I'm due to commence IVF next month (injections to start 2nd October).
Thought I'd start a group for anyone going through the same thing at the same time to support each other ☺️

Welcome everyone, trying to keep myself occupied while slowly making my way to starting stims couple weeks to go!

I’m currently entering TWW which given we have been trying for 3 years and nothing has happened some reason here I am still thinking there will be a miracle! least fairly relaxed with IVF about to start so might be my easiest TWW yet!

@AllTheSupplements I’m apparently high on the risk of OHSS so might end up having a freeze all. Sorry to hear you had a really rough time last time fingers crossed this time is alot smoother for you 🤞🏻

@Vividdreamer88 woohoo! I think my next AF will be the only time I celebrate it as well.

@Hopingforno2in2024 still no sign of mine yet! I'm coming off the back of a failed fresh transfer (with a bleed in between), so I think the hormones have messed with my cycle... I'll be on elleste solo tablets when it does eventually come though. Hope all's going ok for you so far :)

Hi all hope it’s okay if I join this thread. I’m on norethisterone until 5th October then start gonalf on the 11th. It’s looking like egg retrieval on 23rd or there abouts. First timer so quite nervous about the retrieval

Hope it comes soon @Ru19! I am doing ok thanks. I have major anxiety over taking the meds and had to abandon two previous attempts at a FET because of it. This time they have significantly reduced the medication and I am doing much better. Taking it one day at a time :)

First two injections done 🙌 it stings a bit does anyone have any tips for helping with nerves or the pain?

i already feel super bloated but i hope it just means it’s working.

@Vividdreamer88 for nerves, they'll settle after a few days and you'll become a pro! For pain, get an ice cube and hold it against your tummy for 10 seconds then immediately inject the area. It also helps reduce swelling and bleeding 🙂

@spamOFtheDAY are you on Norethisterone so the clinic can time your period? If so, I'd get some decent pain meds if you don't already have any. I found it increased period pain ☹️

It was just microgynon, for timing yeah. But thanks, I'll do that just in case 🙏

I have about 10 days now until start taking meds. Has everyone been given progesterone in both pessaries and injection form for after egg collection and TWW? I only got pessaries but everyone I know that has been through IVF had both.
Im already worried about my progesterone in normal cycles due to spotting that normally happens

@spamOFtheDAY I’m really worried about the injections as well. We have the tutorial with the nurse Monday. My DH doesn’t like the thought of doing it so I think going to have to do myself. Which from a logistics point of view is probably better.

@Vividdreamer88 great to hear you started with your injections are you doing them yourself?

I just had pessaries from my fresh transfer @Purpleflowers17 and I started bleeding before test day. This time round I have been prescribed lubion alongside the pessaries.

@Hopingforno2in2024 I'm sorry to hear about your cancelled cycles - that must have been really hard. Glad you're finding it easier this time around.
My cycle finally started last night so glad things are finally moving forwards! What day do you have your first scan?

@Hopingforno2in2024 thanks for coming back to me. do you think I should ask for Lubion. I am not sure why they haven’t suggested it? Is it because I’m doing fresh cycle maybe?

very confusing, I want to have best possible chances of it sticking!

@Purpleflowers17 I’m in the same boat as you, just the pessaries. I’d rather they give me the injections too if it ups the chances! Would like to know the reasons for only having the pessaries really

@Hopingforno2in2024 I'm on the 4th, so couple of days behind you. Is yours on day 8?
@Purpleflowers17 my clinic only prescribed me pessaries for my first transfer. This time around I've asked them to test my progesterone a few days before transfer to make sure my levels are ok and they've said they'll add lubion if needed. I would just push for a test to make sure!

I'm starting my 4th IVF cycle next week hopefully.

@Purpleflowers17 I've always had pessaries and lubion for my transfers. Your clinic should test your progesterone on transfer date - if it's low, they may suggest adding lubion at that point. Lots of people only have pessaries.

@ButterscotchBabe agree with your comment about painkillers for the first period after norethisterone. Not nice 🙁

@Lozzy000 welcome! Sorry to hear it's your 4th time, it's my 4th time too ☹️. Are you sticking with the same clinic? My previous 3 rounds were at the same place but we've moved to a new clinic this time

Had my scan today and my womb is all nice and thick and ready for transfer next Friday! :)

Super tired from all the oestrogen I'm taking. But pleased and nervous for next week !! How are you all? There's a lot to keep up with on this thread!
