Anyone starting next month? I'll be on my 4th cycle. I've just bought 2 cycles with manchester fertility and it will be me done. I'm 36, have a low amh of 5.2 and afc 10. I'm doing the estrogen priming protocol so will take estrogen tablets for 7 days starting from day 21. I then take 450 meriofert. I'm not sure whether I am excited or nervous. It has been a year since my last cycle and I'm going to struggle with another loss but wanted to get started again also. No children yet and over 3 years trying. Have blocked tubes and endo xx

Good luck @Rebekah77 , enjoy the day off work and pampering too ❤️

I think I’ll be starting stims at a similar time to you @Nobodyknowsitall5 , currently waiting for my “natural” period to arrive (due on Mon) before starting norethisterone around day 21 of that cycle. So will probably have a baseline scan at the end of Jan and start stims in early Feb… feeling impatient to start after so much waiting!

Best of luck with STIMS today! ☺️

Will this be your first time getting to do the stims? What are you going to be taking? Do you have a baseline scan booked in? Oh no, when it rains it pours! But hopefully this is a great sign ☺️

Im good. Finishing Northisterone tomorrow and waiting for my withdrawal bleed. Hoping to start stims a few days into the new year all going well 🙏

Rebekah77 · 28/12/2024 12:44

No never got to stims not in 18 months lol 😂 so this is very surreal

pergovis is the stim , surgery booked for two weeks

no baseline for me nope near impossible to see my ovaries on scan anyway so I’m having a general for collection

Such a great achievement after so many months of trying! I’m sure you can’t wait for tomorrow to get started!

I’ve had both a GA and sedation and I preferred GA 😅 so you are lucky!

we might be on the same stims ☺️ are you taking Cetrotide by any chance as well?

It’s just annoying having to travel such a long way for a general and the extra £650 ! Hopefully they can hunt down one ovary whilst asleep

not sure excitement is the word lol it’s been cancelled so many times I just can’t believe it can get past the first hurdle !

Pretty sure the meds to stop ovulation are all very similar , I’m due galinerix as I’ve had it sitting around since last December !

long old day at work today and tomorrow, so just get finished and get the dose done !

booked a couple Accupunture for this week just to relax as such a nutty week at work . Infra red will be so so nice

Do you have to go to a different clinic? Is it too intrusive to do under sedation and closer to
home? How far will you have to travel?

accupuncture sounds great! I’d love to get booked in for a few sessions. I know loads of people do it the day of transfer too. What Infra red treatment are you getting done? Is it the warming things they put over you during Accupuncture?

it’s good in a way that you have work to distract you and I hope it’s not too hectic and busy 😊

im due to finish Northisterone today 🙌🏻 and hope my bleed arrives in the next few days

We’re starting our first round in Jan as well. I’m on the long protocol so I started nafarelin nasal sprays yesterday and should be starting stims in the second week of Jan. It’d be nice to chat to others who are going through it at the same time 😊

This is pretty much the same as me. I started my nasal spray a few days ago. Feeling really up and down today - don't know if it's the nasal spray or if I'm just in a bad mood! 😅

I'm also taking iron supplements which make me feel a bit queasy at first.

I'm a bit daunted by the whole process right now. Apparently we'll be having our live embryo transfer on 24th Jan if all goes to plan. My last scan only showed 4 folicles when usually I have around 10, so hoping more show up on the next scan in a few days. I assume they wouldn't advice me to go ahead if they thought waiting another month would be better.....

I have adenoymyosis so the down regulation should apparently help with this And hopefully when everything has 'calmed down' a bit in there they will find more follicles.

Good luck everyone.

P.s Actually think I am a bit scared of NYE and having to face the whole 'why are you not drinking?' questions.

I am due to start the journey of IVF around 11th Jan, waiting for my cycle. We are completing the antagonist cycle. The meds are being delivered on the 8th in preparation. We have opted to go privately as it would have been a 3 year wait on the NHS, making it September 2025. It's already taken so many tests to get where we are now, and my AMH levels are on the lower side so don't want to wait any longer. I've opted for a fresh transfer, but read so many people are opting for frozen, is FET more popular?
We had genetic testing of ourselves before hand, and everything is fine. After all the testing, it's unexplained fertility issues. I have fell pregnant once, and had a MMC at 14 weeks (June 2024) Since then no luck, so we find ourselves on this journey.
I still feel pretty clueless about everything, hope that's somewhat normal, but I was hoping to find somewhere (mumsnet) that I can find advice during this journey.
I wish you all the best on your journeys and that they are successful 🤞🏻

I have finished the pill today and waiting for my withdrawal bleed and hopefully will start stims in the next few days. I’m doing the short protocol and hopefully will do a fresh transfer. I think it’s really personal as to whether you want/are advised to do fresh or frozen.
if you are doing any sort of genetic testing on the embryos it would have to be frozen or if there’s risks like OHSS they also recommend to wait. There’s so many different reasons but I would go with what your consultant has suggested.
our fertilisation rate is quite low and we are lucky if we get one max two embryos so we have decided to go fresh again as it worked for us the last time ❤️

what medication will you be taking?

Elizabethj89 · 29/12/2024 16:39

We were initially recommended to do the FET, but we didn't want to keep waiting and we had completed genetic testing that came back clear, so decided to go with a fresh transfer and can always complete a FET if not successful this time. There's so much to consider, and I feel like it's been nearly a year of tests/scans/procedures, I just want to get started. They didn't advise against the fresh transfer, so I'm hoping all will be okay.
How many attempts have you been through?
The medication that has been prescribed are- Ovaleap, Ovamex, Ovitrelle, Diclofenac, Lubion and Cyclogest.
I've had a whole day making notes and researching, just so I feel somewhat prepared.

Yeah it’s a few hours which is annoying !
yesh they described it as they lean on you / manually manipulate so you wouldn’t want to be awake lol

bloody endo lol

yesh infra red lamps during Accupunture have had a few infra red sauna too

fingers crossed for you bet your glad to be off that !!

OneWaryCat · 29/12/2024 18:31

I think there are pros and cons to fresh and frozen ET - just go with what your consultants advise is best for you. There are certain decisions I'm happy to have taken out of my hands during these complicated and mind boggling processes.

I've had a whole day making notes and researching, just so I feel somewhat prepared.

It had taken us almost a year to get to the stims stage first time around with all the tests and investigations and I remember that it felt like forever and I was so ready to get started. I’m a bit of a control freak and find it hard not being able to be on top of this whole process until it gets to the injections stage so I really look forward to it. We’ve done two rounds and this will be our third. First time around we only got one embryo and unfortunately after a couple of weeks of getting my amh done every second day at the clinic (it felt like such a long period of time) I had a miscarriage. Second time we miraculously got two embryos from only two fertilised eggs and had our son on Valentine’s Day. We still have an embryo frozen but it’s not of a great quality but was just about ok to be frozen. We decided to do another round and hopefully a fresh transfer and this will be our last time doing it.

hopefully they will be able to get a good few good quality eggs and you get a few embryos from it. If that’s the case and if you need to and hopefully you won’t, you could then do a FET.
will you be taking both Lubion and cyclogest at the same time? Would you mind me asking what diclofneac is used for?

Elizabethj89 · 29/12/2024 20:45

That amazing news with having your son. How did you feel with the overall process?
I really hope this time is successful for you.
I never thought I would be going through this journey to have a baby, but I am excited to get started. I am definitely the same in terms of liking to be in control, and this is very unknown to us at the moment.
That was our thought process if we wasn't successful, that hopefully we have enough embryos to freeze and can try again.
Lubion is an injection and the cyclogest are pessaries with I will continue through 1st trimester, if successful. I wasn't sure about diclofneac myself, but after research it seems as though it's a pain relief if I chose to take it on transfer, and I think it helps with relaxing the muscles. I wasn't told any info on that, but hoping I will once I get to the medication phase.

Lozzy000 · 29/12/2024 21:01

@Nobodyknowsitall5 very similar over here! Low AMH and will be starting my 5th cycle this month. I'm priming with oestrogen too. I start that next Friday. I tried long protocol last round but unfortunately ovaries didn't wake up, so going back to short protocol but with priming. Did ovarian PRP last month too as this will be our last shot! Will find out if that's done anything at my first scan.

When do you start priming? X

Rebekah77 · 29/12/2024 21:42

First jab done , didn’t feel anything
glad that’s done
in such bad Endo pain

keeping busy with work , so sad no hot bottle allowed ag just two weeks !

Hope everyone is ok xx

Hey :)
I'm just waiting for day one of my cycle to start. I then take oestrogen tablets for 7 days and then start on the stims. What is your amh? Keep me posted about the prp, I'm very interested in that! What stims are you on?

@Rebekah77 glad to hear you finally got to start your stims :) xx

@Rebekah77 ah exciting that you’ve started stims! Didn’t realise hot water bottles weren’t recommended, I’m a real addict argh…

@Nobodyknowsitall5 bit of a late reply but I’ll be on gonal f, not sure what dose though. I’ve also got fyremadel to take from day 5 of stims (but I think this is for preventing ovulation not strictly a stims drug)

Good luck to everyone waiting for bleeds/starting stims etc. 🍀

Lozzy000 · 30/12/2024 11:54

@Nobodyknowsitall5 my AMH the last time I tested was 1.93pmol. It was 4.4pmol when I started IVF last year so has seriously gone down.... Will defo let you know about PRP results - will get a further AMH test and obvs follicle count when I start this cycle.

My protocol is:

Priming

  • 4mg progynova starting 1 week after ovulation and I believe I'll take this all the way through stims but not 100% sure
  • DHEA (been taking for about 6 months)
  • Usual supplements

Stimulation

  • Dexamethasone
  • Growth hormone
  • Gonal f 225IU for first 5-6 days then change to pergoveris 150IU
  • Fyremadel from day 5-6
  • zivafert as trigger

Previous cycles I've always been on max 450IU stims, so interested to see what a lower dose does.
