Hi all I thought I would create a thread for our BFPs after IVF.

A bit about me: 34 years old (35 next month)
2x failed transfers and 1x failed to thaw
BFP with this little blub. Scan date 7th of February (will be 6wks1day)🎊
Here's to continuous panicking 🤪

great news @roowoop - really pleased to hear those positive words! hurrah. interesting that you are discharged from IVF clinic. i had presumed you stay with them until 12 weeks... shows I need to ask more questions...!

I honestly think she got it wrong and added 2 weeks by mistake?! I dont know, it sounds wrong to me but hey ho!
She said I can stop the progesterone about 9 weeks, though I have enough to go until about 10 so will carry on until then. Im sorta scared to stop them, last time I stopped them I had a mmc a week later.. Im not on anything else though.

She gave me scan pics and even asked if I wanted to take a video of the heartbeat! Was so lovely. Nice to get a bit of reassurance. I hope it all goes well for you tomorrow

Awwww that sounds so surreal and just a dream. Yeah I read sometimes they taper you off but even I'm scared so will take them for as long as I can to be honest. I'm scared to taper off the rest if my meds too 😫

Aw you've helped settle some of my nerves. I mean ask me again in morning when I'm on the way to clinic haha x

Awwwww @roowoop congratulations lovely news xxx

Feelingmindful · 05/02/2025 17:07

@roowoop That is amazing news. Sooooo pleased for you! I’ve just got back from mine. I have also been discharged today. Baby is growing thankfully and the heartbeat was stronger, a bit slower than last week in terms of growth. They put my due date for the 24th Sept, whereas the clinic last week had said 26th was my due date, meanwhile the apps all say 25th Sept. To be honest not sure they can confirm due date until 12 week scan from what I have heard? The GP referred me 2 weeks ago for the EPU but have not had a call from them yet or been assigned a midwife. Tried chasing today but was told to wait another 2 weeks as there is a delay with the NHS.

My clinic are keeping me on the meds until 12 weeks. 9 weeks seems a bit soon. Can you ask to take them until 12 weeks given your history?

Did they measure the heartbeat? Mine measured at 135 bpm which they said was a within the range thankfully.

Hopefullyonedaysoon · 05/02/2025 17:16

@roowoop that does sound a bit off for due date. As I understand it EDD is calculated as 261 days from transfer date of your had a 5 day transfer, this can then change slightly when you have your 12 week scan x

Lottie25 · 05/02/2025 17:33

That is such great news about the scans so far! I’m honestly so delighted for you all, can’t even imagine what a wonderful moment that is.

I’ve got 2 more weeks to wait for mine as mine isn’t until 7 weeks. Trying to see the positive that hopefully they’ll be a bit more to see then?

Like lots of you my clinic don’t do blood tests and I know if I start testing lots I’ll get obsessed, so have tried to hold off. Only done the one before OTD and then the one the day of. And then one at the weekend which was a digital and showed 2-3. I’m definitely feeling like I’m in limbo and just trying to trust that I am actually pregnant. It’s so hard though!! I’m planning to do another this weekend but I’ve also heard so many people say they never got to 3+ even quite far along, so will try not to freak out if I don’t see that…. Easier said than done.

That's wonderful news. Hopefully you get a call back soon regarding EPU/Midwife. I really hope none of us have an issue with that once we get discharged from our clinics as that's the last thing we need. I assumed that I would be with my clinic till 12 weeks. I'm actually scared of losing that connection with them if that makes sense 😳

roowoop · 05/02/2025 17:56

So so surreal @Sherr33

Yea at my next scan at the epu I think Im gonna ask if I can get more cyclogest as 9 weeks does seem too early to me really...

So so so lovely to hear this @Feelingmindful !!! Very happy for you!
Oh man thats a long while to wait, how frustrating. Are you able to chase your GP for the epu referral? I was told if I dont hear back from the epu by early next week to chase them. Shame theres an NHS delay, another 2 weeks seems ages to chase them. Probably not but, wonder if its because September is the most popular birthday month in the UK, so theres a backlog maybe?! Also I've only just referred myself for a midwife, I've been too scared up until now!
TBH I didnt even know about the heartbeat measuring so if they did they didnt tell me! haha! But good to know for my next scan, shall deffo ask them about this.

So confusing with the dates, I suppose it doesnt really matter at this point, but Im gonna go by the more accurate estimate of 30th Sep I think!!

Thinking of you guys for tomorrow @monicabella1234 and @Sherr33 ! Glad you guys are in there nice and early, its been the most nerve wracking morning waiting for an afternoon appointment haha!

I feel you, the wait is so incredibly painful! But ultimately itll be so worth it, at 7 weeks youll see so much more. The way I see it with the 3+ is if you get it, great, a bit of short term relief, but if you dont, dont put too much merit on it, I really dont think its that valuable to get, I dont fully trust those tests

Hi everyone, thought id tentatively creep over here after getting my BFP yesterday at 5dp5dt and having a nice strong line today at 6dp5dt.

This is my 3rd pregnancy, all IVF. First was a chemical in August 2020. Then I got pregnant with DD my first frosties in December 2020 and then this is our first attempt at a sibling round with one of the 3 frosties we had from her round.

I'm honestly in shock that I'm pregnant first time! I've also been really unwell since transfer and just got out of hospital today. So this little pea has burrowed in there despite alot of adversity! Really thought it was going to be a BFN because the clinic advise not to have a warm bath as it's important not to raise your body temperature and mine has barely come below 38 since Sunday night! Obviously this embryo didn't read the rule book!

Congratulations to everyone in the group! Haven't RTFT but I'll have a flick back once DD is asleep

Welcome! And you've had such a rough patch. This little one is a trooper. I was the same, after transfer, in the sense that I thought I needed to be happy and calm - it was anything but that and I had ruled myself out! And now here we are scan tomorrow 😬

Morning everyone! @Sherr33 good luck for today.

I'm feeling a bit nervous about this morning, as had some brown discharge yesterday from 5pm onwards, and some cramps. No cramps this morning, and a little discharge. @Cosyseason1234 your words were very helpful yesterday.

Let's see!

monicabella1234 · 06/02/2025 10:48

All ok! 😌

Tears and a huge sigh of relief. It was so exciting to see the action on the screen. Phew. I had gone into the room a bit teary, and the nurse was great. She also told me we're 7 weeks and 1 day, so we've gained a day! I was calculating it incorrectly.

Ohhhh the relief. Thanks again @Cosyseason1234 and everyone else on here for sharing your experiences too x

Feelingmindful · 06/02/2025 10:54

@roowoop oh I didn’t even know self-referral was a thing! I just self referred so thank you! Hopefully you hear from the EPU soon. I just spoke to the GP and the EPU have refused because it was via IVF and so I would have been seen by the IVF clinic - so annoyed!

@Mseddy Congratulations ! Sounds like you have been through mill - you have a little soldier!

@monicabella1234 so pleased for you! Did they give you a due date?

@Sherr33 hope your scan went well? Keeping all my fingers crossed for you!

monicabella1234 · 06/02/2025 10:56

yes, the 24th September - I had 29th September, so we've also gained a few days there! and thank you.

and yes @Sherr33 hope you are doing ok!

Cosyseason1234 · 06/02/2025 11:00

Awwwwww @monicabella1234 so pleased for you ❤️🥹 lovely news xxxx

Sherr33 · 06/02/2025 11:12

Hi all

Erm my scan wasn't what I was hoping for. I mean to reassure myself I even did a clear blue test and it showed 3+ and I went to this scan feeling more positive. But during the scan they saw th gestational sac measuring 10.9mm and the CRL baby size 2.9mm they could see a yolk sac but she couldn't say for certain regarding a fetal pole :-( I've been booked in for another scan next week. They said gestation today was 6+1 but when she was doing the scan she said 5wk6days si I'm not sure what that means.

I'm just feeling really worried. And I think my partner is annoyed at me because he was feeling quite hopeful until I showed him the reasons why I was worried. :-( 😞

Welcome @Mseddy ! It sounds like youve got yourself a little fighter embryo. So sorry its been such a shit time! Hope you are feeling okay and things are on the up.

@monicabella1234 Aww Im so so glad to hear this, how lovely!! ❤And yay, one less day of first trimester for you! hahaha!

@Feelingmindful Thats annoying! Its so hard to keep up with it all isnt it! But if youve been discharged from the ivf clinic wouldnt it be up to the EPU now for any other scans?!

@Sherr33 Oh Im so sorry you didnt get the reassurance today. I hope youre as okay as can be. If its any consolation I was 6+1 yesterday and measured at 5+6 too, at this point the measurements can be all over the place and it could catch up. My last pregnancy I was 4 days behind and it caught up 2 weeks later. Hopefully next week they can see the fetal pole, hoping it was a bad angle or just a touch too early to see it clearly. Either way, hoping next week brings better clarity for you, the not knowing whats going on is super hard. What day is the next scan booked for? ❤
