Hi all ☺️

I have had an IVF round in November and had a freeze all cycle. I have had a meeting with the consultant this morning and will be doing a FET in late December/early Jan.

Please join this thread if you are on a similar timescale πŸ’«

@paintfairy so pleased to hear your transfer is done after all the faffing with the clinic πŸ‘πŸ» will you wait until OTD?!

Yay, well done @paintfairy ! God your OTD seems a long time after transfer!

Yeah, you do wonder if AF might get you before the test date! (If it hadn't worked that is). I'm not sure all clinics wait 2 weeks? Tight so and so's didn't even give me a test mind! Definitely did last time. πŸ™„

Mseddy · 17/02/2025 17:11

@paintfairy congrats on being PUPO! My clinic didn't give me a test either. The deffo did with DD and the two embryos before that. I mean they gave me a clear blue one so I judged their shit taste in pregnancy tests anyway πŸ˜‚ my clinic also has OTD really late. Are you with a care fertility clinic?

paintfairy · 17/02/2025 17:52

@Mseddy I am actually!
@Cosyseason1234 not planning on testing too early. But I'll see how things go.

Mseddy · 17/02/2025 18:00

@paintfairy long OTDs and no free test, cares new reputation. My clinic wasn't care when I had DD. It was still Leeds fertility clinic. It changed to care about 18m ago. I've found the app useful for contact, but the prices are definitely higher!

I hope you don't get AF during the wait, that would be a heart breaking way to find out. Fingers crossed it's a success!

My clinics OTD works out equivalent to 16dpo, so it was 11 days after transfer. Even though only a few days earlier, it seems a much shorter time to wait

paintfairy · 17/02/2025 18:36

@Mseddy they've always had a long OTD but they did used to give out tests. Definitely expensive compared to some. They also used to open Saturdays and don't now. We won't do another round if this doesn't work, but if we were doing then I think I'd look elsewhere. The admin side was terrible and the prices are steep.
@Waitingformystork who knows but it's a possible, that late? I usually spot when my hormones start dropping, so that would be a sign for me also.

Daniki · 18/02/2025 10:18

@Purpleflowers17 hey just wondering how you're getting on? My tests have been getting darker and had a dye stealer this morn, clearblue says 2-3 which settled me as means it should be over 153 at least. Supposed to be 5 weeks tomorrow! Have you had a viability scan or repeat bloods yet? I'm in for bloods today but won't get results until thurs 🫨

Waitingformystork · 19/02/2025 12:11

I don't know if anyone else has tried to get the rest of their medication from the GP. But my GP has said they'll issue the prescription, but I need a letter from my clinic on what I need. My clinic are being really difficult about providing this letter, and only suggesting to give me a private prescription or order the meds through their own service. It's very frustrating, I'm just trying to save a bit of money at no cost to them!
Does anyone know if it's worth getting a private prescription? I think I'll have to pay Β£60 for it, and the progesterone pessaries look to be Β£26.25 from Asda. So it'll be a total cost of Β£138.75. Is that cheaper than buying directly from the private pharmacy? My clinic uses Stork, and I'm looking at getting 3 boxes (63 capsules) of progesterone pessaries (utrogestan)

Cosyseason1234 · 19/02/2025 12:20

Hi @Waitingformystork

I had this exact situation last week. I screen shot my treatment protocol from my app and the GP very kindly accepted that, I worked out the amount of boxes I would need and put that on the email as well.

good luck,it’s so frustrating!

I have an email from the clinic saying I need 3 boxes of utrogestan, but that's not enough for my gp sadly. They have said that they won't charge me for a private prescription, so I'm wondering about doing that, and giving that to the gp to issue me an nhs prescription. But it's quite a bit of hassle when I need the meds before Saturday!

Waitingformystork · 19/02/2025 12:24

Was it easy enough to find the meds you needed from a local pharmacy@Cosyseason1234 ? They didn't need to order them in?

Cosyseason1234 · 19/02/2025 13:07

My clinic quoted me Β£250 for a private prescription so it’s really good that yours are saying they won’t charge for it πŸ‘πŸ»

my clinic has an Asda right next to it,I popped in there and they said they normally have fertility meds in and if not it’s next day delivery to them.

I think I’d go for the free private prescription and Asda if I were you? Or speak to your GP and see how long the turnaround would be for them to put it on an NHS script for you.

I’ve been having a nightmare 😩 my 1yo has strep A and at 2am this morning I’ve come down with food poisoning or a stomach bug, constant V&D since 2am 😩 stressing this is going to cause miscarriage

paintfairy · 19/02/2025 13:50

@Cosyseason1234 my clinic is Β£250 too, which is outrageous.
@Waitingformystork I suspect the clinics get a fee for you using their dedicated pharmacy and so it actually will cost the clinic, indirectly. Mine use stork. I'm on cyclogest but if it helps they cost Β£159.15 for 6 boxes (15 in a box) 400mg from stork.
@MS2692 I'm sure they are more protected than you think! But I understand your worry. Not good timing and extra worry isn't helpful. I hope you feel better soon.

Waitingformystork · 19/02/2025 14:01

Thanks for all of the advice! I've gone with the private prescription, and sent it to my gp. They've said it'll be up to a 2 day turn around to re-issue the prescription, which would be just in time. I think I'll give Asda a call tomorrow to see if they have the meds in stock, and potentially just use the private prescription. I like to create hassle for myself 😫

@MS2692 I'm sorry to hear you've got a terrible bug! People with HG can experience symptoms as early as 4 weeks pregnancy, and they manage to have healthy babies even when losing large amounts of weight. So I really hope it's not a cause for miscarriage, but I understand the concern!

Cosyseason1234 · 19/02/2025 14:11

@MS2692 so sorry to hear this! Hope you and your toddler are ok ❀️ try not to worry about the bug,I went white water rafting in Bali and had awful food poisoning plus a 20 hour flight back to UK before finding out I was pregnant with my son and he was absolutely fine. They are tough! Xx

MS2692 · 19/02/2025 14:13

@paintfairy @Waitingformystork @Cosyseason1234 thank you so much for the reassurance it really helps ❀️

Daniki · 19/02/2025 14:15

@MS2692 embryos are tough they're snug in there, I had bowel surgery when I was 9 weeks pregnant with my son and he was born not a bother on him πŸ₯°

Mseddy · 19/02/2025 18:41

@MS2692 sorry you and DC are poorly. It was likely strep A that caused my quinsy the week before last and my embryo still managed to implant. I think illness has less of an impact than we imagine it will. Hope you are all feeling better soon. Make sure you drink plenty

Daniki · 20/02/2025 10:48

I got my beta results from Tuesdays blood test, 350. So defo more than doubled from Fridays testing 54.4. My tests are really dark/dye stealers so hoping it was just a slow starter and nothing more sinister πŸ˜–
