Thought I'd start a thread for anyone starting IVF/ICSI in April! This is going to be round 2 for me, I'm currently waiting for my period to start so I can book my pre-treatment appointment and typical, I'm a week late with no signs of AF! Joys of PCOS and irregular cycles!

Be nice to have some company! 💛

I am on the same time line. Go back Monday and fingers xd for egg retrieval on the Wednesday. I have everything xd for you that all goes to plan .

@MrsMc14thats Brilliant news. How many follicles did you have to begin with?

everyone who has been through EC stage, how many follicles were seen on scan and how many eggs were collected compared to that?

I had 14 follicles on my day 9/10 scan. Doctor told me he only took the really good ones?
I was a little disappointed with only 6 collected as I had 11 collected on my 1st cycle and I was higher dose this time round. Hoping quality over quantity 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

Hey all I’ve not been on here for a while but it’s been good to catch up and see how everyone is progressing.

After 9 days of stims (not including the trigger day) and 3 scans I had my egg collection this morning which all went smoothly - I’ve come to bed for a nap but apparently I’m not tired now I’m lying down 🙄

I had 26 follicles and they got 19 eggs from them - apparently the other follicles didn’t have eggs in. I’m borderline PCOS so I’m hoping that some of them are good quality 🤞

@MrsMc14its definitely quality over quantity. When is egg transfer?

we’re doing freeze all this time. Had problems getting through cervix on last cycle so going in for catheter test in couple of weeks x

So had my scan today and I have only 3 follicles which is very disappointing so now me and my partner are stuck on what to do. Whether we cancel the cycle and get a refund losing out on £750 or do we go ahead with egg collection on Monday. We can’t use the programme again we were on if we cancel but to be honest I don’t think I would want to with the low dosage I was on. Why does ivf have to be soo hard!

is anyone here taking the ganirelix injections? How are they? I have read they’re really painful. Im already struggling with gonal F im not sure how I am going to cope with ganirelix. Any advice on how to administer them would be greatly appreciated

@Alexm06 sorry to hear - that’s such a tough decision to make.

@lovelivelaugh64 I took ovamex for my second injection so I can’t comment on that one but it would sting going in and for about 10mins after. It helped a lot when I did an ice pack first and for the bit afterwards I would get something good on the telly to distract me.

@Miraclemuma03 I felt fine afterwards thanks and feeling well enough to go to a baby shower (ha) today so all good. Not great news today though as only 4 of my 19 mature eggs fertilised. Apparently the sperm had surrounded them all but hadn’t managed to penetrate the rest of them. We’re still in the running but I’m not holding out much hope as the embryologist already talked about using ICSI for our next round. How are you feeling with your stims?

Hi ladies, I had my first round of ganirelix today. It went well. Better than expected. I decided to inject myself instead of my husband doing it which helped. Im on day 6 of stims today, how are you all doing?

@thehype that's not good about your eggs not fertilising, that is sort of disappointing but you have 4 so far so that's not nothing. Let's just hope those 4 go on to beautiful day 5 blasts and can be transferred and put on ice

I'm actually not doing so bad on the meds. Needles I'm fine with, my husband does those and I don't have to worry about injecting myself. My hormones are struggling a little, but honestly I'm soldiering on. Just feeling really tired but when bed time comes I can't sleep so up all night but still have a household to run and other kids so have to just get on with things.

Yes you will have bloating for a couple of days after egg collection but should all go down and back to normal by the time you have transfer if your having a fresh transfer done. The bloating in ivf is really something else isn't it. My main symptoms right now on the meds Is the bloating and very tired. Hopefully for you it's all back to normal within a day or so after egg retrieval .

That's good you did well with your first ganirelix shot. Those injections look really big and sore. Your son brave to inject yourself. I think everyone is brave to do their own injections. My husband does all mine. We wake up at 4am to get them done lol .

Thank you praying they can say I can trigger at my scan tomorrow. Really struggling now just feel so uncomfortable and diarrhoea has started again 🤦‍♀️. I’m feeling really tired too, not managing to do much. When do you next have a scan is it Monday too!m?

I'm with you and your time line. Have a Scan Monday morning and hope they tell me everything is good and I can trigger..the hormones are definitely making me really tired also, I'm usually a very full of energy type of person but I wake up tired and struggling to make it through the day.

@lovelivelaugh64 I've had them, and yeah, the needles on them were so dull(?). They were such a bitch, half the times even with a swift jab it was just sort of a grinding impalement and yes it hurt, the multidose pen needles are nothing in comparison. I don't have any tips, just hold your breath and do it 😀

Anyone’s period seem to take an age to arrive after northisterone? 🤦🏼‍♀️ I’m hoping to start stims this week and absolutely no sign of AF anywhere! Flipping heck. The one time I need her to pop round as well! 🤣

Had my second scan and bloods today, just waiting on my blood work to come back but from my scans I'm good to have my last antagonist this arvo and my trigger shot tonight for egg retrieval on Wednesday.

Update on the blood work and apparently my oestradiol has dropped. I don't know what this means as I missed the call and only got an email so I couldn't ring back but did send an email back asking some questions. But in the email my ivf nurse said that they are going to continue with egg retrieval and see what they get but now I'm second guessing whether we should go ahead and what actually are we going to collect on retrieval day if my hormones are dropping. But now because it's late afternoon and the clinic is closed I now have to go ahead with my trigger shot and continue as normal until tomorrow when il either get an email back or I can call them. Ivf is so stressful.
