BFP after IVF - due October 2025

Hi all I thought I would create a thread for our BFPs after IVF.

A bit about me: 34 years old (35 next month)
2x failed transfers and 1x failed to thaw
BFP with this little blub. Scan date 7th of February (will be 6wks1day)🎊
Here's to continuous panicking 🤪

I think given the history they should do. It just takes away that added stress from you. Ohhh. I feel a bit scared getting discharged from the fertility clinic. I hope it is easy to self refer and find myself a midwife after. I wish I had someone to deal with that side of things for me! Haha

I know I just need to get to the end of this week and then bring on next week. I cant wait to hear everyone else's updates either

Omg I know! Leaving the bubble of the nurses you know etc.
Not sure how it is in different areas but at mine was super easy - a form on my hospitals website. They called me to book in pretty quickly. But I guess its so different from area to area. Fingers crossed its not too much faff for you

So excited to see everyone's updates and see progress. Wishing us all so so so much luck. Just feels like hurdle after hurdle with IVF, and then you get the BFP and its continued hurdles. So exhausting. Feeling extremely grateful and lucky to get to this point at least.

Couldn't have said it better myself. I'm sure there will be quote a few more joining soon. Fingers crossed. I know I thought I wouldn't stress or worry but I have done. It's just because of what our journeys have been like to get to this point always on edge and need tbat extra reassurance

hello both - how are you today?

my tiredness has really kicked in and I’ve got a 5 day headache going on. Lots of cramps too - well not loads but noticeable.

so we have scan dates of 5th, 6th and 7th feb? That’s exciting!

I don’t want to get ahead of myself (but positive thinking) - NHS advises to get in touch with midwife before 8 weeks - did you guys do that already? We have an appt booked for the week after, which I think is like a health and background check??

Hi yes I've been getting noticeable cramps but yesterday I didn't feel anything so panicked. But they back again. I've been exhausted. I feel like I sleep wake up do one little thing and am drained again.

I haven't contacted or done the self referral. I thought I had to wait for the 6 week scan :-/

I think you can wait, it’s just that I wasn’t sure how long everything would take. I also wrote down my dates on the referral notes and didn’t think I’d hear back for a bit. The appt will be 7 weeks for us.

Oh okay. It's good to be on the ball with these things though. I feel like I end up forgetting we are going to be discharged at some point from our clinic! How many scans does your clinic do?

morning - I’m not 100% how many scans they do, to be honest! Will need to ask when we go next week.

What about yours?

I’ve just done this weeks test - and the CB digital is showing 3+ weeks now, which is nice to see, as it was 2-3 weeks last Thursday. So 6 weeks today!

i have been feeling pretty ropey these last few days. The headache is still there. How are you all feeling?

1 successful transfer ended in full term stillbirth due to hospital failings
BFP with this last embryo, scan isn't until 20th Feb so 7+4
Feeling extremely anxious and have already had a meltdown about toxoplasmosis 😕

@monicabella1234 I'm not sure how many scans our clinic will be doing before discharging us. I assumed everyone was having their 6 week scan next week. Haha I didn't realise some were a week ahead.
Honestly I get super tired, odd cramps, hungry, leg pains and very very emotional some days 🤦‍♀️ my headaches come and go they aren't costant otherwise I don't know what I'd do with myself

@Hopefullyonedaysoon welcome. I so so sorry to hear about what you've been through. Congratulations on this success and I honestly have no advice on how to not be anxious!

@Hopefullyonedaysoon Welcome! Omg thats so beyond awful, Im so sorry that mustve been absolutely horrific. All the good luck for this time. So understandable to be anxious, especially after what you went through. A bit of a while to wait for the scan but at least by then you should see quite a lot! Sometimes I feel like early scans just make you more anxious as it could be too early to see everything

@monicabella1234 Yay for hitting 6 weeks and the 3+! that feels like a nice milestone. My clinic only does the one 6 week scan as far as I know, and then discharged if all is well. Though I will deffo push them to recommend the EPU gives another scan. My symptoms really come and go, one day Ill get a bunch of things and then ill get nothing. All over the place! Headache must be very annoying and debilitating though! My most annoying one has been that Ive been really lightheaded recently, like motion sickness when I turn my head. Hoping that eases up soon!

Hi everyone and massive congrats! Hoping I can join. 34 and just got first ever positive yesterday! It was our second FET after a failed one in October. Scan booked for 19th Feb so a few weeks to wait! Think I’ll be 7weeks 1 day then?

So sorry to hear how tough it has been for everyone to get here, IVF really is a very very difficult thing indeed.

I’ve been hugely anxious and overthought everything for the last 2.5 years TTC, but right now I think I’m still in a bit of shock… I’m sure the nerves will come, I think I just feel relieved right now to have even got this far!

@Sherr33 I am a bit ahead of you guys as I transferred on the 7th... technically I think that means I am due in September... not Oct, but can I stay this in group? I like it in here! 😂

I had a text from the hospital with 12 week scan date yesterday! The midwife team must have triggered that.

One thing I have noticed - is hunger levels. Anyone got some ideas for good / healthy snacks?

Aww omg 12 week scan date. A lot of countdowns for you. I can't wait for my 6 week scan next week. I bought a bumpy to birth pregnancy journal 😅 which I can't wait to start filling out.

I've got the most annoying cold sores and my lips are so dry, and my gums are very very sensitive I don't know why, get tired so quickly and omg the hunger pangs that crop up I have pretty much eaten most of what was in my fridge and cupboards 🤦‍♀️I've not been eating healthy. I just eat whatever I can find when I'm hungry which can be cereal, toast, eggs, fruit, nuts, chicken sandwiches, crisps, chocolates lol so varied. I finished a whole box of mini brownies and some celery at the same time so I just told myself I'm on a very well balanced diet hahahha

I’ve just had my scan and saw the heartbeat! It is just a surreal feeling. According to the scan I am 6weeks and 1 day so I guess I will also be due in Sept rather than October.

@Sherr33 The midwife let me take a video of the heartbeat and gave me 4 scan printouts so I would definitely ask

Aww haha that will be me next week Friday 6weeks 1day when I have my scan I can't wait. I'm going to take a deep breath because honestly I feel like I'm in limbo until I see it there on the scan myself if that makes any sense

I was the same, I still checked to see if I was bleeding every time I went to the toilet and in hindsight I wished I stressed about it less so my advise to you is just enjoy the moments of being pregnant. I know with IVF and the rollercoaster we go through it’s hard to enjoy each milestone because we worry about the next hurdle.

Hi ☺️ lovely to see everyone here. Can i tentatively join?! I’m 8dp5dt,had a positive since 5dp6dp which has got darker so I’m stepping back from the constant testing and allowing myself to be a little bit excited. How are you all?

I'm going to tentatively join too. Same as @Cosyseason1234 8dp5dt. Tested positive 5dp with a strong line and it's getting stronger. Very anxious atm as there's a lot of hurdles to face but today I am pregnant!

Im trying to keep positive but my symptoms have sort of waned a bit and it’s caused me a bit of worry really. But I did get my 3+ on the digital the other day so I dunno. Awaiting the scan on Wednesday for some hopeful good news. Hopefully I’m just overthinking it!

I think I'm feeling the same as you. Trying not to think too much about it and I am too scared to do the clearblue tests to see the weeks. Friday couldn't come fast enough for me 😫

@Sherr33 HCG will be on Monday. One of the hurdles we have to face on this journey. All tests done at home are getting darker which is a good sign. Where abouts are you in this journey?

Ooo omg good luck i loved getting the call to let me know my results. I'm waiting for my 6 week scan which is next week Friday when il be 6wk1day. I just wish the week goes fast so I know for certain everything is okay. Sometimes the waiting for the next bit can create all sorts of doubts and scenarios in your head 😫
