Hi all I thought I would create a thread for our BFPs after IVF.

A bit about me: 34 years old (35 next month)
2x failed transfers and 1x failed to thaw
BFP with this little blub. Scan date 7th of February (will be 6wks1day)🎊
Here's to continuous panicking 🤪

Welcome @Mseddy ! It sounds like youve got yourself a little fighter embryo. So sorry its been such a shit time! Hope you are feeling okay and things are on the up.

@monicabella1234 Aww Im so so glad to hear this, how lovely!! ❤And yay, one less day of first trimester for you! hahaha!

@Feelingmindful Thats annoying! Its so hard to keep up with it all isnt it! But if youve been discharged from the ivf clinic wouldnt it be up to the EPU now for any other scans?!

@Sherr33 Oh Im so sorry you didnt get the reassurance today. I hope youre as okay as can be. If its any consolation I was 6+1 yesterday and measured at 5+6 too, at this point the measurements can be all over the place and it could catch up. My last pregnancy I was 4 days behind and it caught up 2 weeks later. Hopefully next week they can see the fetal pole, hoping it was a bad angle or just a touch too early to see it clearly. Either way, hoping next week brings better clarity for you, the not knowing whats going on is super hard. What day is the next scan booked for? ❤

I keep flitting from trying to be hopeful and positive to feeling really empty and just sad. The next scan is for next week Thursday. My heads all over the place and I don't know how I'm going to get through till then 😞 x

@Sherr33 oh, I’m sorry it was’t what you were hoping for. If it’s of any reassurance the midwife last week told me the difference in days is so minuscule when it comes to the fetus size that it doesn’t matter. In fact, she showed me 2 positions where the baby measured different days but the difference in size was so small.

Being in limbo is so difficult. I really hope by the next scan you have the news you have been waiting for.

I bet, the uncertainty is horrible. Hope you have some distractions over the next week. Sorry youre in this awful limbo position. If its any consolation, there is a thread about this now and it sounds really promising.

@Sherr33 so sorry that it wasn’t what you were wanting to see on scan 😞 if it’s any consolation,my clinic literally said yesterday that they don’t scan before 7 weeks unless it is to rule out an ectopic because it causes unnecessary upset and confusion as things can change so much before the heartbeat ❤️

Sherr33 · 06/02/2025 15:08

Thank you so much for that link @roowoop really needed that. I'm just telling myself it's a boy and being sup3r lazy and super shy 🫣 and il count down the days till Thursday (again) now I wish they hadn't changed my appointment because even a day can make a huge difference.
Thank you @Cosyseason1234 @Feelingmindful

Hey ladies, has anyone had any spotting? I'm 5+4 today and had a little bit of pink mixed in with the pessary residue (sorry TMI) feeling really worried. Clinic just said it's common and to monitor but can't stop stressing now

monicabella1234 · 06/02/2025 15:49

@Sherr33 i'm really sorry to hear this, with it not being what you hoped, but I agree with the others, and in terms of measurements was told exactly the same. have you got some distractions you can plan for yourself for the next week?

@Hopefullyonedaysoon yes me - I had light pink spotting twice, and that was probably about 2 weeks ago, it was 2 different days, one week and the next. I've also just been told by the nurse today that the pessaries are really agitating for your insides, so it's likely to be that. Keep an eye on it, but try not to worry.

I've planned lots of over thinking till next week's appointment 🤦‍♀️🤣 I know myself I won't be able to concentrate on anything else. I already slacked at work today 😬

@monicabella1234 thank you, I've switched to rectally with the pessaries in case they were causing irritation. Literally cannot wait to just get to the scan now

roowoop · 07/02/2025 10:58

@Sherr33 So so hard to keep distracted isnt it. Hope this week whizzes past for you.

@Hopefullyonedaysoon Hope the spotting eases up, as if there arent enough things to worry about!
I used to alternate with where to put the pessaries but now I only do rectally and I much prefer it, apparently it absorbs quicker that way too I think I read!

Ginny91 · 09/02/2025 21:41

Hi all,
Can I join? Recognise a couple of you from other threads :) I had my official BFP yesterday and just waiting for the clinic to get back to me for my scan date. Hope everyone is doing ok? I am just super tired and my boobs feel heavy but no other symptoms atm..

Cosyseason1234 · 10/02/2025 07:45

Hi @Ginny91 lovely to see you here 🥰 how are you doing? Xx

Elena3 · 10/02/2025 08:45

Hi ladies, may I join in please? ❤
@Cosyseason1234 @Ginny91 , so nice to see you from IVF threads here :)

I am 37, (unexplained infertility with all the tests and checks being perfect for me and my husband), had my FET 27th January, first attempt, and it seems that it worked. My due date calculator says 15th October :)

Same like @Ginny91 , I don't have any symptoms whatsoever. I had 3-4 days of terrible mood swings and crying, but I blame it on oeastradiol/progesterone pessaries. I didn't have implantation bleeding, I noticed just 1 tiny light pink spot yesterday, so maybe it is that, don't know.

Mseddy · 10/02/2025 09:15

Hi guys :) it's nice to have such a full thread! I actually can't believe how many BFPs came from the other thread. Totally above and beyond the predicted success rates!

I still have zero symptoms. My boobs were a bit sensitive last night, but gone again this morning. I freaked myself out a bit by doing an Asda cheepie test which there is a decent line, bit it just looks so week compared to the FRERs I've been using. Anyway the difference in sensitivity is 6 to 25, so I know I need to not stress about it! Not even sure why I did it! I think because I'll just never be over the fascination of seeing two lines on a test! OTD for me is Wednesday. I almost don't want to test because I'm working Tuesday, Wednesday and even the slightest concern that my test is lighter and I'll be off my game all day at work. I'm not sure how I would manage to spend the day surrounded by women giving birth and babies if I've got any doubts about this pregnancy being viable. God it's going to be awful

roowoop · 10/02/2025 10:09

Welcome guys!!! So so lovely to see so many BFP's! My symptoms really come and go so Im trying not to stress. Im 7 weeks tomorrow but dont have much sickness which although im thankful about, I also kinda wish I did😅

@Mseddy, @Elena3 & @Ginny91 Do you guys get a HCG blood test at your clinic? or just the viability scan?

Ginny91 · 10/02/2025 17:40

Nice to see you guys too! 💛

@roowoop My clinic do do HCG but for £75.. I'm feeling ok at the moment so going to wait for the scan; I just got it booked in for 3rd March - seems so far off!! Will you have yours tomorrow then? Good luck!

@Cosyseason1234 Doing ok thanks was back at work today and told everyone I did my back in so to go easy on me, it worked a bit but I was still absolutely knackered by the end of the day 😴how're you? Did you contact your clinic now you've finally passed your OTD?

Anyone recommend a pregnancy tracker app or is it better to stay off them till the scan? xx

Eagerlywaiting1990 · 10/02/2025 19:50

Hi Ladies, mind if I join? 😁
Seeing lots of lovely familiars from other threads...its been a successful season for ivf! 😍
I got my scan booked for 27th February so just need to keep my head down until then.
I've got sore boobs, mild cramping and some nausea on and off! Hope everyone's getting on OK...I know its just one wait after the other xx

Elena3 · 11/02/2025 08:25

@roowoop I think my clinic only offers viability scan, I emailed them to book but don't have the date confirmed yet x

@Eagerlywaiting1990 glad to see you here! I have mild cramping too :)

cleggrickman · 11/02/2025 09:21

How's everyone getting on? I've not managed to keep track of this thread. I hope you're all doing well. Does everyone have their viability scan booked? Another dreadful wait!

@Cosyseason1234 how are you getting on transfer twin? Did you have a nice weekend away?

Cosyseason1234 · 11/02/2025 12:12

@Elena3 i am with you with the mood swings 😂 I blame the progesterone!

@Mseddy hope you are ok,the normal cheapie test will be lighter than the FRER until u get to a good week after OTD I’d say?

@Ginny91 im with you on the knackered,I went to bed at 8am last night 😂

@cleggrickman hey transfer twin! How are you doing? I am knackered with a little bit of nausea and hoping this is all good signs! I cried and ruined my own weekend 😂 had very light brown discharge on wiping and just overthought miscarriage/ectopic. I’m feeling much better mentally this week now it’s stopped and just thinking well today I am pregnant!

hope everyone is doing ok xxxx

roowoop · 11/02/2025 14:03

@Ginny91 makes sense! The wait for scans is SO painful. I had my viability scan last Wednesday and all was well luckily. Been referred to the EPU for a reassurance scan on Mon 17th when Ill be almost 8 weeks.

@Eagerlywaiting1990 Really is just one wait after another, makes the weeks feel like theyre going by so slowly!

@Sherr33 I hope youre doing okay. Not too long to go till the scan ❤

Eagerlywaiting1990 · 11/02/2025 15:20

@roowoop congratulations that's a massive hurdle to cross! Xx

cleggrickman · 11/02/2025 15:49

@Mseddy I second what's been said about the cheaper tests. The FRER gave really dark lines early on but then I used an Asda one and didn't feel they was as dark. Then I went down the spiral of the digital tests. It's all just a painful wait at the moment.

@Cosyseason1234 I'm doing ok just taking every day as it comes. Nausea is on and off todays probably been the worst for it but feel ok now. It was touch and go whether I was going to vomit in a cafe I was in. Feeling extremely emotional about having another one. How my eldest will react etc but I'm aware a lots just the hormones and I've just got to ride it as my friend said today. I feel like I sound unhappy which I'm not in the slightest. Hormones eh! Have you got a date for you viability scan? Do they do that at your clinic?

Cosyseason1234 · 11/02/2025 16:36

@roowoop great news that all was well ❤️

@cleggrickman I feel completely the same as you! My son is literally my best mate and it was just us for a long time 🥹 hoping he will love the news though, there’s 8 years between me and my little brother and we have a great relationship. Hormones are the devil! I cried earlier because my GP has prescribed the rest of the meds for me (saving us a massive meds fee) so feeling very grateful. I have a viability scan at 7 weeks 2 days, have you got yours booked in?

cleggrickman · 11/02/2025 18:12

@Cosyseason1234 that is exactly my feelings at the moment then I feel so guilty thinking/saying this too! That amazing news that your GP has prescribed! I think because our clinic is a NHS clinic our med fees are still expensive don't get me wrong but not the price of some clinics I've seen quoted on here. I don't pay the prescription fee and pay for each med so lubion for instance is £6.41 per vial which it would be love to pay the prescription cost for the box but I don't think that's possible! Amazing that you have your scan booked in and at a good date too. Mines booked in for Monday which makes me 6weeks +1 which I'm very nervous it's going to be too early then having the anxiety of waiting to go back (past experience with DD)
