Anyone starting next month? I'll be on my 4th cycle. I've just bought 2 cycles with manchester fertility and it will be me done. I'm 36, have a low amh of 5.2 and afc 10. I'm doing the estrogen priming protocol so will take estrogen tablets for 7 days starting from day 21. I then take 450 meriofert. I'm not sure whether I am excited or nervous. It has been a year since my last cycle and I'm going to struggle with another loss but wanted to get started again also. No children yet and over 3 years trying. Have blocked tubes and endo xx

Hi everyone
Hope it’s okay for me to join in albeit a bit late. I’m due to start my first round of IVF in Jan, starting injections this Sunday (5th). Don’t really know what to expect but feeling all the emotions!

@Ttcforeverandever I am there with you! First round of IVF and start around 11th Jan, just waiting for my cycle to start! Good luck with everything, wish you the best 🤞🏻

That amazing news with having your son. How did you feel with the overall process?
I really hope this time is successful for you.
I never thought I would be going through this journey to have a baby, but I am excited to get started. I am definitely the same in terms of liking to be in control, and this is very unknown to us at the moment.
That was our thought process if we wasn't successful, that hopefully we have enough embryos to freeze and can try again.
Lubion is an injection and the cyclogest are pessaries with I will continue through 1st trimester, if successful. I wasn't sure about diclofneac myself, but after research it seems as though it's a pain relief if I chose to take it on transfer, and I think it helps with relaxing the muscles. I wasn't told any info on that, but hoping I will once I get to the medication phase.

This process with all of its ups and downs, stress and anxiety is absolutely worth it if you get a little bundle of joy at the end of it all ❤️
I was absolutely heartbroken after we had our first round and got pregnant only to have a prolonged chemical pregnancy and having to start all over again. Second time around I was a lot more guarded going into it. We also didn’t know if we were going to get any embryos out of it due to a low fertilisation rate which I found very stressful and all consuming. But you just have to take it a day at a time and all it takes is one little embryo ❤️

Will you be doing the injections and the suppository together? Oh yeah that’s a good idea actually. Might take it too, did t even think of it as I wasn’t told about it by the consultant.

Tonight is my last Norethisterone tablet, I’ve been taking them for almost 3 weeks so I’m more than ready to be finished with them!

I don’t really know how to feel.. very nervous but also excited to finally get going. We’ve been trying for 3 and a half years so it finally feels like a step forward. Not sure how I feel about the injections, I’m not great with needles :( how are you feeling? Is this your first round?

Also another question, what time does everyone do their injections in the evening? I can’t decide when is best as I’m usually not home til quite late but don’t want to leave it til super late. Any advice?

@Elizabethj89 thank you! How are you feeling about everything? Good luck with everything, hopefully there’ll be lots of positive tests coming soon 😊

I finished mine last night. Think they made me quite moody 😅 so I’m glad to be done with them too!

this will be our third round and I’ve been on three slightly different protocols. I actually quite enjoy the injections as it finally feels like I’m doing something useful that helps us to get to the end goal as I’ve found that there’s loads of waiting around.

I usually do mine at around 8pm as I know I will be home at that time even at the weekends. But as long as you are consistent it doesn’t really matter.

what meds are you going to be taking?

Lozzy000 · 30/12/2024 17:57

@Ttcforeverandever I usually do my stimulation injections at 8:30pm (as I do another injection just before bed, so want to leave a bit of time between them) and then the ovulation stopper (ie Fyremadel or similar) at 7am. Need to ensure they're done at the same time each day, but can pick what suits you (obvs within reason) x

My moods have been so up and down the last week too! I’m hoping I’ll start feeling better from tomorrow.

That’s a really positive way of looking at it I’ll keep that in mind!

On Monday and Tuesday I’m usually not home until 9.45ish so I think mine are going to have to be after 10pm, but I’m not sure if that’s too late.

I’m starting Gonal F (150 dosage) on the 5th then adding Ganirelix on the 10th and I have my first scan on the 13th to see how everything is going. I have no idea how my body is going to respond to the injections. Whats your protocol this time?

Do you find there’s any immediate reaction after the injection? I can either do mine at 7/7.30pm or 10/10.30pm so just not sure which will be better x

Rebekah77 · 30/12/2024 19:32

Second jab all done

hey everyone , fingers crossed for those waiting for bleeds

gonna get a long walk in the morning getting all the veg and protein in. Keeping a close eye on scales just hoping I can stay under the limit

xx

Lozzy000 · 30/12/2024 19:49

@Ttcforeverandever I've never had any reactions from stims, and they're very easy to do, even on the go, if you have the pens (gonal f, Bemfola, pergoveris) opposed to the vials (Menopur, meriofert).

Maybe check in with your clinic to ask them what's best out of those times? Xx

SamVan · 30/12/2024 20:02

@Rebekah77 my doc said painkillers are fine at the start of the ivf cycle just not around time of transfer. I take naproxen for period pains. The clinics also give you a nsaid on day of collection in pessary form.

Rebekah77 · 30/12/2024 20:05

I’m normally a tramadol or stronger kind of girl lol 😂

phoned them they said I can have a few codeine today so doing that as it’s agony

hopefully the period buggers off after a few days of stims

IVFlife · 30/12/2024 21:35

Hello! Just come across this thread. Am on meds now with plans for a transfer early to mid Jan. We have 4 embryos in the freezer. We sadly had a mc in August from our previous transfer. Am now going to be on estrogen, progesterone and adding in inhixa blood thinners.

Elizabethj89 · 30/12/2024 22:50

@FrostedFlake oh it will be so worth it if successful, but if not, at least we have another option after as we have paid for 2 cycles. I am feeling very positive today, hopefully stays that way. So sorry to hear about your miscarriage. I've never truly come to terms with mine. I am a bit worried about my eggs and husband's sperm, as we are both 'sub fertile' which the clinic says. I believe the injection will be at one point and the suppository's after that. My clinic has a calendar on the app to tell me what days I need what meds. Feels very surreal at the moment.

@Ttcforeverandever feeling positive today, and hoping I keep that up, as I have been very up and down with the baby stuff the last few months. How are you feeling?
Im secretly hoping that this month we have conceived naturally, but I doubt that will be the case, just wish it would happen before the IVF, but that's when my hopes get crushed each month.

Eagerlywaiting1990 · 31/12/2024 07:22

Hi everyone, best of luck with the stims and hope the bleeds come on when they are supposed to. I would 100% agree with @FrostedFlake in that I felt really good and proactive with the stims..was just relieved to be making progress.

@IVFlife I too am about to go through a FET. I'm on the medicated protocol so am awaiting my bleed from downregulation before starting oestrogen. Unfortunately my first transfer failed in August. I'm sorry to hear about your miscarriage too, it's devastating. Hopefully it's second time lucky for us both and @FrostedFlake I've got everything crossed for you too....its very hard to go through this again and takes a lot of guts from us all xx

Ttcforeverandever · 31/12/2024 07:42

@Elizabethj89 honestly I'm the same, I've been so up and down, I found it really overwhelming coming to terms with the fact that this is how we're going to end up having a baby when it seems so easy for everyone else. But finally finished norethisterone last night so hopefully I'll start feeling a bit more positive from today!

I felt the exact same the last few months before we started the IVF process, I was convinced each month I was going to be one of those that naturally falls pregnant just before we start so I completely understand how you're feeling.

Fingers crossed there's lots of positive news for everyone soon xx

How is everyone ?

hopefully bleeds have arrived for those waiting

my endo is flaring up so badly in agony , managed to take Friday off unpaid . Struggling today was awake in agony. They’ve agreed I can take codeine but it’s not even helping

making me wonder if 250 dose is maybe too high ?!

@Ttcforeverandever welcome lovely

xx

Oh no, sorry to hear that! Do you think it’s worse than normal as you can’t take strong painkillers? Did it start straight away? And t could be the follicles growing but id say it takes a couple of days for it to fully kick in.
I’m going to be taking 300iu of Pergoveris but as I didn’t have as many follicles as we would have hoped to they have upped my meds slightly.
Hope coedine helps even a little. I wonder why they don’t advise to take painkillers. I have RA and neither of my consultants mentioned anything about painkillers 😭

jenk91 · 31/12/2024 15:03

Hi everyone, hope you don’t mind me joining? Me and husband are in the unexplained infertility bracket, never had a positive test, so feeing anxious but also excited in a way to get started!

I am just starting my first round of ivf, starting stims tonight (gonal f 150), a bit nervous to do the injecting but I’m hoping I will be fine - great way to bring in the new year!

good luck to everyone 💜

Happy New Year everyone. Hoping that 2025 is a special year for all of us!

Sorry to hear you’ve been in so much pain @Rebekah77 . Any better today? Can your clinic give you anything else to help?

My period came yesterday so I’m starting norethisterone on 23rd Jan and got my baseline scan booked for 28th Jan. Hope everyone else’s bleeds are arriving…

How did the first injection go @jenk91 ?
