Hi 👋
I'm due to commence IVF next month (injections to start 2nd October).
Thought I'd start a group for anyone going through the same thing at the same time to support each other ☺️

@spamOFtheDAY I'm doing the same, couldn't bear to wait and makes me feel better when things are in motion. Starting a new cycle in Prague at the start of December. Are you doing a transfer or a new cycle?

Oh that'll be nice to go to Prague at Christmas too! Is this a new clinic?
I have to start a new cycle as didn't get any to freeze which is frustrating, what about you?

So @Ru19 and @spamOFtheDAY are restarting in December and @Purpleflowers17 is in January? I am sorry that you are all having to do another cycle. So much goes into just one cycle and I feel that the effort one needs to go to makes a BFN at the end of a ivf cycle seem far worse than a BFN when you’ve just been trying naturally. My condolences.

I hope you can all at least enjoy November. Perhaps some sushi or cocktails are in order since you can’t do that once you restart. Obviously you’d rather have a BFP than those things of course. I hope you all have success in the future.

Ru19 · 07/11/2024 16:53

@Feliciacat sushi & cocktails sounds like a great plan for November! how are you getting on during your TWW? what day are you due to test? I'll have my fingers crossed for you.

@spamOFtheDAY yes this will be a new clinic. Our last transfer was our 2nd/final embryo from our first round and we just couldn't really justify the cost of doing it again here (I don't qualify for NHS funding where we live sadly).

Are you doing NHS or private?

Feliciacat · 08/11/2024 09:11

Thanks for FRER recommendation! I got them and it seems positive. I will retest on Monday but tbh I had to test now as I thought I was going insane with how I was feeling and acting. I’m so over sensitive and I feel really tense in my head and nauseous. I’m glad it’s pregnancy and not insanity!

ee @Feliciacat that line looks great. Everything you wrote is exactly how I felt. Tentative congrats.

I hope everyone is doing well x

Ru19 · 08/11/2024 10:12

@Feliciacat congrats lovely!

kerrym87 · 08/11/2024 12:59

Tentative congrats @Feliciacat .
I'm so glad people do get the outcome they want as I know how hard t is getting there.
We have a mosaic in freezer and finally got genetic counselling appt after 2 months waiting. Don't think it will be usable. Then like you guys we will be moving forward jan but I need a hysterscopy first to widen the adhesion in my cervix from the multiple transfers 😪🙄
It doesn't get easier we just learn how to carry on

Feliciacat · 08/11/2024 13:08

Thank you @kerrym87.

I’m sorry you had to wait so long for genetic counselling and that your mosaic won’t be usable. I suppose maybe if the mosaic was transferred, it might add to your adhesion and then subsequent goes would not be as likely to succeed. I hope the procedure to widen your cervical adhesion goes as well as possible.

Of course you’d rather be pregnant but hopefully you can plan some fancy things to do over Christmas and enjoy those while you can.

BelleCrescent · 08/11/2024 13:13

@kerrym87 I've just had a call from my clinic and turns out one of our embryos is high mosaic (the other one is 'no result'). We'll have genetic counselling at the end of the month. Can I ask why they told you that the embryo wouldn't be usable? It must have been devastating to hear the news.

kerrym87 · 08/11/2024 13:52

@BelleCrescent well, it was actually DURING one of our euploid transfers the embryologist said so you've got one more in the freezer...I replied 1+1 as that's how they categorise euplois and mosaic. He said well that one is quite high mosaic so you probably won't be using that one. While I had my legs in the air and my foof airing out......I was NOT happy. My consultant said it depends on the level of mosaic as some can correct and modern thinking is more positive around mosaics.
Our plan was if we weren't successful this time we were going to Germany for Xmas markets so we did that for 2 weeks time, we plan to drink and eat our way round the markets 🤣

BelleCrescent · 08/11/2024 21:11

@kerrym87 Gosh, that's such a terrible way of letting you know!! Do you know the level of mosaic? I've read that cells can correct themselves but it's a bit of a gamble. I thought PGT-A would give us a more straightforward answer but now I'm even more confused 😅
Christmas markets in Germany are amazing, they have the best selection of mulled wines! We're taking December off before doing a transfer (well, depending on test results) in January.

kerrym87 · 09/11/2024 06:16

@BelleCrescent no we don't know, that's the appointment next week when we find out the actual percentage and what it means to decide what we do. We know it's a micro deletion on chromosome 7 which can result in a syndrome but that's it at the moment

ClaireBear101 · 13/11/2024 20:00

Hey @wateringcanface and @Feliciacat what's the updates huns?

Also how's everyone else going?

I'm 4DPT

Won't test till next week. Day 9 maybe

Feliciacat · 14/11/2024 06:14

Hi @ClaireBear101! I got a BFP on the official test day. I’ve had light bleeding from 9dp5dt but this seems to have stopped. I’m testing every day as I’m paranoid that the lines will get lighter.

One very annoying thing is that lots of home tests are ‘too good’. I want to check myself on an insensitive test that only detects 25mIU/mg of hCG. I bought six tests this week but it turns out they detect 10mIU/mg. Basically, over 25mIU/mg is definitely pregnant but between 6mIU/mg and 25mIU/mg is questionable. So the very sensitive tests could be detecting CPs. So I’m in disbelief at my positives and keep waiting for something to go wrong!

Congratulations on getting to 4dp5dt. I totally agree with waiting to 9dp5dt at least. I’d also probably say to try and deliberately get insensitive tests so you’re sure. I hope you have success with this go. How are you feeling?

ClaireBear101 · 14/11/2024 07:27

@Feliciacat that's great news. Might be time to start believing it! So happy for you!!
Great advice thanks!
Been thinking I might actually try waiting longer.
This time has been a lot different to my other tries.
I've been having awful cramps but they don't last too long. Only in last day or 2 and more like twinges. I'm super tired and sore boob's.
Been seeing in forums that can be a good sign but no hopes up yet. Been here before and I know the heartache when I'm too positive.
This time my transfer was day 3 because my embryos were excellent quality. Last time was stage 5 and they were not a good grade.
Funny I was crying after scan as nurse said I should cancel as only 3 follicles but doc and I said no and I got same amount of eggs as last time with 12 follicles.
Quality over quantity 👌

Feliciacat · 14/11/2024 07:58

That all sounds quite positive. As you say, it’s better to not be too positive because it can be heartbreaking if things don’t work out. Are you testing at home or on the clinic on your OTD? My clinic just required me to test at home and then tell them.

I have a 7 week scan on 2/12/24. I think I’ll start believing it after that!

wateringcanface · 14/11/2024 08:27

@ClaireBear101 hey, all good here. Still positive with intermittent symptoms. Just anxiously waiting for scan.

Things sound really positive for you, I got twinges on day 3 which I believe was implantation. Its awesome your embryos are excellent, that really increases your odds.

Keep us updated x

ClaireBear101 · 14/11/2024 09:18

@Feliciacat 7 week scan is super positive!!
Yes I am the same they gave me a test and said just test day 14 (if I can wait that long haha)

@wateringcanface that's fab news looks like it's worked for both of you! Great to hear.
Yes I think it's positive too as 4th try between iui and ivf and this time feels totally different. Never had these twinges before.

Fingers and toes crossed all stays well for you both!

Hi everyone. I had my follow up appointment with the doctor yesterday and he basically said it’s the end of the road for us as IVF hasn’t worked for me. It was a bit disappointing as I wasn’t expecting it to be that fixed after one go. But on the other hand maybe it’s good that he’s being straight with us and saying our chances are really not very good. We’re considering donor eggs now. I’m doing a lot of reading and reflecting to see how I feel about it all.

Sending love, strength and positivity to all of you lovely ladies.

I’m so sorry to hear that you’ve had news you weren’t expecting. As you say, at least he’s being straight with you. I’ve heard of people selling their house for ivf! I suppose he doesn’t want you to have endless cycles when it’s unlikely to work. IVF is also emotionally taxing so going through loads of cycles that wouldn’t even work would be awful.

It’s a big shock as you didn’t think you’d be on the donor egg path. Definitely do lots of reading and processing. Perhaps you can take a year off ivf altogether? There’s not much time pressure if you’re using donor eggs (so that’s one of the good things about donor eggs). Treat yourself like a queen and listen to your heart regarding what you want to do.

wateringcanface · 15/11/2024 12:48

@LiveLaughL0ve I'm sorry to hear this, you sound as if you are being very rational about this, as hard as it is to hear, you are right that the consultant was best to be truthful. I wish you the best of luck with whatever next steps you choose. This proccess can be so unfair x

Feliciacat · 21/11/2024 09:18

They saw the gestational sac and the yolk yesterday. No embryo but they said it was too early at 5w4d to see. However, I started bleeding an hour after that scan.

Had to eventually go to A&E for blood loss last night. The blood loss slowed after 7 hours and I’m back home now. My blood count is fine. There’s nothing they can do gynaecology wise at this point. They’re going to move my viability scan on 4th Dec to 27th Nov. But it will be an appointment to check I’ve cleared the tissue rather than to check how the embryo is growing. I’ve had a miscarriage unfortunately and just need to wait for the bleeding to stop.

I’m leaving this thread for obvious reasons but I wish you all success and happiness.
