Anyone doing IVF round in September?✨

I was just wondering if anyone else was doing ivf in September and fancied some company? We’re starting our first round next week! I’m also happy to join existing threads if anyone knows of any on here? As ever, sending baby dust and the best of vibes to one and all ☺️💫✨❤️

Just been given a date today for FET in September today. First time FET, no fresh transfer as risk of OHSS. Egg collection was in August. Slightly worried as the date will be on cycle day 28? Seems a little late in the cycle to be doing it so was wondering if anyone else has had an FET and what cycle day it was? Wishing ye all luck have just read the whole thread 😁

Welcome @GreyJoker and great news about your FET happening in September! I’m afraid I’m not the best person to answer your question as I’m just about to embark on my first round (no prior EC) and have some serious gaps in my knowledge anyway! Hopefully someone else will be able to help ☺️

couple of questions for the group…

My period is literally about to start any day but weirdly has a tendency of coming early evening (around 7/8pm) does that count as day one? I think it is as long as it arrives before midnight.

Secondly would I be right in thinking the advice is to avoid Ibuprofen when going through ivf? I’m also thinking I avoid Mefenamic acid this cycle as I’m assuming that’s no good either. Fun few days ahead for me if that’s the case!!!🤪

@MrsBP15 no I was always told it day 1 is when you wake up with blood, as I would be similar to you and start in the evenings! Also was told to ibuprofen can't remember why, but I can't take it anyway as I have Crohn's!

@MrsBP15 as far as I know that would count as day 1. Mine came evening time and was day 1.
ibuprofen I was also told not to take during my cycle so pressume it’s for everyone.

Hi @GreyJoker. Is your FET medicated? I think medicated transfers are more flexible as it's more to do with days of progesterone before transfer. My last FET I took Progynova from day one, cyclogest from CD14 and transfer on CD20. I would contact the clinic for reassurance.

@MrsBP15 I think it depends on the clinic - if my period came in the evening the next day is counted as day one.

No ibuprofen but paracetamol is ok

In hospital back in May time (so my memory is a bit vague), the nurse told me that in the medical world if your period starts after 5:30pm then day 1 is the following morning. No idea why but they used this for my egg collection.

Somebody with medical training might be able to explain better.

Be glad to hear of any experience with the egg collection. Very nervous about it. Have PCOS.

Hi @Cloverhoof1234 welcome! I’m due to start my injections either today or tomorrow depending on when period starts so we’ll probably line up. I’m ovaleap and have high AMH though it is in range for my age group. This is my first round so have no idea how it’s all going to go! Am a bit nervous about OHSS but just trying to trust the process!

No, day 1 is a full day of flowing blood, so yours won’t be the day of the evening it will be the next day. X

Thanks everyone for your thoughts re period starting and ibuprofen. It still hasn’t arrived so not something I need to worry about yet. I’ll be sticking to paracetamol from here on in though for sure x

Anyone free to share how they felt after day 2 injection?

I’m back home from egg collection. They managed to get 5/5 eggs! I know there are no guarantees (and the odds are not really in my favour) that any of them will become embryos but I’m so happy with how today went.

They have managed my expectations that some are likely to prove too immature as the size of the follicles were very varied.

I can only take it one step at a time and today’s step went as well as it possibly could… so I’ll take that.

@Cloverhoof1234 are you on short or long protocol? I felt totally normal on the short protocol throughout.

I was little tired on the long protocol by day two of injections but that didn’t increase massively. I did get very bloated on day three and beyond. A cruel irony that I look very pregnant at the moment.

Hi everyone! I'm new on here and I've just started my first round of ivf with my dh after 2 years ttc and unexplained infertility. I don't have any friends or family who have been through ivf and this felt like the perfect place to reach out to others going through similar experiences.

I'm on day 3 of injections with estimated egg collection (all being well - fingers crossed) on Mon 9th Sep

Hello all! I’m starting next month. Started taking progesterone tablets today as we need to control when my period starts cos I’m having treatment abroad. We’re planning to start meds on 11th Sept and then we head to Prague on 18th. So excited it’s finally happening.
We’ve been ttc for 18 months and I’m 39 so time is ticking on.

Not sure which protocol I'm on. Started stims yesterday and egg collection booked for Friday 6th.

Were you bloated on short protocol?

No I didn’t have any side effects whatsoever on the short protocol but it didn’t work for me so that might not mean anything. It’s so different for everybody.

I felt very bloated my tummy literally ballooned, and I had headaches too. I was on the maximum dose of meriofert - 3 vials. How are you feeling? x
