Anyone starting next month? I'll be on my 4th cycle. I've just bought 2 cycles with manchester fertility and it will be me done. I'm 36, have a low amh of 5.2 and afc 10. I'm doing the estrogen priming protocol so will take estrogen tablets for 7 days starting from day 21. I then take 450 meriofert. I'm not sure whether I am excited or nervous. It has been a year since my last cycle and I'm going to struggle with another loss but wanted to get started again also. No children yet and over 3 years trying. Have blocked tubes and endo xx

I’ve been all over the place during the TWW, I think you just have to embrace it! I’m In a similar position that I’m planning for a weekend at the end of Feb which would mean seeing one group of friends which includes 4 toddlers and 2 pregnant women plus another group which includes my friend who’s pregnant with IVF twins. If it’s negative on Wednesday I don’t know if I’ll be able to handle it but equally I don’t want to miss out on seeing my friends (who I hardly see as it is) 😕 do you think you’ll cancel in advance of the gig or just wait and see?

@geordienewbie I think we will cancel in advance but only because it was quite an expensive gig so we'd want to sell our tickets and would hate to drop out with our two friends on the day who will be arranging childcare around the evening etc. Want to give them the opportunity to cancel too if they would rather. I think if I was in your situation I might just feign illness the night before if you decide you are not up for it. No need to decide right now, a lot xan happen between now and end of feb. Hopefully it is a BFP for you on Wednesday. Xx

Had our update - got 1 frostie. Disappointed it's not more but so grateful and thankful that we have 1 at least.

I've got egg collection on Wednesday

I had my trigger shot yesterday and lined up for EC tomorrow. Expecting 7-10 eggs to be collected which I’m slightly disheartened with (previously was always around 15-17), although docs said I have a good response to stims. Last cycle back in 2018 from 17 eggs 14 were mature, 11 fertilised and 7 made it to day 5 which is was a good number. Now the docs are telling me the fertilisation and day 5 survival rates will be much lower because of the age, so not sure how many embryos we’ll get…

I know what you mean - it’s really hard, but having 1 frostie is still better than nothing (I had 3 fresh cycles with nothing to freeze and it I was completely broken). Did you transfer 2 during your fresh transfer now?

@NadiaSeq - we only transferred 1 fresh embryo. So got 2 blastocysts from this cycle. I was quite surprised at the drop off rate. It' my first cycle so had no idea what to expect but if I'm completely honest I thought we'd have 4 or 5 embryos. Probably a bit naive.

I can totally see how having nothing to freeze is devastating - it puts so much pressure on.

Good luck for egg collection @NadiaSeq and @Sell123 - will keep my fingers crossed for good numbers .

Had my EC today - 7 eggs, I was so upset almost started crying right there and then. Now hoping that as many can fertilise and progress… With all that expecting a day 3 transfer rather than day 5.

@OneWaryCat I’m sorry it wasn’t the outcome you were hoping for but good news that you have one in the freezer and I have everything crossed for you that your fresh transfer is sticky 🤞

I’ve been spotting for the last few days and yesterday the anxiety got so bad that I had to take a test and as expected it was BFN. I’m still continuing the pessaries until OTD tomorrow but unfortunately this one hasn’t worked. Testing slightly earlier has helped manage the disappointment though. I’m know we’re lucky to have some blasts in the freezer but it’s hard not to get carried away thinking it could have been an October baby 😔

@NadiaSeq well done on getting through collection and I hope you have a smooth recovery. Lots of rest, paracetamol and a hot water bottle worked best for me! I know it must be hard if you expected more but 7 is still a good number. Sending you all the good vibes for your update on fertilisation tomorrow.

So sorry to hear your news @Geordienewbie, I'm really sad for you. It IS SO hard not to get carried away. Your heart and mind runs away with you. I'm glad you have a good amount frozen though, and even with the odds, you have a good chance with that many blasts.

Wait and see what happens with fertilisation @NadiaSeq, you never know, they could all respond well. Crossing my fingers for you.

Sorry to hear that @Geordienewbie lpok after yourself and hopefully you can go again with one of the Frosties soon! I’m waiting to hear when I can do an FET and honestly having the break is actually quite nice physically and mentally, once the initial sadness etc passed, so hope you can feel the same 💜
@NadiaSeq hope you’re feeling ok! Don’t be disheartened, remember quality not quantity! I got 6 eggs and was so sad in Italy, especially when I heard the woman next to me got 19! But then all 6 fertilised and we ended up with 4 good quality embryos so stay positive 💪

Given I’ve started my period while I’m still on progesterone I weirdly feel quite at peace that this transfer probably never would have worked. It is hard not to feel sad about that little embryo and all it might have been though.

@jenk91 I definitely know what you mean about enjoying a break. We’re planning a date night for Friday and I really think it will be good for us to have a night off all things fertility…and have a few cocktails for the first time in a while! Do you have to wait for one full cycle before your FET?

Hi lovely Ladies, I hope everyone is doing okay. We had our final update today and we have a good number of embryos frozen which we are really happy with, so enjoying this time before we start prepping for our FET. Still waiting for my bleed but it's definitely on its way.

@ForeverHopeful17 I feel fine post transfer now, basically feel 'back to normal'. Slightly worried I don't feel like anything is going on but it's still really early and it may not have fully implanted. I have ordered my tests but going to try hold off as long as possible.

Today has been quite a down day. Think me and OH have talked ourselves into thinking it isn't going to happen, and lamenting why we didn't get more blasts overall. I've been very niave about the whole process to be honest. The realities of our chances are feeling more stark.

Sorry to be such a downer, it's just one of those days.

Cocktails sound wonderful @Geordienewbie. We all need to go and have fun every now and again and escape the constant brain drain of thinking about all this. Easier said than done! Hope you are feeling ok today.

Good luck with fertilization @NadiaSeq. We had loads of eggs and only got two blasts so @jenk91 is right, quality over quantity is better.

Hi all. I had my first scan apt today. I've got 5 follies shown at over 12mm so they want to extent my stims. Has this happened to anyone else? I'm on 7th day of stims at 450 merifort. Xx

How long do they want to give it @Nobodyknowsitall5? I did 11 days of stims overall and they decided to give me another week on day 6 to give me more time to grow. I think that's pretty standard.

Hi everyone sorry I've been a bit quiet I've been trying to distract myself for the TWW. I did a test this morning and got a BFP on a FRER and a digital saying 1-2 weeks but now I'm bleeding it's not heavy but it's red so I'm worried. Called the clinic and they just said wait to see if it's heavier tomorrow. Thinking the worst now as surely it's too late for implantation bleeding? I'm 13dp2dt

Congrats on the positive @emeraldhope, that is brilliant news. I've heard a bit of blood/spotting in early stages can be normal if it's not a heavy or full flow? Can totally understand why you feel worried though.

I've got everything crossed for you. Hopefully it will ease off or the clinic can offer more advice tomorrow. Are you using pads to monitor how much there is?

@OneWaryCat thank you! x I really hope so. It's not heavy or full flow luckily, it's only on wiping so haven't needed a pad at the moment. I think if it's my period I will know by the morning so fingers crossed it stops. I'm planning to do a FRER again in the morning to see if it's any darker x
