Hi 👋
I'm due to commence IVF next month (injections to start 2nd October).
Thought I'd start a group for anyone going through the same thing at the same time to support each other ☺️

@Hopingforno2in2024 sorry to hear it hasn’t worked out this time. There is no feeling like it, I’m glad you have been able to put it into perspective and life can still be enjoyable despite this outcome. What are your next steps?

@BelleCrescent im doing the same as you…. Had my egg collection on Saturday, just waiting for my period to arrive (which they said would take around 10 days) and then starting with stimulation again. Ugh, this is the third cycle in a row, can’t wait to get it over with!

@Feliciacat i had the exact same trigger as you..interesting! Maybe we are with the same clinic?! I’m at the Evewell xx

Feliciacat · 21/10/2024 09:07

@Obrm it would be too outing to say which clinic I’m at as the title contains the city name. But it’s not Evewell. Sounds like you’re doing a massive load of stimming. I hope you get some good results!

I had my scan today and there are 12 follicles but six of them are only 1mm. The nurse said they might grow by Friday. The others are over 10mm (on the right and four on the left). So does that mean I’ll get a maximum of six mature eggs?

They say that they’ll probably do egg collection on Friday. I’d like that but my boss will be pissed as she hoped it’d be on a weekend.

There's quite a lot of growing time between now and Friday.

The nurse told me that they'll also drain my smaller follicles as they sometimes get lucky, but its the bigger ones they are relying on.

I've seen plenty of threads with people disappointed by low numbers, but to their suprise many of them have been good quality.

My numbers won't likely be high either as they said they'll most likely only use one of my ovaries for ec

@Hopingforno2in2024 I'm so sorry to hear ❤️ I really hope you're doing ok and had a nice day out yesterday. Sending you lots of love and hugs x

TheRealViewer · 21/10/2024 10:40

Hi everyone, hope it’s okay to jump on this thread. I’ve had my latest scan this morning and all is looking good with egg retrieval on Wednesday. The only thing they mentioned is that I could potentially have a polyp and they wouldn’t be able to transfer until it’s removed. Has anyone else had this before and does it take long?

Feliciacat · 21/10/2024 10:50

@TheRealViewer of course this is a different situation but I had a 3mm polyp in May. This is no longer there as my body naturally got rid of it through menstruating. So maybe they’ll freeze your embryos and let you have a couple of periods to see how that goes? It depends how big it is; do you know?

Vividdreamer88 · 21/10/2024 11:16

I’m officially out - the spotting turned into a full on break through period and testing negative. Clinic are happy for me to stop medication. Good luck to everyone rooting for you all xxx

Feliciacat · 21/10/2024 11:18

@Vividdreamer88 I’m sorry to hear that. Look after yourself today. Can you take the day off work today or tomorrow?

Purpleflowers17 · 21/10/2024 11:25

Had a call from the clinic this morning 10 eggs graded as good will give them their alphabet grading tomorrow.

Booked in for 10am tomorrow for transfer so much anxiety! annoyingly my DH cant get the time off work so he is going to miss out.

Hummingbird36 · 21/10/2024 11:33

Hi everyone,

@Vividdreamer88 so sorry to hear that, it's such a cruel end to a cycle, hope you are okay as you can be.

We did a second test today as it's our actually OTD, using a test the clinic provided which looks kind of like a lateral flow test. It confirmed yesterday's clear blue positive, but wasn't all that dark (not sure how dark it should be for 14 days post 3 day embryo transfer).

Our biggest concern at the minute is my wife has been having very light bleeding since Friday pm. Every time she thinks it's dried up, she uses a pessary and it comes back. We've called the clinic this morning to confirm a positive test and query the bleeding. They've suggested using fingers instead of the applicator with the pessary, as it could be an internal tear that the applicator is aggravating. These 'early days' post BFP are bloody stressful, can't wait to get to the point of a scan and seeing a heartbeat and it's in the right place snuggled up in her womb lining. I thought the TWW was bad, but this next wait to the scan feels even worse. Really just want this bleeding to stop, has anyone else had any? In terms of flow, it's not enough to drip or anything like that, it's more so when she wipes, but like I say, after using a pessary it's worse. X

Ru19 · 21/10/2024 12:04

@Vividdreamer88 I'm so sorry to hear. I hope you're alright xxx

ClaireBear101 · 21/10/2024 12:48

@Feliciacat in regards to time off work, with IVF it's all very precise with dates and times so can't help the day for procedures and work should understand.
I had 10 follicles last time and 5 eggs.

@Vividdreamer88 I'm so sorry to hear that, I know how hard it is. Be kind to yourself. X

I took today off. Migraine is soo bad I couldn't stare at the laptop so logged off after 2 hours. Been non stop migraine for 2 days since period ended.
I can't wait to move on to next round of stims in Thursday and feel normal again.

I hope everyone is looking after themselves. X

LiveLaughL0ve · 21/10/2024 13:09

@Vividdreamer88 I’m really sorry to hear that. Take good care of yourself this week.

@Feliciacat it sounds like your 10mm follicles will get there for Friday. 6 is a great number. 🙌🏼

@Purpleflowers17 best of luck tomorrow.

I had another scan this morning and we’re definitely just working with one follicle. 🤦🏼‍♀️ The lady who scanned me suggested we think about whether to do egg collection or just do it the “natural” way. It hadn’t occurred to me to consider that! Bloomin obvious really but my brain is muddled from everything.
I think we’re going to cancel egg collection. I’d much rather have sex than a needle up my floof!! (And they say romance is dead…) 😂😂

Purpleflowers17 · 21/10/2024 13:28

@Vividdreamer88 really sorry to hear your news. Look after yourself and be kind to yourself

kerrym87 · 21/10/2024 15:38

@Hummingbird36 for some people pessary can irritate cervix and it mixes wirh secretions so looks worse. If its little spots and streaks on wiping it's probably more that, although it's nerve wracking having any at all. I've had my 5th transfer Friday so waiting til my OTD on Halloween....and we get loads of small kids trick or treating here 😔 so nervous how we'll feel. Fingers crossed for you both

AnonS · 21/10/2024 15:49

@kerrym87 I had my 5th transfer last Friday too. Transfer buddies. My OTD is 30th.

Sorry to hear the bad news to the others, there were quite a few msgs to go through. I am so bad keeping on top of this.

So we're going through hell atm, we got our BFP on Sunday, my wife had been spotting since the Friday but we assumed just normal implantation/early pregnancy spotting, then yesterday the blood increased quite abit and changed from light pink to bright red. Everytime she goes to the loo it takes 2 or 3 wipes to completely wipe away the blood and she has constant smudging on blood on her panty liner. She's still testing positive as of this morning, but the cheapo Asda strip tests don't give the darkest line so not that reassuring.

We just got back from the clinic, they've done a blood test and now we have a gruelling wait til around 3pm to hear the results. If HCG levels look okay, they are putting my wife on Lubion progesterone injections and upping her utrogestan pessaries to 4 a day instead of 3.

We're not overly optimistic, it feels like too much blood, devastated!

Purpleflowers17 · 22/10/2024 11:31

@Hummingbird36 really have my fingers crossed for you. My best friend had really heavy bleeding and was fine. It’s completely worrying and hope the news is good.

Had transfer this morning Grade A on board and then have another 5 Grade As for freezing. I was petrified this morning in case they didn’t have good news. Now the dreaded TWW now

@Hummingbird36 I'm so sorry you guys are going through that. My fingers and toes are crossed for ye for good news later.

wateringcanface · 22/10/2024 14:13

Afternoon all, feeling pretty good but think it's because the drugs are still in my system. Had ec today, unfortunately they were only able to do one ovary due to a fibroid blocking visibility. They discussed going in through my abdomen to access but said it was risky so decided agaisnt it which i was disappointed about, but despite just using one ovary I still got 16 eggs, which I'm obviously happy with, but do wonder what my numbers would be if they could use both ovaries. They said when I ovulate those eggs out it may hurt.

Sorry @Hummingbird36 that you are going through this stress. Its relentless this process. X

wishinghard2 · 22/10/2024 14:46

Hi all

I hope you don’t mind me joining this thread. We are due to start our tablets on Thursday and alas our second (recent) round of IVF (sort off, we had 3 rounds 5 years ago and one round last year)
last year was the furthest we came as we did get a positive but resulted in a chemical loss.

I am 37 soon but my AMH is only 3 when last checked last year and in our last round we only had 2 eggs one of which fertilised and resulted in the chemical.

it’s a long shot but we are hoping this time we will be successful. We have the funds for one more round after this and will call it a day from there. I’ve been so excited to re start treatment and now it is here I feel all the what ifs like we all do.

wishing everyone well in their journey

I had a polyp removed last month and it was pretty easy and pain free. I had it removed just before starting stims but I think you can have it removed just before transfer but sure the clinic can advice. All the best

@Purpleflowers17 Sorry to hear you're going through this.

I'm now 4dp5dt with my first bout of thrush in about 14 years and think I am getting ill. I also have numerous ulcers on the roof of my mouth, which I think is self inflicted from eating a massive bag of pickled onion monster munch.

Scorbunny2 · 22/10/2024 15:41

@AnonS I'm a week into my injections today and have thrush since last Thursday, got cansten combi and still in discomfort today
