TWW Fresh Embryo Transfer Symptoms

340 replies

LimeTurtle · 17/09/2024 13:43

Hi everyone !

I am currently 5 days past a 5 day fresh embryo transfer. I've had slight cramping and lower back pain since day 1 as well as very vivid dreams.
Could these be symptoms that the embryo has implanted ? Or just a side effect of my progesterone pessaries.

We have male infertility factor and my AMH levels and lining were good when I had the transfer. My period is due a week today so I'm now worrying it's just my period coming early before my official test day which would be odd as I'm very regular!
:(

Just feeling a little lonely in this two week wait as I've never wanted something so much !
Any success stories with similar symptoms would be great ?

Thank you in advance 😊

@LimeTurtle @cbear1989 Sorry I didn’t reply last night. Coincidentally I was in A&e for a similar reason! TMI WARNING… I’ve had a lot of discharge recently like water running down my legs and soaking through my leggings. Baby had been moving just fine so I thought everything was fine until yesterday we had very reduced movement, just the odd soft poke here and there. So we went to the hospital and they were amazing! Checked the heartbeat, did a full ultrasound, and a swab test to make sure I wasn’t leaking amniotic fluid. All good 👍🏻 baby is fine it’s just extra normal discharge as the pregnancy progresses 🫣🤭
Please don’t feel like you’re bothering anyone or that you’re being silly going to check. Definitely go because I’d rather hear that it’s a false alarm than the opposite and I did nothing. Let us know how you get on today 💕

Good morning you two !!

Panic over ☺️

I stayed awake last night and she was giving me a few flutters and this morning we've had some big kicks ! Woohoo ! So feeling a lot happier this morning, I really think she doesn't like it if I change my routine in the day as it's always when I change my routine she's quiet which is odd.

Still going to keep my eye on it over next couple of days but she seems to be back to normal today so far - phew !

Gosh, I bet that was such a worry @Kaybee1989😢 I'm so glad to hear that everything is ok with you though 😍 and happy you went to get checked ! Who knew we could produce so much fluid 🤣🤣🤣

@LimeTurtle Ahh that’s great news! These babies are going to keep us on our toes the rest of our lives 😂
How glamorous is this pregnancy malarkey 🤭
So what’s the next step for everyone? Birth plan? Hospital bag packing? My next scan is at 34 weeks on April 14th. I’m not sure what it’s for but it’ll be nice to see baby again 🥰 I’ve been looking for a nightie/shirt that is super soft and button down for the birth so I can have baby on my chest straight after for skin-to-skin, also so that there’s access to the business area but also long enough to cover my bum whilst I’m waddling around the room 🫣 Has anyone else thought about what they want to wear in labour?

@Kaybee1989im huge when i went to midwife 28 weeks I am just on the line for big.

im 30 weeks Thursday and my back is done 😂😂

when is everyone finishing work?

Kaybee1989 · 25/03/2025 12:31

@Natasha90 Good question about work… it’s been playing on my mind for the past month. I’m lucky that I’m sat all day but that in itself has its downside, my hips hurt 😔 I’m self employed so if I don’t work I don’t earn, I’d like to get to about 2 weeks before due date even if it’s part time work. I’m not the type to sit at home, I’d go out of my mind thinking about how something big is coming out of something small 🫣🤭 What about you? When are you thinking?
@LimeTurtle @cbear1989 How’re you both doing?

LimeTurtle · 25/03/2025 14:12

its such a shame having to think about when to stop work money wise as well - especially if self employed as makes it even harder 😢wish the maternity pay was a little better too ! I’m trying to plan my maternity leave so I can have the longest time off afterwards, so I’ve taken 3 weeks holiday before my due date to get all sorted. Then my maternity leave will officially start when she’s born 😊 I’m doing really well ! Counting down the days and I’m very stretch marked now, but doesn’t sound like I am as big as @Natasha90yet🤣 the nursery is pretty much all done and I’ve made a start on packing my hospital bags too 😍

I go on annual leave from the 2nd May for 3 weeks and then I start mat leave. I’m not going back until next Jan/ Feb.

I work in the office 3 days and home 2 days but the drive is 50-60 mins there and then back again.
I am not allowed to go over 39 weeks because IVF pregnancy???

has anyone looked in to collecting colostrum? Xx

LimeTurtle · 26/03/2025 15:33

Hi @Natasha90 not long now ! Nice you have a decent amount of time off too with your bubba🥹 I’ve asked my work to drop to 3 days a week when I got back after maternity leave, I just want to try and get a little extra time with them as they grow so quick. And I’ve heard of that before, think it’s something to do with IVF dates being so specific with transfers etc however I’ve had no mention of that to me yet so might mention it at my next midwife or consultation appointment. I’ve been reading up on collecting colostrum but I haven’t really thought about it too deeply yet. What’s your opinion on it ?

I am starting to really feel feet or hands kicking me now 🤣 it’s such a surreal feeling. Is anyone suffering with restless legs ? I’ve had it the last few nights when trying to go to bed, also starting to feel agitated 🤣 and I have no idea, it must be the hormones. I think I’m so used to working that now I’m at home all well it feels like a really weird routine change. I’m popping to see a college that retires tomorrow so that’ll be nice to do a bit of socialising 😊

anyone got any weekend plans ?? Still can’t believe how lucky this thread has been 😍 it’s lovely having this support here !

Kaybee1989 · 26/03/2025 17:52

@Natasha90 the 39 week thing I’ve heard too but my midwife or the hospital hasn’t mentioned it at all. I think as long as you’re healthy and it’s a fairly low risk pregnancy, it’s not necessary. I’m not going to collect colostrum, my midwife said that it’s not necessary and that the body is made to do its thing in the right times etc, but I guess to each their own. I did hear that until the placenta detaches the hormone isn’t released to start producing actual milk and pumping to collect colostrum can produce contractions and induce birth. I’m more of a ‘my body will do what it needs to when it needs to’ person so I’ll just let it do its thing.
@LimeTurtle this weekend we are going to get a new curtain pole for the baby room and keep preparing it bit by bit. It’s so exciting isn’t it! 💕
Remind me when everyone’s due dates are… mines 25/5/25!

Natasha90 · 30/03/2025 19:31

can not believe the next Mother’s Day we will have our miracles in our arms.

my boys so loved already 💙

I have actually gained 2.5 stone I do not stop eating.

my due date is 5/06/2025

cbear1989 · 31/03/2025 10:02

Hey guys!!

Sorry I've been quiet, ive been so poorly 😅😅 yet another pregnancy cold that developed into a viral infection so all I can take is paracetamol, still suffering with the backlog of it now over 2 weeks later. This little tinker is stealing all of my immune system from me i think, but he's more than worth it!!

I have an appointment this week with my consultant at the hospital and another scan as well. My "little" bub has been consistently measuring big, I've already been sent for an extra growth scan in between because my bump measurements are generally 2-3 weeks ahead, so I think this week at that appointment I might hopefully know a bit more on what the plan is for when our little man might be arriving. I've already decided I want to push for an elective ceasearian, I know sometimes they get it wrong with measurements but my hubby was almost 10.5 pounds so realistically our baby could genuinely be quite big 😅😅 just don't wanna put myself and him through a traumatic natural birth situation which will most likely just end up as an emergency c section anyway. My midwife has already been talking about early inductions / c section but I think that's because baby is measuring big more than anything. She did say with IVF babies the dates are obvs far more accurate and we are all monitored more closely with having gone through IVF so it may be that they're ready at that 39 week point, I guess it's case by case.

We're getting there with his nursery, I love his room so much!! Just need to have some fitted wardrobes done at the end of April and then i can start getting organised and putting everything away. Washed all his clothes and blankets last week though and they all smell so lovely and fresh. My washing line never looked so cute.

My due date is 31st May, although I suspect I won't be going to full term! Hopefully will know more this week depending how the scan goes!

Also feeling huge all of a sudden now that I've hit the 30s weeks😅😅 don't wanna jinx it though but haven't had any stretch marks so far considering my belly is so huge so am hoping that continues but if I get them it doesn't really matter, it's incredible what our bodies are doing right?! Feeling lots of big movements now too, I'm fascinated just watching my stomach kind of roll and move i love it,we are all so blessed!!🥰🥰

LimeTurtle · 31/03/2025 10:09

@cbear1989
@Natasha90
@Kaybee1989

I can’t believe we are all so close as well ! My due date is also the 31st May ☺️ I’m seeing lots of rolls and wriggles now too it’s so fascinating 🤣 I’m the opposite and my stretch marks seem to be growing by the day 🤣🤣 I’m also having a elective c - section, I have a scan this week to see if my placenta has moved. If it hasn’t then I’ll be booked in for 37 weeks & if it has then it’ll be 39 ☺️ we’ve pretty much done the nursery now I just can’t wait to wash all the clothes now 🥹 holding off for a couple more weeks before I do that !

I haven’t been told what I’m measuring at all ? My midwife seemed surprised I haven’t had any growth scans too so I’m trying to to deep think that, I’ve been messed about with different midwives. I’ve got an appointment tomorrow and I think I’m going to ask about how I’m measuring ? As I have no idea and seems like everyone else knows ! Hoping they might be able to clarify this for me at my scan on Friday too ☺️

@LimeTurtle ah cute we are due date twins! Although it sounds like neither of us will probs actually have our due dates haha

oh my gosh though 37 weeks... that's like 6 weeks away, how wild!!! So flipping exciting.

Defo ask the midwife, i feel your pain as I started off with a lovely lady who I've seen twice but I've also had 2 random midwives too which i find a bit frustrating as you just don't get that consistency with having the same one as they know your history etc, plus they all measure your bump slightly differently... but hey ho.

But yeah with me they measure my bump and plot it each time to monitor growth, then it's always been too big which is why I've been sent off for growth scans. Seems a little odd they haven't shared that with you although maybe it's just a good sign that everything is normal and your growth rate is within range? Do a bit of digging at your next appointment. I had the midwife last week and not seeing them again till gone 34 weeks which just thought seemed ages away! Least i have the consultant in between, just hoping I can finalise ceasearian plans this week and get a better idea of when we might expect him to come 👀💙👶

Kaybee1989 · 31/03/2025 19:39

Oh it’s all so exciting! (And nerve racking)
@LimeTurtle Ive never had my bump measured, and the last proper scan I had was at 20 weeks for morphology and they never mentioned growth. They only took measurements of baby etc. The next scan is in a couple of weeks at 34w to check growth and placement etc. I don’t have the choice to have an elective CS but to be honest it’s not something I’d like.
@cbear1989 i haven’t had any stretch marks either, but I think it’s just lucky genetics on my part. I didn’t really have many after puberty either. Glad to hear you’re on the mend after feeling so poorly!
@Natasha90 Don't worry about the extra weight, it’s usually baby, placenta & liquid retention etc and if there’s a bit more, it’ll come off again in time!
We’re so close ladies! 💕

Natasha90 · 06/04/2025 08:42

Ladies……

I had a growth scan yesterday at 31 + 2 weeks baby boy is 4lb 7 ……. 😳 xxx

LimeTurtle · 06/04/2025 08:58

@Natasha90

oh my gosh… we are the exact same !

I asked my midwife and she said I was on the 50th percentile when she measured bump but that’s fine☺️ ! Then I went for a localisation of my placenta scan & they did a little growth scan too at 31 + 6 and my baby girl is weighing 4lb 7 🤣 he said oh no you definitely have a big happy baby - no wonder she’s squished in there 😆 placenta has all moved out the way as well so I won’t have anymore scans now until her arrival 🩷💗 we must all have big healthy babies !!!! 😍

Natasha90 · 06/04/2025 11:41

@LimeTurtlethey lady yesterday said 86th. I should have my consultant appointment in 2 weeks.

cbear1989 · 06/04/2025 13:13

@LimeTurtle @Natasha90 I think i can even top that, my little chunk was 4lb 14 so almost 5 😅😅 and that was Thursday 👶👀

I've gotta scan again in just under 4 weeks and then review to book in my current section between 38-40 weeks, eek! xx

Kaybee1989 · 06/04/2025 15:14

Oh wow! 🫣🤭🥰
My growth scan is a week tomorrow at 34weeks, I’m a little nervous now! Does anyone know if their baby is head down yet? Mines still head up at 33 weeks… 😕

LimeTurtle · 06/04/2025 15:51

So much for IVF babies being small hey ! We all broke the mould 🤣 no wonder im so out of breath 24/7😀 I have got my consultant appointment on the 23rd to discuss next steps too. They told me at the scan that baby girl is head down, but I've heard stories of them being able to turn the right way up if they are breech until about 36-37 weeks at the last minute. So don’t worry about that too much ☺️

OP posts:
cbear1989 · 06/04/2025 17:01

My little tinker has been breech extended for ages, with his feet right up infront of his face 😅🤦‍♀️ i tried some positions to get him to move but as my head was so low down it gave me such bad heartburn so I won't be doing that again haha ill just leave him to do what he wants to do! xx

Natasha90 · 07/04/2025 08:40

@LimeTurtlei was just about to say about IVF babies meant to be small 😂

@cbear1989exact same as me his feet over his face.

his not head down yet either. I should get my consultation appointment date this week.

countdown is on for finishing work 1st May for me

Kaybee1989 · 25/04/2025 11:56

Hello everyone! Just checking in to see how we’re all coping? 🫣
Ive had my 34 week scan and baby is head down and weighs 2.4kg and today at the midwife (35+6) she said that baby is engaged 😳
My hip has opened too much and causes me immense pain when walking so it’s a more relaxed life for me until birth!
How is everyone?
@LimeTurtle @cbear1989 @Natasha90

LimeTurtle · 25/04/2025 12:03

Hi !!

Doing really well thank you, I am at the stage of a couple of hours sleep due to backache and needing to wee 🤣

I was supposed to have my consultant appointment yesterday but it got cancelled :( so I rang my midwife to book an appointment as she cancelled by 34th week one due to my consultant appointment but she's on holiday 😢 so haven't seen anyone since beginning of April, luckily baby is very active and I even experienced feeling her first hiccups last night !

I've had a terrible headache since last night, so hoping that'll start to ease soon I've just had to take some tablets.

Seems like you have a lovely healthy baby🥹 and you're just in the waiting game ready to meet them soon ! Sorry to hear about your hip pain😢 do you think you'll be earlier than due date ?

OP posts:
Natasha90 · 25/04/2025 21:29

@LimeTurtlesorry to hear about the cancelled : amended appointments. Did the headache clear?

@Kaybee1989are you all finished up for work now?

I finish work next week, in 34 weeks and his still not head down 😬😬
