Anyone doing FET/IVF in November 2024?✨

Hello MN

I started a thread for ivf in September but ended up having a freeze all cycle and lots of people on said thread have moved on to BFPs etc. Due to have FET at the start of November so hoping to chat to others in a similar situ ☺️

Bit about me: first ever round, been trying for 2 years, have blocked tubes and have 14 embryos in the freezer thanks to successful egg collection in September.

Sending baby dust and good vibes to one and all!!✨✨✨

@Thatslifethatsit @MrsBP15 thanks both. It does seem very low - maybe it's not the full meds, and just downregulation or downregulation +stims but not what's needed for transfer.
I think the paperwork they gave us said to expect between £400 and £1800 for meds, it just seems very low as I expected it to be on the higher side for me and would happily pay more if it was more likely to be successful. I guess I'll have to ask them when I have my medication appt next week.

Thatslifethatsit · 28/10/2024 14:06

@Confusedddddddd medication appointment will probably clarify - my drugs are for everything I have a price for each individual one plus the admin fee for sending them out

Welcome @Annie1306 hopefully you find this thread useful. Lots of people on here currently going through ivf ☺️

Thanks @MrsBP15 for tagging !

My story. I am 39 years old turning 40 in April. Got 3 funded rounds from NHS England and started my IVF at Bournehall Cambridge. Tried naturally for 2 years and nothing. Have no children of our own yet. I had many complexities including blocked tubes( I got removed one privately ), severe endometriosis, weird pelvic anatomy causing access to ovary restricted and the major one having 0.3 AMH and FSH of 25+ !

I just started ovaleap 300 injections yesterday and with the plan that they have created for me, if all goes well then egg collection is 8th Nov. I will know on 1st November scan if anything is growing ( I really hope so ).

My periods had been here and there so they gave me the tablets to regulate my cycles and I got periods only for 2.5 days & then started taking ovaleap. I am with Bournehall Cambridge.

Anyone in same boat with low amh and high fsh ? Please help me by sharing your experience. Thank you!!

Maruapula · 28/10/2024 19:54

@MrsBP15 this will be my first frozen transfer after a failed fresh transfer in September. Really hoping it works this time! Think it will likely be mid-November for transfer depending on dates!

@Confusedddddddd my egg collection and fresh transfer was £2300 for meds but my natural modified FET this time was only £150! So that was a very pleasant surprise as it adds up so fast!

huge good luck to everyone over the next few weeks!

Thatslifethatsit · 28/10/2024 20:30

@Annie1306 different scenario from you but started my drugs today so hoping all the best for all of us
@Maruapula fingers crossed for you and hopeful for us all

Confusedddddddd · 28/10/2024 21:51

@Annie1306 wow I really have my fingers crossed for you.
I share some of your issues in that my ovaries aren't that easily accessible, one can easily be seen with a small cyst. The only has 3 cysts though one might have burst on the last scan but they struggled to see follicles because of them. Plan is to possibly aspirate the cysts during egg collection. AMH is 11 though.
I also had an endo removal during a ruptured ectopic but it turned out not to be endo in biopsy, which I think is part of my issues - I had unnecessary surgery - I had one cyst before the surgery then 3 months after the surgery I had 4!

MrsBP15 · 29/10/2024 11:41

@Maruapula im sorry the fresh transfer didn’t work but got everything crossed for you for the frozen transfer! Are you doing anything different diet or supplements wise? Sending lots of baby dust ✨

Has anyone got experience with Progynova tablets? I’m taking four a day but it is a low dose, 2mg. I’m just wondering if anyone has had any side effects? I’m feeling really tired and felt a little nauseous earlier. I’ve also been getting some back twinges and I’ve been super emotional (though that could just be me) 😭

Hello!

I am starting IVF in early November, currently on Norethisterone for a few more days. I am at Bourn Hall in Cambridge.
I've seen some earlier conversations about Norethisterone - using it for a few days before bleeding does not make it a long protocol. It is a timed short protocol and taking the pills doesn't bring any benefits for the patient - it only ensures your egg collection and transfer are not going to fall on a Sunday, because Doctors and nurses are people too :)

@FondantEclair we are in same clinic. I am on my ovaleap injections and on day 3 of injections now. I am scan booked on 1st nov

monica3287 · 29/10/2024 17:06

How is everyone doing?

I'm going to my first scan tomorrow, after 5 days of injections (and with the right needles for the last few nights! 😅).

I am intrigued, as it's our first round, to see what's going on in there, if anything.

I was with a friend on the weekend who has just had a successful round of private IVF, she had a lot of tips for me... like drinking milk, stuff that her clinic had told her. Made me think I haven't been asking a lot of questions... nice to reference what everyone is chatting about here :)

Anyone else approaching first scans?

Annie1306 · 29/10/2024 18:34

I am on third day of ovaleap 300 injections. I wonder if anyone had any effects or changes in body that might indicate that the drugs are working? I just have minor cramps and get exhausted. But no bloating etc. With my AMH, i am wondering if the drugs are making my ovaries work?

Emerald1986 · 29/10/2024 20:06

Medication has arrived today ready to start Norethisterone tomorrow. Exciting times! Good luck everyone!

It's still early days. I've had a previous IVF treatment abroad and did not feel much in the beginning - I walked 4 hours continuously on the first day, wondering what the fuss is all about. I was also thinking maybe I'm getting too small a dose and I could do with more, but Drs need to consider the risk of OHSS as well. It gradually got more difficult as the days went by - in the first days the eggs are a few mm in size and they should get up to 2cm each at the end of the treatment, so you will get more bloated too. Indeed, I was more tired than usual, and quite emotional, but did not go haywire. During pregnancy hormones should really kick in, nothing compared to what you get through injections.
So I would not worry at this time. The scan will tell if the treatment you got is suitable for you.

@FondantEclair thanks so much for this ! This is releaving to hear. I will wait and watch to see how things flow.

MrsBP15 · 30/10/2024 10:32

Hi @monica3287 I’m not approaching scan for EC as I’ve already done that but do have my first (and only) scan for transfer on Friday. I’m intrigued to see what the meds I’ve been taking have done. It’s always a bit weird to be taking something and not really knowing if it’s doing anything! With my EC I had two scans and they couldn’t see my right ovary very well, think it was tucked away. They could see about 15 follicles on the left side and because they couldn’t see the right side they discounted it slightly. Turns out it had just as many and we ended up with loads of eggs and delayed transfer due to OHSS risk! It was all a bit of whirlwind from thinking one of my ovaries just wasn’t playing ball 🤷🏼‍♀️

MrsBP15 · 30/10/2024 10:37

Hi @Annie1306 i had my EC in September and was on ovaleap. I had barely any symptoms the entire time. I did get some headaches but not every day and these were relieved by taking some paracetamol. I felt nothing in my ovaries/abdomen until I took the trigger and then I was a bit sensitive for a day or so. I had no bloating, nothing the rest of the time and I generally felt quite happy! They ended up collecting 38 eggs so I don’t think not having symptoms means you aren’t reacting well to the meds. Then again we are all different!

@Annie1306 @FondantEclair I'm also at the same clinic 🙂 a little behind you on my treatment tho - starting norethisterone next week. Would be really helpful to hear how you've gotten on with the meds over the next week or so! I'm worried about messing up the injections, or the timing being off if I dont have my bleed in time after the norethisterone. Also terrified of something happening to mean we end up with a cancelled cycle as it's our only funded round.
Hope everyone here is getting on OK!

So although I'm on completely different medication, it's doing the same thing and I'm on almost the same timeline as you for frozen transfer. I've also been really tired (been blaming it on work) a touch nauseous most days and very very emotional! Which is really not like me at all, I almost cried just thinking about my dog earlier 😂🤦🏻

All the best @Magix86 . I know how you feel. I am sure we all know and have this scary thoughts. The medicine didn't make me feel anything. I bled in the second last day that they had mentioned that I will bleed. It wasn't very bad bleed but I did had cramps the first day but it was just 2.5 days of bleeding. I started injections on the day they asked. I am soooo scared of needles so it's my dear husband who leads that bit. Today is day 4 of injection. I feel exhausted in the afternoon and bit tired but in the night when I should be sleeping, I found i am unable to sleep at my regular time. I normally hit the bed @ 8 pm. I have some mild cramps and today I felt a little more than yesterday but nothing unbearable. Tomorrow I just want to sleep whole day !!

PS: I am also in middle of switching job so it's more hectic and exhausting may be due to that for me. I work from home. My last day at my current work tomorrow and starting at new job on 4th nov.

MrsBP15 · 30/10/2024 21:22

@Painty04 how are you getting on? Have you had any scans yet? I’m shattered and can’t blame work as I’m signed off and getting a fair amount of sleep. Got loooooads of CM today too which is interesting! I woke up with the work headache EVER it subsided after some paracetamol and water thankfully! Don’t get me started on the crying 😭 I’m a wreck!!

@monica3287 my first attempt no symptoms and no eggs so end of round my second round no symptoms during stims - 2eggs poor quality related to not enough stims
round 3 more stims bloated and uncomfortable 9 massive follicles 2 embryos got a baby!
3days into stims today and I am bloated and tired - been walking and cooking

Painty04 · 30/10/2024 21:36

@MrsBP15 I'm doing ok on the whole, first scan will be Monday, so just a couple days behind you. I've also noticed a real increase of CM the past couple of days, which I was not expecting 😂 no headaches thankfully! Are you feeling better? Is having time off work helping you?
