Anyone doing FET/IVF in November 2024?✨

Hello MN

I started a thread for ivf in September but ended up having a freeze all cycle and lots of people on said thread have moved on to BFPs etc. Due to have FET at the start of November so hoping to chat to others in a similar situ ☺️

Bit about me: first ever round, been trying for 2 years, have blocked tubes and have 14 embryos in the freezer thanks to successful egg collection in September.

Sending baby dust and good vibes to one and all!!✨✨✨

@MrsBP15 thank you - that means a lot. We actually have access to unlimited implications counselling as we're going with donor sperm. We've had one session and I think we'll book a follow up session soon. We're also going to go to a support group our clinic runs - I'm not particularly keen on this myself but my partner wants to. Had a couple of weeks off acupuncture but going back this week. I'm sure that will help with the anxiety if nothing else!

MrsBP15 · 24/10/2024 10:00

@Magix86 thats great that so much support is offered. If I could go back in time I would definitely do the therapy much sooner, I think it has really helped me process everything. Sounds like you and your partner are putting in the work which is great 😊 of course there can be a lot of support here as well which is super helpful. Hope you’re having a good week so far 😌 xx

Morning all! So my period came yesterday which means I’ve started taking Progynova. Never thought I’d be excited to start my period especially as mine are so heavy and painful but there we are 🫠 I’m also full of cold which is super fun but loading up vit c etc in the hopes that I’ll be better soon! Anyone else started meds for frozen transfer? @Painty04 how are you getting on?

@MrsBP15 It's funny how the thing we always dread suddenly becomes a marker for the start of something exciting 😃 I'm sorry to hear you're full of a cold, hopefully you feel better soon 🤞

I actually started my meds yesterday as my period came a little early. I'm on estradiol 3 times a day

MrsBP15 · 25/10/2024 14:15

@Painty04 thats great! Do you have a date for your first scan or anything? Mine is next Friday morning. I have to take my tablets four times a day, hoping there aren’t too many side effects but then again, would still be taking them even if there were! This cold is a bit shit but happy to be having it now rather than in two weeks time.

yes it did, thank you @MrsBP15 :) and right back at you. you have been a lovely contact for me over these last few months, and so thanks for the invite here.

hello all!

first time IVF, CD 2, and starting my injections tonight! we are going to be short protocol, I've got 4 scans booked in. feeling a mixture of excitement and nerves.

i've just got back from an acupuncture session, which has been very good for me in terms of calming nerves and helping to regulate my cycle.

and yes same @Magix86 the posts here on exercise and diet are very helpful - keep them coming. i haven't been told any of that stuff yet. also fun recipe ideas, i just want to eat mac and cheese whilst it's grey and damp here, i know one or two of those is ok, but i went for some greens and fish in the supermarket instead.

Painty04 · 25/10/2024 20:54

@MrsBP15 Yes! So got my schedule-

  • Scan is booked Mon 4th
  • Start progesterone pessaries on Wed 6th
  • Blood test Fri 8th
  • All being well 🤞 Transfer Mon 11th

I was lucky enough not to really have any side effects with all the drugs involved for IVF/egg collection etc. in Sep, so hoping that luck carries over and I continue to feel ok with these tablets. Though as you say, I'll continue taking them regardless of how they make me feel 🤣

How's time away from work treating you? Are you feeling better? (Apart from the horrible cold)

MrsBP15 · 26/10/2024 09:48

You’re welcome @monica3287 how did the injection go last night? Hope it was ok? For recipe ideas I can recommend this book. We sometimes modify some of them slightly but it’s a great guide with some really yummy meals:

@Painty04 that’s exciting! Mine is:

• scan Friday 1st Nov
•start pessaries Sunday 3rd Nov
• transfer Thursday 7th November

Dont have a blood test that I can see 🤷🏼‍♀️ I was like you and didn’t really have side effects with the meds from September other than some slight headaches towards the end. Didn’t have any bloating or anything so fingers crossed 🤞🏻

I’m feeling ok at the moment. Been on holiday this week so next week will be the first week of me being signed off. It’s good because it should all line up with this next weekend have of treatment which quite pleased about.

Feels like things are finally getting underway now. Medication delivery planned for tuesday. Starting Norethisterone next week, scan on 7th with the plan to start menopur and rekoville from the 13th. Egg collection at the very end of November 25th or 27th) assuming every goes as anticipated

MrsBP15 · 27/10/2024 08:19

How exciting @Emerald1986 hiw are you feeling about the injections? I was a little nervous but they were absolutely fine and I got used to them very quickly. Are you planning on doing a fresh transfer?

OP posts:
monica3287 · 27/10/2024 11:08

thank you @MrsBP15 - i will get ordering that book!

erm, injections were interesting! i thought i was pretty calm but when it came to it, was a bit nervous. i ended up injecting myself with the mixing needle, instead of the smaller needle! eeeek!

rectified that mistake yesterday.

i'm on menopur for 2 days, and then rekovelle pens for the rest of the time. how are you feeling? you said you had a cold?

Emerald1986 · 27/10/2024 15:20

Thanks @MrsBP15. Feeling OK about the injections, if I get squimish beforehand I'll just get the hubby to jab me 🤣.

@monica3287 sounds like we are on the same protocol, and I'm also on my first round (although I'm anticipating icsi due to male factors)!

monica3287 · 27/10/2024 17:24

Hey @Emerald1986 - ah yes! We’ve actually been told we’ll have ICSI already.

What is your Norethisterone for? If you don’t mind me asking! Do you have your mcg for both M + R?

Emerald1986 · 27/10/2024 20:09

@monica3287 my cycle isn't always regular (varies between 26-33 days) so the norethisterone is to ensure the cycle should start on the planned date

I'm prescribed 300 menopur and 12mcg of Rekovelle

Maruapula · 27/10/2024 20:30

Hi everyone, can I join please?

I’m due to start my FET in November as soon as my period starts, as long as my scans look good (there is still an area of healing from my egg collection in September) after a failed fresh transfer last time. It’s all so unpredictable and such a rollercoaster!

I’m doing a natural modified cycle this time so only one injection this time at least! Hope everyone on the injections is doing okay! You’ve got this 💪

Confusedddddddd · 28/10/2024 08:43

Out of interest, for those doing a full IVF round, how much are you paying for meds? I've been told it'll be £530 which I pay directly to the clinic, but it seems cheap, I thought it'd be closer to £2000 considering I'm older (lower amh), heavier and doing what I think is long protocol.

MrsBP15 · 28/10/2024 09:04

Well done @monica3287 the first few are a bit daunting but then I found I got into a rhythm with it. I’m doing ok, cold lingering slightly but certainly better than I was! Think you can get that book on Amazon, hope you find it useful!

OP posts:
MrsBP15 · 28/10/2024 09:05

@Emerald1986y husband did quite a few for me and I got him to do the trigger as well as I was too nervous (my needle for that was a little bigger) hope delivery of meds goes smoothly, I expect you are looking forward to getting started!

OP posts:
MrsBP15 · 28/10/2024 09:08

Welcome @Maruapula how are you? Is this your first round? I’m having a delayed FET next week (hopefully) due to being at risk of ohss from egg collection. You’re certainly right to describe it as a rollercoaster, I’ve already had so many highs and lows!!

OP posts:
Thatslifethatsit · 28/10/2024 09:10

@Confusedddddddd £2500 the drug I was supposed to have is out of stock so the one available is more expensive I’m short protocol

baseline scan for me today eeek!

MrsBP15 · 28/10/2024 09:12

@Confusedddddddd I think when all is done we will have paid about £1,200 for meds. So that’s everything we needed for egg collection (injections) and then oral medication and pessaries for frozen transfer. I can look out what exactly we were on if that’s helpful? I can’t keep track of it all off the top of my head!

OP posts:
MrsBP15 · 28/10/2024 09:13

@Confusedddddddd I’ve been on a “short” protocol by the way
