Thought I'd start a thread for anyone starting IVF/ICSI in April! This is going to be round 2 for me, I'm currently waiting for my period to start so I can book my pre-treatment appointment and typical, I'm a week late with no signs of AF! Joys of PCOS and irregular cycles!

Hiya all joining you guys, sat and read through the thread, this will be my 5th transfer (came off everything as was giving up) but a pep talk from another thread has helped and I feel ready to go for my very last chance with my 2 frosties, my FET will be 6/7th may so in-between threads really hope that's ok

My update is that I caved on day 3 after EC and rang for an update yesterday. I had convinced myself that my 4 fertilised eggs hadn’t made it so just wanted to put myself out of my misery. However they were still going and 3 of them had 6 - 8 cells which is where they should be and had been graded average to good and the other one was 1 cell behind but it could catch up. This wait has been the hardest part of the IVF process for me - I feel like I’m slowly going insane 😛

So 4 eggs this time
And the sperm doesn't have great motility so upgraded to ICSI
We've never done this before so I'm hoping these changes and what I've done different this cycle is all just because it's the one.

@ClaireBear101i completely get where you are coming from. I’ve never had a round with so little eggs. I was expecting them to call and say only 1 had fertilised this morning but we got 3 so there is still hope. We also had to do icsi but we knew this before.
Try to keep positive (I know easier said then done) and as a lot of people have told me when I had my breakdown last week it only takes one. Just take it one day at a time.

@thehype we will be doing a frozen transfer after our holiday, so hopefully June. That sounds like a positive update! The wait is awful, the clinic didn't ring till 2.30pm on my day 5 and it was the longest day of my life!!

@ClaireBear101 sorry to hear your not feeling the best, sending hugs. We had ICSI both our rounds due to MFI, do you get day 3 and day 5 updates or do your clinic wait until transfer now?

Hi all, what should follicles be measuring to be liable for fertilisation and retrieval?

17mm and above

Feeling nauseous today to the max. Just managing to nibble in salty foods and got some ginger biscuits which are helping. So paranoid about OHSS although my clinic said I was low risk. Anyone else had nausea this bad before egg collection?

@Twofromanotherkind I was sick before my egg collection during my first round and this time I felt nauseas for about 3 days leading up to EC x

Ah thanks, glad I’m not the only one. Did it settle down a few days after EC? Were you able to do a fresh transfer?

@waitingforourmiracle Yea they'll update in the morning and then day 3 and 5. I have no patience. Haha

You're right it's all about quality not quantity at the end of the day.
As its our 3rd try i was just caught off guard with things being different and I don't know much about ICSI

Hi everyone! It seems like a lot is happening for everyone! @ClaireBear101how are you feeling now? ICSI is a good thing right? They are taking any chances so everything crossed for you! @waitingforourmiracleoh gosh I’m sorry to hear you were sick etc before ET. Did you have any other symptoms?

My period came in today so I start meriofert tomorrow! Any insights into how that feels or makes you feel? They are planing my EC for either Good Friday or Easter Monday as it stands 😬 xxx

@ClaireBear101no only had egg collection yesterday but they told me on Fridays scan that I only had 3 follicles but managed to get 4 yesterday. So hopefully 1 of the 3 fertilised will make it to Saturday for transfer.
This was my 4th egg collection (I did 3 with a previous partner 3/4 years ago) and yeah I was too. I was menopur the first 3 and gonal f for this one so maybe that’s why. Who knows

@Alexm06 keep me in the loop. It's that worry isn't it hoping they get to day 5. I'm in Ireland so it's always been gonal f for the trigger.
We had 5 last go in November and 2 fertilised but had a miscarraige in week 6 so I'm always stressed at this point.

This is my first ever IVF cycle. I had EC on March 28th and disappointingly only retrieved 1 egg. During my EC my blood pressure was high and it didn't seem to budge during deep sedation (which it should) so I had to contact my GP. It meant that regardless they weren't happy to proceed with fresh day 3 transfer and wanted to leave to day 5 for freezing. So lucky that my one wee egg fertilised and made it to day 5 blast 🥹 it's just so frustrating that I now need to wait it out to sort my bp out which after a weeks worth of readings has been fine at home!

Welcome. So does that mean you can't do a day 5 fresh transfer?

So some how we got 7EGGS!!!! whoa!!! I went in thinking we would get nothing. Though unfortunately we had to change our cycle to an icsi cycle as hubby's sperm didn't produce enough live sperm for a normal fertilisation, I'm feeling nervous about this.

Hi! X started my injections last Sunday.. (I know the feeling when u waiting for period when u want it more than ever haha bt it's getting late I have PCOS too) I had ivf in 2017 tru nhs we had 3 rounds of it. The first didn't work the 2nd was miscarriage Nd the 3rd I've got my amazing son ! This tym we needed to pay... over 12000! Omg (for this money cudav hv boob job etc hahaha) bt yh finally started it kept being delayed cz supppsted start in December bt my liver test kept coming bad.. am on Meriofert injections (soo bad cz the Lil glass thing with liquid need to break the neck of it which usually the glass break Nd spread on me or cut my finger ) Nd am taking tablets Metformin cz in the previous ivf I've got OHHS.
Do u guys have sum inf what is best to eat drink to help the eggs grow healthy etc ? I knw that after transfer shud eat pineapple core (the thing frm the middle)
