Hello!

I was just wondering if anyone else was doing ivf in September and fancied some company? We’re starting our first round next week! I’m also happy to join existing threads if anyone knows of any on here? As ever, sending baby dust and the best of vibes to one and all ☺️💫✨❤️

@MrsBP15 I did query it but they just said it’s their new process, so I didn’t really have a choice unfortunately.

@Daniki I am doing a fresh transfer and the tentative date for my EC is also Friday the 13th, I am not sure how I feel about that 😅. I am just trying to tell myself that it will be easier to rest during the weekend if the procedure is on Friday.

Ah ok. Well I’m just going with the thought that they know best 🤷🏼‍♀️ if I don’t feel well etc I will of course contact them to see if they can take a look. Exciting that we’re both starting today, will be interesting to see if we follow the same timeline! What dosage are you on?

@MrsBP15 I am on Gonal-F 300 ui (I have low AMH). Good luck with the start of your treatment! It’s nice that we share the same timelines 🙂

Painty04 · 02/09/2024 17:51

Good luck starting your injections tonight @MrsBP15 and @YellowTack 😊

Question for the thread as a whole... What have you guys been told regarding optimum follicle size for egg collection? I went for a progress scan today and I'm not scheduled for EC till next week, so I'm just asking out of curiosity...

Daniki · 02/09/2024 19:03

@YellowTack Goodluck with EC! I had my EC on a Friday, and it was great having the weekend to recover I was quite sore the 2-3 days after!

My clinic won't remove anything smaller than 11mm at EC 🙃

Welcome @teampacey is your name a Dawson’s Creek reference? If it is hard agree, Pacey and Joey forever! Hope you’re doing well and feeling ok. What made you decide to do treatment abroad? Is this your first round? Sending you baby dust!!

Haha yes it absolutely is! Pacey is my perfect man. Fortunately my husband is quite like him.

I‘m not too bad thanks. Excited to get going and doing lots of positive thinking. We are going abroad as we have secondary infertility so don’t qualify for any on the NHS. The price difference is insane and they do ICSI as standard so better for me as I’m 39. This will be my first round.

Did you determine what day counts as day 1 of your period? I usually start in the evening too so interested to know. I saw you’ve started injections now- hope it’s going ok for you.

I’ve had lots of weird dreams since starting the progesterone! I also had my first acupuncture today. It was really good, she looked at all my blood results too and my TSH is a little high at 2.8. I knew this already and had asked my consultant about it but they weren’t bothered as it’s within the normal range but for fertility there is some research that suggests anything over 2.5 requires treatment. I’m now trying to convince the doctor to prescribe me some meds.

@Daniki I’m doing frozen transfer but AF isn’t due until next week. I’m started to get jealous as everyone else seems to be moving along quite quickly and my egg collection was on the 3rd July!

I don't blame you that would irritate me too! Iv been impatient and my egg collection was 16th august 🙈

Do you know when your transfer is yet? I keep looking at the calendar and trying to work out possible dates from potentially when AF should start. Not actually sure around which days transfer should be of a cycle though?

Daniki · 02/09/2024 19:55

@SlinkMcSlink I got my date for Friday the 13th, I had a scan today (day 13 of cycle). Depends on clinic some may do it sooner,'I thought it would be sooner but I think they may be backed up a bit scheduling wise! My lining was around 14mm today.

SlinkMcSlink · 02/09/2024 20:23

@Daniki Thanks, that’s useful to know. Are you on a natural or medicated cycle?

Daniki · 02/09/2024 20:25

@SlinkMcSlink medicated, I'm on Fematab at the minute and then will start lubion on the 8th!

GreyJoker · 02/09/2024 21:39

@Daniki FET this month too! Transfer on 10th. Woo 😂

Daniki · 02/09/2024 22:11

@GreyJoker oh lovely so exciting! God the wait until then is like the TWW and then we will have that to compete with too! 😂

Pacey forever! Dawson can jog on!!

yes Sunday was first day so yesterday was second. Did first injection last night which was easy peasy. Just glad that we’ve finally started. We’re private as we don’t qualify for nhs because I’m soooooooo old (38) so always knew we were going to have to cough up! Had acupuncture yesterday too, I’ll probs keep it up throughout treatment.

Do you mind sharing which country you’re going to for your treatment? How has it worked with work? Presumably you’ll have to take time off? Sending baby dust!

@MrsBP15 thank you for checking, I spent half an hour reading the leaflet and overthinking all the different steps but in the end it was fine.
I am also very excited to finally start so I am almost looking forward to my injection tonight 😂

Glad to hear everything went well for both you and @YellowTack It's exciting to get everything started isn't it!😁I noticed you also mentioned having acupuncture, I've never tried it but have heard good things, would you recommend?

Progress scan went well I think, they were happy with my lining and kept my meds dosage the same, but depending on how my scan goes tomorrow, they might bump it up a bit, see how much growing everything's done in that couple of days I guess

GreyJoker · 03/09/2024 17:05

@Daniki Ya I think waiting around for everything to finally get going is probably worse than TWW 😂we’re nearly there though! On exact same meds as you also so hopefully all goes well for us 🤞😁

teampacey · 03/09/2024 18:25

more than happy to share. I’m going to Prague, been out once to check out the clinic/meet cons/have bloods/get meds and was able to do it in a day. This time we are going for longer, 7-10 days. I just booked it as annual leave for work so no issues.

For all I highly recommend acupuncture. I felt very chilled after and came home and had a really nice nap! I have no idea if it helps but worth a go imo

Daniki · 03/09/2024 18:39

@GreyJoker please god it works for us! I know I'm finding it such a long wait, you've just a week to go now! When do you start the lubion?

GreyJoker · 03/09/2024 23:12

@Daniki same! It’s all just one long waiting game. Starting injections Thursday twice daily how about you? I’ve almost missed the injections in a strange way I just always felt like at least when I was doing them I was doing something pro-active 😂

Well done that’s so great! I did it myself but genuinely didn’t feel a thing, think it must be all the extra padding 😜 how are you feeling after your second? I’m feeling really tired but I don’t know if that’s just life or a side effect…
