@LimeTurtle 🤣🤣 welcome to the club!!
Sounds like she's doing amazing, and you too!!
Tbh I don't think they're actually able to differentiate between night and day at this stage when theyre so young, but it defo can still help in winding down for the night and keeping everything as quiet as poss and without any lights blaring to get them used to it, which im sure you're probs doing already. Our baby monitor has a nightlight and sound options for white noise etc although we use the waves setting as it's less annoying 😅😅
What are you using for sleeping? I know our little one has never liked being swaddled like most newborns, he's far too wriggly and likes to be a bit freer🤣🤣 so we use a sleeping bag which he loves as his arms are out and he can still kick his legs, we like it too cos we know he's safe and cosy without being restricted. He's pretty good at going down for daytime naps but we use his moses basket downstairs for daytime naps and always have a bit of background noise compared to night sleeps where the room is dark, quiet and we use the sleeping bag, plus he sleeps for the night in his proper cot in his nursery, whether that helps or not who knows!
also if she's anything like ours, he goes down on his own fine most of the time but loves to nap on you. I usually keep him upright for 20-30 mins after a feed and by then he's usually fell asleep on my chest which helps me to pop him down and just soothe him to sleep in his cot (head stroking and feeling our face right next to his always helps).
Last thing I'd say is generally if he's fussy to go down or doesn't wanna settle there's usually something bothering him, so just try eliminating everything. Ours is struggling with wind a little and has spit up a few times today so hes just stirred in the past hour so I got him up and the minute I lifted him he let out a huge burp so he obvs had some wind bless him. l reckon he's got a bit of reflux so he's a lot easier to settle when he's not so windy!
Hope that helps a little, good luck, you got this!!!
