Thought I'd start a thread for anyone starting IVF/ICSI in April! This is going to be round 2 for me, I'm currently waiting for my period to start so I can book my pre-treatment appointment and typical, I'm a week late with no signs of AF! Joys of PCOS and irregular cycles!

I think I will test early. It’s hard as I’m doing this alone so all I can think about is when to test. I don’t want to want until test day as that’s a work day and I would rather know sooner if negative.

yes it’s my first cycle and I feel awful. Really struggling with side effects, had terrible side effects in stims and now having side effects on cyclogest. The only silver lining to this cycle not working will be to have a break from these meds tbh. The lab phoned and said they managed to freeze 3 embryos which I’m amazed at. Sorry you didn’t get any to freeze. How are you finding it? How soon did you test last time?

@Twofromanotherkind sorry you are having such bad side affects. I hope it passes soon. I’m also really pleased you got some to freeze. I have been quite lucky and aside from bloating havnt really had many side affects at all this cycle. Probably just my body getting used to it all! Cyclogest is horrible though. I am in it 3 times a day this cycle but was twice a day in my last two cycles.

I tested 3 days before my true test date on the last cycle. I can’t remember exactly what day that was. As I had the transfer early the two week wait was longer. It is hard to think about other things though. It’s our last cycle so all of our eggs are in the one basket so to speak! I just hope they are cooking nicely! It’s probably also why I don’t want to test early on this round as I know whatever the outcome is truly the final go.

did your consultant say anything about what you can and can’t do in the two weeks? Like should I be resting up or going about my day as usual? We never got any advice on this period

@worldwidetravel2017 I'm starting gonal f but only for two days and then move on to pergoveris. I've had gonal f before but not the latter so we'll see. I've also been prescribed a mild steroid tablet which might help with ovarian response apparently. I've never had the meds you're on (other than burselin as the trigger) but hope they're not too bad! Sorry to hear about your miscarriages, I've had a couple and it was such a real and deep grief that I still don't think I'm over tbh. Here's hoping for a successful cycle for us both 🙏

@HopeloveandkindnessI had my transfer on Saturday! No symptoms just the cyclogest teasing me I think. How about you?

@Hopeloveandkindnessmy test day is the 24th but I feel like I might test early as I am a common early tester haha

Mine is the 22nd Is this your first transfer?? …. I’m the same I’ve stocked up on tested as I feel I won’t be able to hold off 😅😅

Hi all, just thought I’d give you all an update that unfortunately our ivf cycle has failed before we got to embryo transfer. Unfortunately no embryos made it to day 5. We are absolutely gutted and devastated however we have decided instead of rushing into another cycle to work on ourselves and our health & lifestyle for the next round.

Best of luck to all those of you who are in your tww, or just starting their cycle. I would appreciate any tips in regards to supplements, vitamins, diet that have helped with egg quality or sperm quality.

Have you read "it starts with the egg" there are good tips on that but i think sometimes its sadly down to luck :( how old are you? Xx

@Hopeloveandkindnessthis is my first transfer with my new partner. I had 6 transfers with a previous partner years ago. It’s soo strange how each clinic give different test dates. I was sooo tempted this morning but managed to hold off. We will see how tomorrow morning goes haha

@Timetotryagain yes I have read it however i didn’t really follow anything through. This time round my aim is to change things and do things differently. I am 25, just turned 25. Quite upset at the outcome. But I guess there’s only so much we can do.

Vit d levels are vital
Have u had yours tested ?
They can take 2 - 3 months to - fix -

Good to take 1000 iu vit d daily.

The book it starts with an egg is good.

Coq10 can be good 4 egg qual
But always let your clinic know

Diet - regular iron rich foods and leafy greens and lotsa vit c and also b12 rich foods

Have you had your b12 and feretin tested ?

( b12 vit d and feretin are all talked about in that book and are vital
I fixed all mine before we tried to concieve -
Then concieved 2nd cycle trying.but then early miscarriage - but very likely down to having blood that clots too fast )

@lovelivelaugh64 ita good that you have age on your side ♥️ yeah i would definitley recomend ubiquinol. I took the ones from natures best for 2 months before (best is to do it 3 months before)

Is your other half on any vitamins? Mine was just on the wellmab conception ones

My bodies done what it should so far - today's scan was good
So onto the next bit -
2 scans,next week

@worldwidetravel2017 I was taking vitamin 4000IU as per the books guidelines however it gave me migraines. I did request for all the other levels to be checked but my clinic said they don’t check them.

@Timetotryagain yes he’s on well man conception but he wasn’t consistent in taking them. I did read a lot of Impryl for men. He has low morphology/ motility

I'm so sorry that you also had a failed cycle. It's not a very great feeling and it's such a horrible experience. I hope your going to be ok. Fingers xd your next cycle is a more positive one.

4000 is too much - 4 thousand is too much

1000 iu a day

Gp nhs gp can check feretin ; b12 , vit d

Also thyroid etc
