Hi 👋
I'm due to commence IVF next month (injections to start 2nd October).
Thought I'd start a group for anyone going through the same thing at the same time to support each other ☺️

@Purpleflowers17 @ButterscotchBabe I'm also curious about blood tests... I had my AMH levels and thyroid tested (as I have an underactive thyroid), but my clinic is not interested in progesterone levels which is weird. I feel like they could do more investigations!

BelleCrescent · 17/09/2024 10:28

@AnonS We're the same age so I feel your pain! 😔

Vividdreamer88 · 17/09/2024 11:39

👋 starting soon just waiting for my next cycle to start then we are beginning injections. It’s my first round and I have zero idea what to expect! After four years of trying and false starts I am hopeful for the next stage 🤞🤞🤞🤞

Purpleflowers17 · 17/09/2024 14:05

One set blood tests is for the usual Hep/HIV they do they close to start of cycle as they have to do every 3months apparently. I suffer from low iron so they are checking that before we get going on the cycle.

I had my progesterone checked by GP twice and it’s fine apparently.
@Vividdreamer88 welcome, similar here not sure what to expect at all on the journey but have my fingers crossed for you 🤞🏻

spamOFtheDAY · 17/09/2024 14:13

Hi everyone - it's good to see there are people at a similar stage to me.
I finally started getting my treatment plan through.

I start injections 2nd October and transfer pencilled in for 19th.

TBH, I'm feeling a bit down about it all now 😔

I just feel like the chances are low (I'm 39yrs)
And time just seems to be going SO slowly.

I literally have a tick chart to count down the days until end of October when I'll know if it's worked or not.

How's everyone feeling about it all?

Hi @spamOFtheDAY I start just a few days before you. I had my bloods back today and a few cells were marked as abnormal.

I'm feeling quite nervous tbh. There are so many hurdles to overcome its mentally exhausting.

In a way I want time to speed up but then I also don't want it to because at the moment I still have the hope if that makes sense x

@Purpleflowers17 thank you hoping this thread is good luck for us all ❤️

AnonS · 17/09/2024 19:23

@BelleCrescent All I get told is my eggs are age 39 so it doesn't matter. Well it does after 4 failed FET, when the remaining 3 are used, I'll be 42 for another egg collection :(

Hopingforno2in2024 · 17/09/2024 19:37

Hi all :)

Please can I join? Am not doing an egg collection cycle but am doing a FET of my only frozen embryo.

I start oestrogen when my period arrives later this week and transfer is pencilled in for week commencing 30th September.

SAbs86 · 17/09/2024 20:21

@AnonS a family friend had her first child via IVF in her early forties and then conceived her second naturally a few years later. It can happen. I hope that helps. Sometimes hearing these stories can give us all hope xx

wateringcanface · 17/09/2024 21:45

Hey 👋

Im due to start some point Oct, dependent on my cycle as I'm doing short protocol, but likely to be starting meds around the 10th.

It's my first cycle. Feeling hopeful 🤞

Ru19 · 18/09/2024 16:01

@Hopingforno2in2024 my timings for FET are pretty much the same as yours! AF should come by the weekend (I hope) Mine will also be my only frozen embryo too. Is this your first transfer?

SunnyTiger · 18/09/2024 22:11

Hi,
I due to stop my norethisterone tomorrow so I looking at a transfer date in October.

This would be my 2nd time (NHS funded) I am more hopeful as last time while I was taking norethisterone I had an allergic itchy problem. It got worst as I started my injection but the doctor just said my body arent use to the drug and its take time. This time round no itchy for now.
My health is also more monitor since now I got high blood pressure and the reading are more steady since I reduce my working days and spaces it out with a day off every 3/4 days. And meds does help.

Iet journey together.

Hopingforno2in2024 · 19/09/2024 08:13

Ooh exciting @Ru19! I have had a fresh transfer before but this is my first frozen. What medication will you be on? I am spotting now so not long to go.

ButterscotchBabe · 19/09/2024 10:49

@BelleCrescent that's a shame your clinic won't test progesterone levels, I'd recommend testing them privately if you can? My previous clinic wouldn't test them either ☹️. I've now gone to the other extreme and my new clinic excessively test everything 😂.

Welcome to everyone new that's joined!

Is anyone taking supplements? Since June I've been taking:

DHEA, Ubiquinol, vitamin E, vitamin D, folic acid, omega 3 and more recently added vitamin C.

These were recommended by my clinic and It Starts With the Egg book, only time will tell if they have done anything to improve egg quality 🤞🏼🙏🏼

Feliciacat · 20/09/2024 16:18

I’d like to join please. I should start stims on 14th October so egg collection would be around 28th October. I was on a conception thread on this forum but two years later, everyone on the thread has not just conceived but had a baby. I’d like to be part of a thread where I’m in the same situation as everyone else. Though I’m sorry you’re here of course and I wish everyone luck for October.

Hi,
I'm having my egg transfer on the 3rd October (provided all goes to plan)!!

PsychologyGeek · 21/09/2024 09:30

Hi all,

I’m going to join as will be nice to have some people going through it at the same time to chat with. This will be my third cycle - last sadly ended in a chemical pregnancy with our only embryo. First round had no blastocysts at all 🙁

Should be starting (on short protocol) around the 10/11th. Like @SAbs86 said, counting down the days but also don’t want it to come too quickly, as still in that slightly hopeful period.

I know they say it’s all about the three months leading up, but any tips for anything I can do in the last few weeks to help my chances?! Trying to eat healthy, not stress too much (lol) and keep on taking my supplements…

Sending lots of positive vibes to you all. xx

BelleCrescent · 21/09/2024 12:48

@ButterscotchBabe Yes, I think testing progesterone levels privately is a good idea! I just feel like it’s so important, they should offer it as part of our package..,
I’ve been taking Pregnacare Conception Max for the last few months, hoping that’s sufficient!

BelleCrescent · 21/09/2024 12:57

Welcome, @PsychologyGeek ! I guess it’s a bit late to improve egg quality for our October cycle. I talked to a nutritionist at my fertility clinic and she sort of said the same. She said I shouldn’t make any big changes to my diet now as that could be stressful for the body. Eating relatively healthy, drinking lots of water, not much sugar (this includes limiting fruits) and maybe having less gluten is what she recommended. I think what you’re currently doing should be enough. During my last cycle I was doing lots of fertility yoga and meditation on Youtube (Kendra Tolbert is the name of the teacher I think), and that helped me keep up my spirit and stay calm.

Vividdreamer88 · 21/09/2024 20:20

My new cycle has started so celebrating it (for once) by having hopefully the last glass of wine for a long time :)

it’s so nice to be here with people who get it @Feliciacat totally get what you are saying my friends who started TTC at the same time as me are onto their second it’s so hard. But hopeful we get good news soon.

AllTheSupplements · 22/09/2024 04:28

I'm starting my next IVF cycle on the 9th and booked in for egg collection from the 23rd. I respond well to Gonal but my embryos stop developing by day 3. I'm doing PGT again so it's a freeze all. This is one of the hardest bits, as I wish I could go straight into transfer.

I've got blood tests in a few days and am traveling by train for all my treatment, which I'm not looking forward to as it's always so busy and I suffer from anxiety and travel sickness.

I had to stay in hospital with OHSS last time so I'm very nervous about going through it again. I felt quite traumatized and it's taken me a while to recover. I've been trying to take inositol to help improve things, I need fewer follicles and better quality eggs.

Hopingforno2in2024 · 22/09/2024 15:27

My period came yesterday so I started progynova today :)
