TWW Fresh Embryo Transfer Symptoms

LimeTurtle · 17/09/2024 13:43

Hi everyone !

I am currently 5 days past a 5 day fresh embryo transfer. I've had slight cramping and lower back pain since day 1 as well as very vivid dreams.
Could these be symptoms that the embryo has implanted ? Or just a side effect of my progesterone pessaries.

We have male infertility factor and my AMH levels and lining were good when I had the transfer. My period is due a week today so I'm now worrying it's just my period coming early before my official test day which would be odd as I'm very regular!
:(

Just feeling a little lonely in this two week wait as I've never wanted something so much !
Any success stories with similar symptoms would be great ?

Thank you in advance 😊

@LimeTurtle oh that sucks about the appointments being cancelled but I’m glad that you have reassurance with baby moving so much! And hiccups!! 😍 When I was first pregnant the thought of going from week 20 until week 34 was impossible and I was going to book a private scan but with feeling baby move I felt so good and calm about it I didn’t bother!
No, I don’t think I’ll be earlier than the due date, I really don’t want to, to be honest. My husband is waiting for spinal surgery, possibly next week or the week after and has to be in for a week after surgery, so this baby has to stay put until he’s out of hospital and can be there at the birth. After all the treatment we’ve been through I’d be gutted if he missed it. I’ve been having stern words with the baby every night, about how we must work as a team, and it’s cool to be fashionably late🫣😂
@Natasha90 Try not to worry about baby being head down (I know I did lol) at 32+4 baby was head up and then at 34+1 magically it was head down 🤷🏼‍♀️ I didn’t feel it happen and didn’t notice any difference. I had been feeling a round lump in the top/side of my tummy thinking it was baby’s head… and I’d been stroking its bum for the past who knows how long 🤭 There’s still plenty of time from now until 36 weeks, which they say is still very normal for baby to turn in that time. Yay that you’re finishing work next week 👏 I’m still going at the moment and should finish in two more weeks, at the 38w mark. It’s getting tough though I’ll be honest.

Hey guys!!

Oh man I'm defo struggling now 😅 everything is just an effort isn't it?? Properly hit me last week and am 35 weeks now and just constantly wiped out, it's alot! But we are on the last bit now we can do this!! Babys movements with him being so big feel like so much pressure on my belly it's wild.

I had to do my second glucose test last week as baby was measuring so big at my growth scans, was negative again so hopefully they'll leave me alone now and accept I'm just having a big bubs due to dad's genes 🤣🤣 i have my last growth scan and consultant appointment on Thursday where we should be booking my c section in, terrifying!! how's everyone doing with hospital bags and stuff? I think I'm nearly there, just a few last bits to go in there and I should be good to go. Defo feeling now like I need to massively slow down, and just rest up at home!

Kaybee1989 · 29/04/2025 12:45

@cbear1989 omg yes I couldn’t have said it better myself. I’m shattered!
Im in Spain and after yesterday with the power outage, it’s gotten my bum in gear to pack the hospital bag and get the car seat in the car just incase! The hospital pretty much gives us everything we’ll need except a blanket for the baby, so I’m going to take my toiletries that I like, some dry shampoo, deodorant, face wipes etc, a nightie, a coming home outfit for me and then a baby grow & a pijama for baby, baby hat, my pillow from home and that’s it I think. What about you? Any suggestions?
We’re so close ladies!!!! 😍
@LimeTurtle @Natasha90

cbear1989 · 30/04/2025 09:24

@Kaybee1989 it's wild isn't it, this kind of fatigue is like nothing else 😅😅 this week i just am so uncomfortable, my belly feels so hard and just massive haha

omg poor you having the power outage to deal with too!! Sounds like you've got the essentials sorted for your hospital bag. I'm pretty much the same, have you got maternity pads and nipple cream and all that fun stuff 😅😅 I've got some body wipes too as ill probs be in overnight for a c section so I can feel a bit fresher and clean. Also for baby a friend recommended some of the formula ready mate bottles that you can get in the shops, I'm planning to try and breast feed but won't beat myself up too much if I can't. Wanted some of those in my hospital bag just incase BF doesn't happen in hospital. Remember to take lots of muslins too, and a nice soft blanket! My husband has asked me to pack him a few bits too🤣🤣 like some snacks, chargers and stuff. It's a mind field!

So close now! xx

How is everyone getting on. Baby boy is 6.1lbs at 35 weeks.

Really struggling to walk…… the pressure is something else.

LimeTurtle · 06/05/2025 19:25

@Natasha90

I am doing well thank you 😊 I'm 36 weeks and the tiredness anns restless legs are another level. I've managed to still try and walk but keep getting the occasional lightning crotch 🤣my stretch marks are also itching like mad no matter how much cream I put on them. I am all prepared hospital bag wise & nursery wise so just patiently waiting for little ones arrival now. Getting the occasional wave of anxiety about the whole birth experience but just trying to focus on the excitement🩷 sorry to hear your pressure is so bad ! Heard a warm bath is supposed to relax all you muscles & help with that 😊

Hi guys! so.... I've had my baby🤣🤣 went into hospital to check him last week as he was a bit quiet and they kept me in for high blood pressure overnight... finally got discharged and came home fed up and starving just about to eat dinner.... and my waters broke! so two hours after being discharged back to hospital, examined and told that I was in labour and already 3cm dilated. So emergency c section it was and now he's here. He's absolutely gorgeous me and hubby are so besotted with him. Glad to say the minute they're out all of your third trimester symptoms and discomfort will vanish so hang in there girls, you got this and it's honestly 100000% worthit once they're here because you will never feel a love like it! 🥰😍👶

LimeTurtle · 06/05/2025 20:16

@cbear1989NO WAY ! Congratulations ✨✨we are due date twins !!! 😍 I was wondering who would be first ! so happy for you and hubby ! Was it an emergency c section as you were electing for a c section ? How are you finding recovery ? 😊xxx

cbear1989 · 06/05/2025 20:52

@LimeTurtle 🤣🤣 aww thank you!! Hahaha yeah i know little man was just way too keen. It's so funny though cos I was still 35 weeks so he's technically a premmie but you wouldn't tell... he weighed 7 pounds 5 and he's so strong!

Yeah i mean we were having one anyway but baby was still breech so I would've had to end up with an emergency section anyway so was obvs meant to be,just earlier than we ever thought 🤣🤣 recovery I've actually been surprised at, feel really well but just not overdoing it. Trust me when your little ones arrive you won't understand where the days has gone haha but it's bliss. Currently sat with him in my arms asleep before I go for a sleep so my hubby can do the first night shift and then we can swap over 🤣🤣

Natasha90 · 06/05/2025 20:58

@cbear1989amazing…… massive congratulations to you. How are you recovering after your c - section ??

LimeTurtle · 06/05/2025 20:58

I'm glad all went swimmingly 😍 and that you're enjoying every second of newborn bliss ! I'm glad you aren't in too much pain either, that fills me with hope 😌 I've heard all the hours and days blur into one 🤣 sounds like you're working together like a well oiled machine too 😍 are you sharing little man's name / decided yet ? No worries if not was just wondering 😊xx

@cbear1989 Congratulations!! 🎊 I’m so happy for you 💓 First baby of the group! That little boy sounds like he was totally ready to make an appearance in this world and a what an entrance! 😂🩵 Enjoy every moment and pass on any tips/ advice/encouragement you can!
@Natasha90 The pressure…. Omg 😳 if I’m not in the perfect position, I feel like I need to poop all the time. Midwife said it’s because baby is engaged and in a good position to come out so that’s a good sign but doesn’t help me in the meantime 😂
@LimeTurtle Youll be absolutely fine, don’t worry about it! You’ve got this! 🥰 Our bodies know what to do and our babies also know what to do, try and relax and enjoy 🤭 the last weeks of pregnancy and how much we all longed for this 💓

cbear1989 · 08/05/2025 05:44

@Natasha90 thank you so much! to be honest I've felt really well, already am off any pain killers because I just don't feel I need them and had the op last Friday. at the mo it can just be a little awkward getting out of bed or when you use those ab muscles to do something but the whole thing has definitely been a massively positive experience for me.

@LimeTurtle aww thank you, we're getting there it's all very overwhelming but little man is doing really well settling himself and sleeping in his cot on his own as he loves a cuddle nap🤣🤣 trouble is so does mummy so trying to be strict with myself and get him used to the cot so that I can also sleep cos I know it'll be so much easier once my husband is back to work. I'll message you his name🥰🥰

@Kaybee1989 aww thank you sweet. it's wild to think my waters broke just a week ago today and now here we are! best advice is ignore outside noise and pressure, whether its feeding or settling them on their own, you know what's best for baby and don't let all that pressure build onto you cos you'll all be fab parents!! if you need to cry then cry. be kind to yourselves, best thing i could say. and get ready cos it's one crazy, overwhelming, anxious scary ride - but the most incredible time of your lives too!!

excited to start hearing about more group babies arriving soon!!🥰👶

LimeTurtle · 17/05/2025 23:58

Good evening everyone, currently wide awake as I've eaten to much before bed and now have reflux 🤣 the bar of chocolate was worth it !!!

Kaybee1989 · 18/05/2025 07:25

@LimeTurtle @Natasha90 @cbear1989 Well it’s been an eventful few days!
My 25/05/25 baby surprised us on 15/05/25 Thursday! I had been feeling a little different for a few days. Restless legs 😒, actually being able to poop everyday 🥳 (it’s the little things, am I right?!), and I’d get waves of nausea like in the first trimester but nowhere near as bad. I assumed that my hormones were changing preparing the body for labour but when Thursday morning came and I woke up with lower back pain and period pain in the front I was a bit suspicious. I assumed that my cervix was starting to change and maybe my
mucus plug would come out over the next couple of days and then maybe labour the following week, HA! 🫣
We went to the supermarket and then stopped for a drink and a croissant and I was getting irregular aches not long, maybe 15-20 seconds but enough to stop me from walking. We decided to go home and I went in the bath. My
midwife said that if you rest and the pain goes away, it’s false labour so I thought I’d try it. I started timing the pains as they got stronger, and more frequent although not longer. I was told at the hospital contractions had to be 1 minute long, 3 minutes apart, for at least an hour. I was doing 20-30seconds long, 2.5 mins apart, for 45 mins. But the pain was getting really intense. I said to my husband, ‘Get your stuff CALMLY, (because I know what he’s like and he’ll get himself in a panic flapping!) and we’re going to go to get checked out at the hospital 30 mins away. We got there and the contractions were every 2 mins for a minute long each and very strong. We were taken for monitoring and left for an hour. I was breathing through them but I was struggling with the pain they were every minute and so strong. Midwife came back in and said ok let’s turn you to the side because your contractions are so strong we can’t get a good read on baby. I turned and had the biggest urge to poop, her eyes nearly popped out of her head and she quickly did a cervical check and I was 4-5cm, she said, ‘right, I’ll get the dr to do another cervical check and then let’s get you into the delivery suite’ the dr came in about 5 mins later and I was already 6-7cm dilated. We walked to the delivery suite two doors down, lay on the bed checked again and I was 10cm! They all looked at me and kept asking if this was my first baby?!! Their calm tranquility went out the window and they said that I was going to need help getting baby out because it was happening so fast they I didn’t have time to wait for baby to drop down as they were worried she was in distress with it all happening so fast and intense. So in the end they used the vacuum and an episiotomy and in four contractions SHE was here! It took from arrival at A&E to delivery 1hr 43 mins. Shock is an understatement.
I had all these plans of gas and air, epidural, yoga ball, massage oil, heat pads, music, my fave slippers for walking about, my new nightie, my motivational quotes to read over… all out the window. We didn’t even have time to get my hospital bag out the car! 😂 All in all, it was one hell of an experience but wow, what a feeling! Having your baby placed onto your chest and looking into their eyes… wow 😍 I can’t wait for you both to feel that!
How are the last few weeks of pregnancy treating you?

Natasha90 · 18/05/2025 07:32

@Kaybee1989WOW that’s an amazing story, especially for your first. I hope you are recovering well mumma 💕.

@LimeTurtleI am ok thank you, just waiting for my c-section date which I should get this week. How are you?

LimeTurtle · 18/05/2025 07:37

That's unbelievable !! Congratulations on your little girl 🩷 I bet you couldn't believe it, what a whirlwind ! I'm glad she's here safe & and you're doing well too !

I am doing well, I'm in quite a lot of pain throughout the day now when she seems to move position. Not going to lie last night they were so strong I thought "is this it" hahaha ! But they've subsided and I've had a good sleep😌

@Natasha90 I am the same as you ! I have my consultant appointment tomorrow, so hoping I get my date as I'm 38 +1 so really it should be planned in for the following week - eeekk😌 nerves are creeping in a little now, but more so excitement. I think waiting for a date makes it worse as I keep thinking about going into labour beforehand haha🤣

We have 2 babies here safe & sound ! 2 to go 😌🩷

@Kaybee1989 wow that's amazing congratulations lovely!!! Sounds like you absolutely smashed it, how are you feeling and how's little one getting on? Are you home yet? Had any hormonal emotional breakdowns yet?😅

@LimeTurtle he's doing really well thanks! My hubby is back at work now so the nights are a bit longer for me but he's such a good boy so I can't complain too much.

Can't wait to hear about everyone else's little ones arriving, good luck and honestly you'll be fine just remember we are made to do this however they arrive and when they are here it's just the most special and overwhelming feelings you'll ever have 🥰👶

LimeTurtle · 19/05/2025 12:54

Hi everyone ! Was just wondering if I could have your opinion 😌

Just come out of my consultant appointment & they've said they've left it too late to book me in for a section so they don't think I'll be able to have an elective one. He said it should've been booked at my last appointment which they cancelled as consultant was poorly.

I have protein in my wee today & higher blood pressure so they're sending that off. Said I'll just have to try naturally and then if it ends up as an emergency c section then that's what happens. Just feeling really deflated as I've had the plan in my head this whole time and it's gone out the window. More annoyed as it's not my fault that they left it until today to reschedule when I've told both midwife and another consultant when I was 30 weeks that I would definitely be opting for C section.

any ideas what I can do ? I read somewhere they aren't supposed to let IVF babies past 40 weeks as our placenta starts to breakdown. Is this true ? Just starting to worry a little now 😊 sorry for the long message haha 🤣 just feel a little stuck.

OP posts:
cbear1989 · 19/05/2025 13:51

@LimeTurtle that's ridiculous, I can imagine how you feel cos I feel like once you decide yourself how you wanna give birth that's it, its alot to suddenly change the plan.

I think it's also a load of rubbish... the NHS website says if you want a c section you should have one, they can't refuse it. Can you escalate with your midwife? I would 100% try, ring whoever you can and tell them what's happened and how anxious you feel, you're entitled to have a section if you need to just remember that! xxx

cbear1989 · 19/05/2025 13:53

@LimeTurtle this is on the NHS site re section requests

"If after discussing all the risks and hearing about all the support on offer you still feel that a vaginal birth is not an acceptable option, you should be offered a planned caesarean. If your doctor is unwilling to perform the operation, they should refer you to a doctor who will."

defo don't stand for this, escalate with your midwife or even your docs surgery chick x

LimeTurtle · 19/05/2025 13:59

I know I was a little gobsmacked until I came out of the appointment and I've thought about it 🤣 I'm going to try and call someone I think, I've got a midwife appointment tomorrow luckily so I'm going to speak to her and hope she can help. I understand most people do it naturally & some don't have that choice so I almost feel silly getting upset about it ! As I wish I could be like that too I just wanted a plan and to know when she was coming hehe. I think because last minute they've changed it I feel worse as I'd gotten all excited thinking I would find out my date today for next week 😅

He made it clear his view was IVF babies are no different so I shouldn't be choosing a c section for that reason. I explained it's because she's a big baby, my sister had quite a traumatic birth with her big baby and I wanted to eliminate risk of being rushed for an emergency one in the end. Which I totally understand, but you ladies will know what we had to go through to even make this a possibility 😊 fingers crossed midwife can help me out tomorrow !

OP posts:
LimeTurtle · 19/05/2025 14:03

He told me he would email the hospital and ask for a date but told me it was highly unlikely and if so it might not be for another 2 weeks. Which I'll be nearly 41 weeks then which doesn't seem right to me ? Just got all my fingers crossed he does actually email and the hospital can fit me in 🤞🏻

OP posts:
cbear1989 · 19/05/2025 14:30

@LimeTurtle omg that's absolutely wrong I'd also get in touch with the hospital and complain about him because he's spouting absolute rubbish!!!

That's not okay, good that you have a midwife tomorrow. Tbf if you need to get upset in your appointment, I genuinely would be upset too because this is your birth plan and your choice, what this consultant has said to you is wrong, all he should be doing is talking through the risks for both.

Honestly I know it's a bit scary but don't be afraid to be forceful with your rights, can your partner go to your midwife appointment with you tomorrow for a bit of support?

Also the date thing must be a load of crap...they basically told me on my app on the 1st (the day before I had him 😅👶) that I'd get a date for some point between a date range of the 21st to the 23rd May which would be confirmed the following week. Also like you say not your fault they're disorganised after you've already expressed your wishes to have a section, you don't have to justify that decision...

Hope you have a nice midwife tomorrow that sorts you out. As you can tell im furious for you😅😤 let us know how you get on x

LimeTurtle · 19/05/2025 14:36

Thank you so much ! No I'm glad you agree with me and it's not me being silly. My husband said he can come with me tomorrow to help me put my foot down as he said I know you'll just brush over it as I'm a people pleaser 🤣 good job he knows me well !

100% I just found him a little mean. He told me the risks and I said I'm still happy to go forward with it. He said " even after all these risks I've told you, I'm surprised you just don't want to try naturally " which isn't necessarily what I wanted to hear when it is classed as a major operation but I think I've done enough research anyway. There's just as many risks in a vaginal delivery as well as far as I'm aware 😊 I'll let you know tomorrow how it goes !!!
