Anyone doing FET/IVF in November 2024?✨

I started a thread for ivf in September but ended up having a freeze all cycle and lots of people on said thread have moved on to BFPs etc. Due to have FET at the start of November so hoping to chat to others in a similar situ ☺️

Bit about me: first ever round, been trying for 2 years, have blocked tubes and have 14 embryos in the freezer thanks to successful egg collection in September.

My updates: I have signed up for the counselling sessions, I have two included.
Now waiting for the period to arrive. I ordered some protein meals for when the treatment starts from one of those subscription box services.

Phew! So clinic called me and have asked me to start taking pessaries tonight for a transfer on Thursday! I’m already super excited and super nervous!😬

I was in June thread but didn't work out.
I see some familiar names though so glad to see others trying again!!
I have a scan Monday morning and will have the egg collection date decided then.. either Wednesday or Thursday.

A lot more relaxed 2nd time around.

I am in a same sex relationship and my partner started her injections last week, we have a scan on Monday to see how her follicles are doing and then hopefully egg collection on Wednesday.

Is this your first cycle?
It's our second try.

I think 🤔 very much think I may have FET this month... waiting for day 1 of period before I can let the clinic know ☺️

Hi all. I'm in the middle of my icsi cycle, started my 2nd round of injections last Thursday and hubby started antibiotics. Back up for scan on Friday to see how many or how big my follicles are.
Hope everyone is keeping well

So cycle 1 i had 10 follicles.
Today 4. But deflated but doctor is all for still going ahead so retrieval is Wednesday!
I'm not sure how to feel as Nurse was negative this morning and Doc is positive.
I know it only takes one egg and that's what we keep telling ourselves.
I just hope we get 3 or 4 eggs.

@ClaireBear101 in our first cycle we got 8 , 5 fertilised and 2 put in freezer and 1 day 5 transfer which resulted in our son. At the time our doctor wanted to cancel but we flipped a coin 3 times and that's how we decided to go ahead.

Another update from me, day one of period was yesterday but clinic are unsure if they can fit me in for FET this month so I need to call again on Thursday and see if there's space so still unsure whether we will get to transfer this month or not.
If not this month then I think it would be January. The way timings work out for Dec I think it puts me to close to Christmas closing days so there's a chance we might not be able to transfer and would have high chance of cancelling at last minute. I'm booked for Dec now anyway but unsure whether to go for it or leave it until January when it would be better timing wise

@Scorbunny2 That's amazing to hear! I do worry i have half the amount of follicles but trying to stay positive!
Doc seems positive based on our first try that the follicles are better quality so hoping eggs will be too and all I need is one egg to fertilise as far as I'm concerned.

we had a scan today which told us that 3 follicles have charged up ahead, bigger than the others, and so to expect a call on whether to trigger tonight, for EC on Wednesday.

they've just rang to say they are going to hold off, risk losing those follicles that are out in front, and go ahead with the original plan for EC on Friday.

i can't recall what the other follicles were doing on the chart, just that they were smaller. from what i'm reading above, this seems in line with what some of you are experiencing / have experienced? and that in the last few days, things can pick up?

Sending you all the best @ClaireBear101 i have heard so many positives (to the point of ending up with a baby) with less than that. I know it’s hard but it’s always good to try and remain a little positive, it’s not over till it’s over! It’s all about quality!!

@pinksheetss are you with nhs or private? I’ve not heard of clinics not being able to fit someone in, very frustrating for you. I hope they can let you know either way soon. Is this your first FET? If it were me I’d probably go for Jan just so I could relax a little over Christmas.

@monica3287 i would certainly say don’t underestimate the power of the trigger and the extra days of injections. Pretty sure stuff for me doubled in that time! Got everything crossed for you for Friday 🤞🏻

As mentioned I’ve got my transfer on Thursday afternoon. I’m not at work at the moment so just trying to take it easy. Eating well, walking, yoga, acupuncture. There was an outbreak of norovirus at my husbands work which has made me a bit paranoid so I’m just laying low a bit, avoiding crowds that kind of thing.

Hey @MrsBP15 all good so far, went for my scan today and my lining is at 9.3 so they're happy for me to start pessaries on Wednesday. The blood test on Friday will be the deciding factor on whether I get transfer on Monday 🤞

How are you getting on with the pessaries? 🤣 They're quite something aren't they!

@MrsBP15 it's always good to hear positives. Google is an enemy and friend as been looking up success stories with low amount of follicles and they are out there. Thank you for the positive vibes!!

@MrsBP15 we are self funded but it's at an NHS location so think that's partly why :(
Will find out on Thursday I think if they have space.
We've decided we'll wait til January if we can't get a transfer this month. I think it's because my transfer date would land on Xmas Eve/xmas day/boxing day so not likely to happen. I'd rather not go through all the scans etc and then get to 22nd Dec and find out we can't do it and have to push to following month anyway

If of any help, on my first IVF the follicles were of different sizes and the Dr oscillated between doing the egg collection and continue treatment for another day. What decided was blood tests, estradiol levels of over 3000, and I was ready for collection.

@ClaireBear101 it is our first cycle, so exciting times. Good luck for Wednesday, we had confirmation today that our retrieval will be on Weds too, much to our surprise, something is finally going right. So nerves are kicking in now, but also excitement!

I really cannot believe that we are actually having EC on Friday, after over a year of getting to this point (my partner had to have a polyp removed, then problems with thyroid), it’s finally happening!

@pinksheetss ah ok gosh I’m sorry that this is happening despite being self funded. We’ve never had any issues (also self funded) but it must vary clinic to clinic. I completely agree with your thinking re December, that’s what I would do. Fingers crossed it’s good news on Thursday.

@ClaireBear101 i am not a fan of doctor google myself (though I totally see why people go there) I have everything crossed for you tomorrow that they get some good eggs 🥚

@Painty04 yay! I was 9.5mm I think. Yes pessaries are currently going in up the vag but I’m thinking of switching to the old bum or giving it a go at least 🤣 fun times! Got everything crossed for you 🤞🏻

I’m just chilling (again) today looking forward to Thursday. Anyone who has had a transfer (or anyone at all) got any advice for me? It seems like there isn’t much to be done but I’m willing to try!! I’m def getting some McDonalds fries 🍟 on the way home. I’m sure it’s an old wives tale but why not hey!

@MrsBP15 when I had embryo transfer I took 3 days off work literally stayed at home only went for walks. My oh drove me there and back and no stress that was it. good luck for Thursday

@pinksheetss hope they have space for you on Thursday but if not sounds like you have a good plan. I think that helps mentally knowing options - we are self funded now but not heard of clinics not having space

down regulation middle of cycle

has anyone experienced a long cycle 50+ days but thin lining, I’m due to start FET and was advised since lining is thin, and only small follicles I can start downregulation with synarel and prepare lining within this cycle instead of waiting for period. Have only had withdrawal bleed after egg retrieval and no second bleed.

@MrsBP15 my advice is just relax and stay look after you. My last transfer I was so stressed and really it's not so bad. What will be will be. I know I'm nervous with low amount of follicles but hey gotta keep trying. All about the end goal!

@San123456 I don't have any experience with long cycle but trust the experts and best of luck!
