Hi, I'm currently 3dp5dt (round #2) TTC child #2 at 39yrs

Already feel like it's been 3 weeks not 3 days!

Really sorry @charja100 that must be so heartbreaking to see that. Like the others have said I've also read a lot about people having bleeding and all turned out to be OK. Hoping it's good news for you x

We had our scan today and all looking good 💓 saw a good heartbeat and measuring a couple days ahead, but little one was hiding so was difficult to get a clear image. They said to stop the cyclogest at 8 weeks which really panicked me so they agreed to go to 10 weeks lol. Hopefully that will be ok. Nothing now until the next scan at 12 weeks but will probably look for a private scan in between as it's too long to wait!

I hope everyone else here is getting on OK x

I eventually spoke to the midwife today, got my booking in appointment on the 22nd. Because my BMI is high (got it down to 30 for IVF) but put on a bit of Xmas weight, I'm having to up the folic acid to 5mg. Seems like a lot!!

Hi everyone. So after the attention / evening of bleeding and cramping I got my bloods back from yesterday. They rose from 2699 on Monday to 6411 yesterday. I'm worried that's a slow progression over three days but clinic are happy. They haven't offered me an earlier scan. They've told me to wait out until my scheduled scan on 23rd January.

I haven't had anymore bleeding it stopped after the gush, for lighter and turned darker. Then yesterday and today it's just dark brown spotting when I wipe. Some mild cramps but I suppose I'd expect that anyway.

They've offered me a blood test next week as reassurance if I want it and I probably will. But I'm looking at everyone with these scans and wondering if I should just scheduled a private scan as my mental health is struggling. I think I'm supposed to be 6w now.

I really don't know what to do. What would you all do? And if you did for go for a scan when would you go? I'd prefer to wait until I should be able to see a heartbeat as don't want to cause myself more anxiety.

Hello @charja100 , so glad to hear from you that things didn’t get worse, I imagine it must have been a horrific couple of days for you xx I completely understand the fear and worry, and I have a private scan booked for Monday, when I should be 7w1. I would probably do the same if I were you, I’ve heard that it’s unlikely that you would be able to see anything at 6 weeks so appreciate it’s gonna be a long week for you, but at that stage you should be able to get some answers.

My clinic offered me reassurance blood tests too after I had spotting last week, and so I would probably go for that too if your clinic has offered it. Although a nurse told me yesterday that after your hcg reaches 6000, after about the 6 week point, it typically slows and stops doubling every 48 hours and instead is likely to take 4 days at least to double. I hadn’t heard that before so that was reassuring as my levels hadn’t doubled.

Hi @charja100 that's good to hear your bloods have increased. I would probably book a private scan around 7 weeks for reassurance. Otherwise you're going to spend the next few weeks anxious. I've also heard the same that you're unlikely to see anything before 7 weeks. How many weeks will you be on 23rd? X

@charja100 I think they say HCG doubles every 2-3 days so yours has doubled in that time. Is it possible the bleeding could be the progesterone as I've heard it irritates the cervix? Maybe try it rectally?

Thanks everyone. I'm now in the emergency room as I had another random gush of blood and cramping period, then I started passing huge blood clots half the size of my palm. Called my clinic and they recommended that I come in so I did.

I have been doing the cyclogest rectally since Wednesday so I don't think that's triggered it. I have been on rest since Wednesday too so wonder if it was just a matter of time.

Heavy bleeding lasted about 4 hours and filled a pad per hour but it's subsided now. Been through triage and seen the DR. She said I need to see Gynae now. I know you shouldn't self prescribe but someone in another group I'm in has suggested it could be a subchorionic haemotoma. Having looked into it the clots look / sound the same. Really hoping it's not the end of my journey. I know I'm likely not going to see anything on a scan this early but hoping they do one and I at least see a sac and that I haven't miscarried.

@CakePigeon30 @SAbs86 @Magix86 How are you all doing? Is everything going well?

I have since had two private scans as can’t ever shake off the feeling that something’s gone wrong but thankfully so far everything is great - I saw and heard a heartbeat at 7 weeks (although little one measuring a few days behind) and a couple of days ago at 8 weeks was absolutely blown away by how much it had changed just in a week, has a little face now!

I don’t really have any bad symptoms, other than feeling a bit nauseous all the time and being off a lot of foods, how about you guys?

That's amazing. I opted not to have another private scan but my 12 week scan is on the 7th. Ive already got a little bump and getting stretch marks!

Nausea has subsided, my appetite has definitely increased I can't stop eating. Craving alot of fruit. Have you had any midwife appts yet? X

Such good news about your scans, that must have been lovely to see such a difference in only a week! I have a private scan booked for Sunday as I just can't bear the long wait for the 12 week scan. @SAbs86 you're a warrior for putting up with that wait!
I'm also feeling off my food and generally feeling quite weak physically but no sickness thankfully.

I've joined a WhatsApp group with a few other ladies that had IVF and are due in August, if you'd like to join? It's a small, supportive group 😊

@SAbs86 congratulations on your bump! I can totally relate to the fruit thing, I can’t stop thinking about melon and grapefruit and lemons.

@Magix86 I know I go back and forth with it! Work is so busy at the moment though that time is flying so I haven't had time to worry about it. Maybe that's a good thing!

@triselly I am obsessed at the moment with grapes and nectarines! By the end of the day though my bump is huge I literally look about 5 months pregnant and it's hard to hide 🙈 what is your due date?

@SAbs86 of course! I think you're a bit ahead of me, my due date should be 27th August. But at my 7 week scan they said i was measuring 2 days ahead. When is yours?
It's so good to stay busy but I just can't think of anything else atm. I think I'll relax a little if our scan at the weekend goes OK.

Hi everyone. Sorry for the delay I've needed space and time.

I had a scan finally last Thursday and confirmed miscarriage. Fifth failed transfer.
I'm going to leave this thread as it's too painful but wish you all the most happiness.

I am so incredibly sorry. I know there's no words that can help at this stage. Practice all the self care you need and do it whatever it takes to get you through this. Wishing you the best of luck for the future xx

Hi @triselly @Magix86 @CakePigeon30 how are you getting on? I had my 12 week scan today and all went well 🤞🏽 baby is measuring on track.

I also had my screening bloods back and all looks ok. The risk of Trisomy 1 is in 2525 not sure if you all had your bloods back for this? Seems higher odds than others but midwife wasn't concerned. X

Hi @SAbs86 great news on the scan! I haven't got mine for another 10 days 😔 the wait is killing me! Did you get your blood results back the same day then? I have no experience of this yet sorry, I'm a bit behind you but if the Midwife isn't concerned then I'd take that to be reassuring. Can you ask them for more info if you're feeling unsure?

@Magix86 Yeah it was really hard for me too! Feels like it took forever to get to today. Yes the blood test was last week and results today as they also took measurements and entered everything into the computer. Yes I asked them all the questions 😅 it's just me over worrying. I did also get all my embryos PGT A tested which also gives me reassurance.

How are you feeling otherwise? My appetite has definitely increased! It's getting harder to hide my bump.
