I'm due to commence IVF next month (injections to start 2nd October).
Thought I'd start a group for anyone going through the same thing at the same time to support each other ☺️

Amazing news on egg collection @Purpleflowers17! I hope you get a good fertilisation rate today.

My heart rate has gone up again this morning so now at 61bpm. I felt quite nauseous last night but of course that could be anything and I feel fine this morning. The feeling of my period coming as gone at least. The aim for today is to get through without bleeding and order the pregnancy tests. Very nervous as this is the exact day it all went wrong with my failed transfer.

Had a call from the lab at the clinic 13 have fertilised. One of the eggs was never mature so it was only 16 they could try and fertilise. Now we have the dreaded wait till Monday for another update this waiting really isn’t fun 😂

Is anyone drinking while in stimms? I'm not talking about getting smashed, but a small friday night glass of wine?

No my clinic are very strict with regards alcohol and you can have your cycle cancelled if they discover that you have drunk or smoked @wateringcanface. Not sure how they would know but I didn't want to take the risk.

They ask regularly and I am the worst liar so wouldn't get away with it 🤣

Oh wow, mine have not said anything either way. I know my friend who went through ivf drank a little. Ill refrain just to be on the safe side

Yes, my clinic say to abstain from all alcohol and caffeine. I think it’s mostly because of the effects these substances have on heart rate, blood pressure and hydration levels. They are basically the kiss of death for fertility because of this.

@Purpleflowers17 That's a really good number!! Fingers crossed they make it to day 5... I called my clinic this morning, although it's only day 2, I couldn't wait until Monday😅Looks like 2 of our embryos have a good grade so far, let's hope there'll be even more on Monday. Yes, it's horrible to wait, yesterday I felt so nauseous before calling them to learn how many fertilised!!

They told me not to drink, although they didn't threaten to cancel my cycle or anything! This IVF really takes all the fun out of our lives 😂..this is when I'd need a drink the most!!

Just ordered the pregnancy tests!

I think I was told not to drink (doing sober October anyway 😫) but the nurse actively encouraged me to have a drink after egg collection 😝

That was wise to now have any in the house.

I ordered some that arrived yesterday and I haven't even had the transfer yet 🙄

Yes not having them in the house is how I don't test early @spamOFtheDAY :) they arrived tomorrow ready for me to test Sunday morning :)

It also helps that I live very rurally so I can't just see one in a shop and buy it spur of the moment as someone would be bound to see me and it would be all over the village in two mins. Online delivery the only way.

@wateringcanface my clinic ask you not to drink & my DH also gave up the drink as well to ensure we didn’t have any issues. He is now delighted as he is going out with the lads tonight for a few drinks now he can!

I’m avoiding it but have got to admit the odd night it’s taken a lot for me not too. I don’t really drink but this process tests us! I haven’t drunk since 1st August! I’m living a very thrilling life 😂 Hoping will all be worthwhile in the end.

I've been drinking coffee 😬. They literally gave me 0 life style advice, just told me to take vit d and folic acid

It's tough, I'm not bothered about getting drunk but my Friday night routine is a nice glass or two of red wine, doesn't help I've got a lovely bottle already open. My dh's part was over months ago (surgical sperm retrieval) so he can do what he likes now 😂

I had my first monitoring scan this morning and it looks like only 1 follicle has read the memo (11 mm)… the rest are dithering quite far behind at 3-4 mm.
2 weeks of down regulation, and 1 week of stims and I’ve got a similar result to a regular cycle with one dominant follicle. Not the best start… 🤦🏼‍♀️

My test day is 5 days away (14dp5dt) I am honestly just desperate to test and get it over with. All of my symptoms have disappeared over the last few days except some brown spotting and on/off lights cramps. I also have a cold that so I feel utterly miserable! I just feel like it’s failed. We also didn’t get any blasts to freeze we just got one after a really promising start of lots of eggs and embroyos. I just feel so down :(

@Vividdreamer88 it could be implantation causing the spotting and cramps.
The whole process is so tough and having a cold on top is rubbish. I hope you feel better soon.

@Ru19 How did your transfer go? I had mine this morning. The countdown begins. When's you OTD?
