Hi 👋
I'm due to commence IVF next month (injections to start 2nd October).
Thought I'd start a group for anyone going through the same thing at the same time to support each other ☺️

Hey everyone! Mind if I join? Starting my injections today.

Last cycle I had Gonal F and Menopur - pretty terrible results, no euploid embryos from 8 fertilised.

This cycle I am having Provera and Menopur.

Worried as both have Menopur that I'll have the same terrible results again...
I'm late 20s, unexplained infertility.

Welcome. It took 11 fertilised for me to find a euploid. I'm just on gonal, the same as last time. I hope you get a better result this time too.

naomimn · 05/10/2024 20:02

I'm on 450 Menopur and today, due to a miscommunication with my husband who injects me, we injected around 500. How much of an issue would it be?
I'm day 10 of stims

Hi

I was just wondering if anyone who has been on the short protocol can advise what to expect in terms of energy / productivity levels for the 10- 14 dayd of meds/jabs?

I'm going off the assumption I get to start in a couple of weeks, so will have to start planning, I manage my own work diary but usually have to do one or two field days per week, these can be anywhere in uk so can sometimes be out of house from 7am till 9pm and take a lot of mental energy as I have to really be on the ball. I could probably get away with avoiding any visits and just working completely from home for a couple of weeks, but don't know if I'm being a bit dramatic doing that or if I should just carry on as normal ?

I was very productive on stims, the high estrogen was fantastic for my ADHD. The crash after however, that was awful.

AllTheSupplements · 05/10/2024 20:17

@naomimn are you on Fyremadel or similar yet? How large are the follicles and are there any lead ones? I'd call the clinic first thing just incase, it might be totally fine but best to check.

naomimn · 05/10/2024 20:28

@AllTheSupplements I'm doing a frozen transfer and am on provera 10mg.
The nursing team is super unhelpful, have given me wrong advice on a number of occasions and my doc is impossible to get hold of but will try both (called the nurse emergency line already and no answer)

naomimn · 05/10/2024 20:29

@AllTheSupplements and I'm not really sure how large the follicles are?? I wasn't given a report, just told yesterday to wait for another scan on Monday and told we will likely trigger on Monday

Hi all! Hope you don’t mind me joining. I am 43 and we had our first round of IVF in August. 4 embryos went for PGT testing and we got one high quality embryo. Started another retrieval round to try to “bank” some more embryos before going to transfer stage. currently on fematab. Injections to start on Thursday of this week. Feeling very very nervous.

Without being a doctor or nurse then I don’t know. However, I’d imagine you should just carry on as normal so as not to break the cycle and call your clinic when they open tomorrow. I hope it’s ok for you. I imagine so as that’s a very small excess.

Purpleflowers17 · 06/10/2024 11:43

Never been so glad to see AF today!

Means my stims start tomorrow evening feeling anxious. I’m doing 150iu of Meriofert any experiences? For those already had an EC on what day did it fall? How many days of Stims did you have?

Lozzy000 · 06/10/2024 20:24

@Purpleflowers17 great news! I've always stimmed for about 12 days - but I'm a low responder. Egg collections have normally been around day 14/15 for me I think.... good luck!

I'm on day 4 of gonal f and switch to pergoveris tomorrow. First time using pergoveris - anyone else have it before? Works in exactly the same way as gonal f so will be nice and easy to administer.

@naomimn I'm sure it'll be absolutely fine but best to contact your clinic tomorrow to let them know, just in case they ask you to reduce the dose tomorrow evening x

BelleCrescent · 07/10/2024 07:23

@Lozzy000 Yes, I’m using Pergoveris during this cycle. It’s great, the pen is very easy to use and I’ve had no side effects so far. I’m doing 250 iu per day, how about you?

@Purpleflowers17 It’s 11 days of stims for me, egg collection is scheduled for day 13.

Purpleflowers17 · 07/10/2024 07:31

Thanks @BelleCrescent @Lozzy000 i have 12 days of stims but think all depends how you progress on them.

BelleCrescent · 07/10/2024 08:01

Hi @Willowwalks ! We’re doing a duo stim too, this is our 1st cycle and PGT-A testing will commence after the 2nd one on embryos from both cycles. I think having 1 high quality embryo is already a good outcome, I hear stories where they ended up with none 😣Hope your 2nd cycle will be successful too!

Thanks so much @BelleCrescent - I have everything crossed for you too. Yes when we heard that only one embryo passed the testing we were gutted but when the consultant went through the stats for a woman my age we felt very grateful - but also scared we will struggle to get another. Anyway, PMA I guess!

BelleCrescent · 07/10/2024 11:23

@Willowwalks I hope you get at least one more, fingers crossed! If not then at least it's reassuring to know that the one you have is high quality, and that's better than transferring lots of untested embryos. How long did it take to get the PGT-A results? I'm so nervous about waiting for the results, I won't know at least until the end of November! Are you hoping to transfer before Christmas?

Willowwalks · 07/10/2024 11:34

@BelleCrescent it took about 3 weeks to get the results but I am in Ireland so maybe it is quicker in the UK (if that’s where you’re based). I would absolutely love to do a transfer before Christmas but it is such a slow process in general that I feel it could be the new year. The IVF journey is so protracted and such an emotional rollercoaster..I really feel for us all!!

Lozzy000 · 07/10/2024 11:52

@Purpleflowers17 that sounds about normal to me 😊 my new clinic have given me meds for 10 days but I expect I will stim for longer.

@BelleCrescent great! I've never felt any symptoms from the other stims I've taken - so hoping this will be the same. I was on 225IU gonal f for 4 days and now moving to 200IU pergoveris from today and for the next 6 days. I have a tracking scan tomorrow so they may change the dose and increase it. I've always been on max 450IU for my previous cycles, so interested to see if things are progressing on a lower dose alongside steroids (which are supposed to help the ovaries respond better) x

BelleCrescent · 07/10/2024 15:21

@Willowwalks I live in England but they said it'd take 2-3 weeks for us too! Seems like a long time, I think I'll go mad!! We're thinking about doing the transfer in January (if there's anything to transfer), just so that we don't have to worry about waiting for the result of a pregnancy test over the Christmas period. I feel like I need a bit of time off at the end of the year, it's been so stressful. I agree with you, it's a really hard thing to go through for all of us, nice to have a forum like this because otherwise there's not many people who understand.

Scorbunny2 · 07/10/2024 15:23

@BelleCrescent @Lozzy000 I'm starting injections on the 15th of October

Willowwalks · 07/10/2024 16:55

@BelleCrescent the wait is hard. At least when you’re injecting etc you feel like you’re actively doing something to make it all come together. But I am sending all the positive vibes your direction and to everyone else on the thread.

anyone else around my age (43) who is also at the retrieval stage?

Ru19 · 07/10/2024 17:37

@Hopingforno2in2024 how did your scan go last week?

Lozzy000 · 07/10/2024 19:13

Good luck @Scorbunny2 - not too long to wait! X

Hopingforno2in2024 · 07/10/2024 21:28

It went well thanks @Ru19, lining was 15mm :) transfer tomorrow!

How are you doing?

Hopingforno2in2024 · 08/10/2024 07:10

Eek transfer at 13:00 today!
