Thought I'd start a thread for anyone starting IVF/ICSI in April! This is going to be round 2 for me, I'm currently waiting for my period to start so I can book my pre-treatment appointment and typical, I'm a week late with no signs of AF! Joys of PCOS and irregular cycles!

Be nice to have some company! 💛

I had egg collection awake and had the green whistle for pain relief. we started the pain relief early so it kicked in before the procedure but honestly to date that was the best collection iv had even though it was a very hard collection as the ovaries were hard to get too, the left one more so then the right. Was really crampy and bled a little in recovery so took some panadole and we are given heat packs. But now I'm fine, I just feel a little sore picking up the kids or moving too fast or sneezing. Other then that and I feel fine. Just feel like iv run a marathon so very tired. How did you go?

Out of our 4 eggs only one was mature. Absolutely gutted as never happened ed before we usually got 3 at this point and 2 have always gone back in. I'm hoping this time is so different because it's actually going to work but time will tell.
I need to look up positive stories for one egg now to cheer me up!

All good. They collected 14 eggs which I can’t quite believe! They gave me some anti sickness IV which is good so feeling much better than I have been

@lovelivelaugh64 I've been reading a lot of success stories too and with my last one being a miscarraige my doctor sees no reason for this to not work but it's all luck.
So just putting all our positivity into that one egg. Day 3 cannot come fast enough but as its only one she's going to update us everyday.

a little update from me - I’ve been quiet as been abit anxious. We had 6 collected last Thursday, 5 fertilised. Day 3 we only had 4 and had our last update today day 6 - we have 1 little embryo from this cycle. Feeling really emotional as was really hopefully we’d have more but praying quality over quantity. I’m booked to go in next Thursday for catheter test so will go from there for next steps.

So they thought they would manage to collect 14 and they did. Not sure if they all have eggs in yet so will wait and see what they say later. These were the sizes from my last scan

Had my day 8 stim scan today. She counted 7 viable follicles + a few smaller ones she doesnt think will catch up in time. That’s less than Ive had previously, but at least they were all really even sized, so I remain cautiously optimistic. But its 6 more days of stims for me and collection is planned for next wednesday. As usual, my left ovary is an underachiever, had only one good follicle but the side that feels noticeably more uncomfortable.

some of my follicles are below 10mm and my EC is booked for Friday so im wondering if they would catch up.

@BakinABaby when do you go for your next scan?

had issues getting catheter through my cervix’s on 1st cycle so they told me last week they’ll do a catheter test(dummy run) this time. if it doesn’t work then have little procedure to dilate my cervix’s. Fingers crossed all ok next week otherwise paying over 3 thousand to get procedure done but needs must ☺️

@waitingforourmiracle how lovely that you’ve got a holiday booked first. Half 2 is a long time to wait although mine rang at half 1 today so not much earlier.

@Miraclemuma03 oh yay that’s great … were some of them hiding?

@Bbxmwahx welcome - from what I’ve seen on here I think most people increase their protein and cut back on carbs. One nurse told me to eat a lot of fibre as well to help with constipation although luckily that I never got that.

@Twofromanotherkind yay that's great they got so many! Hope you are feeling better now.

@MrsMc14 congrats on having one although I know it would be nice to have as many as possible. Did you get any feedback on what happened to the others?

@BakinABaby that sounds like a good amount and hopefully they will all be good quality.

I’ve just had my day 5 update and from 4 fertilised none have made it to blastocyst today but they are going to give them another day. One has stopped dividing so I’m guessing that one is out but one is showing signs of compacting so there is hope. The other 2 are cellular and fragmented which I don’t think sounds good. I really thought I would know what was happening by the end of today but another day of torture to go 😩

@thehypethey mentioned Sunday they were low graded but were they were meant to be and things could change. I didn’t ask questions today but suppose can ring up tomorrow once emotions have settled more.

i have egg collection on Friday. What did you all do to prep yourself for it? Im feeling very nervous now that its coming to it

@waitingforourmiracle i dont have any more scans, next is ec next thirsday.

@lovelivelaugh64 this is my third retrieval. I got 11 and 10 eggs last two times (but got only one embryo each time) and had about double the follicles I have this time. The doc said 7 are good, all were 11-12mm today, maybe one more will be ripe. The sizes varied more last times though, last time I had very great difs in size and out of 13 potentially viable follicles at ec, only 5 had mature eggs.

@lovelivelaugh64 i think its normal to have a few that are empty or idk, maybe they fail to get them out. They may also have eggs but they can be immature or overripe, which has been the case for me previously, unfortunately its not an exact science. I’d say try not to dwell on it, theres nothing you can do to change the outcome yourself :)

Absolutely devastated this morning. Only 2 of my eggs were mature for icsi and both of those didn't do well today, doesn't look like they will make it. Il get an update tomorrow morning but was told not to expect good news. So unfortunately this round will end up with nothing. I just want to cry
