Hello!

I was just wondering if anyone else was doing ivf in September and fancied some company? We’re starting our first round next week! I’m also happy to join existing threads if anyone knows of any on here? As ever, sending baby dust and the best of vibes to one and all ☺️💫✨❤️

@MrsBP15 Maybe I’m wrong then. It’s unfortunate they didn’t let you know the reasons prior to prescribing.

Painty04 · 12/10/2024 20:50

@MrsBP15 Like you, I'm also due to have a frozen transfer in November. I've been prescribed oestradiol (estrogen) and cyclogest pessaries (progesterone). I think the oestradiol is to boost my lining (although it was perfectly fine in my first transfer) and the pessaries are to maintain it.

Looks like your prognova is my oestradiol and will be used to plump your lining. But I'm by no means a professional!! 😂

MrsBP15 · 12/10/2024 20:59

Thanks @Painty04 that makes sense! That’s great that we’re transfer buddies I wasn’t sure there were many left what with all the BFPs. When are you due to have yours? If my period comes when it’s due I’ll have transfer on 5th November.

@MrsBP15 I'm due to have my transfer on the 7th Nov, so just a couple days behind you 🤞 though it still feels like my period may come early, so that plan may get completely thrown out the window! My meds are coming on Tues so at least I'll be prepared 🤞

MrsBP15 · 12/10/2024 21:26

Yay! That’s great that we’ll hopefully be close together. Is this your second transfer? I’m sorry it didn’t work in September. Have you done anything different this time? My meds arrived on Friday as we’re going away for a week next weekend.

Transfer buddies 🤞😁 Yes second transfer, so my first was fresh and this will be my first frozen🤞

I've started going for acupuncture, after several ladies on here highly recommended it and I'm taking some extra vitamins. What about you? Are you doing any particular "prep" ? That's the perfect time to get away tbh, hopefully give you some relaxation time ahead of transfer

MrsBP15 · 12/10/2024 22:06

@Painty04 im going to start up acupuncture again and hopefully have it day before ET. I’ve been much the same though honestly been a bit more lax on a diet. Still eating well and not drinking alcohol etc but need to step it up again I think. What extra vitamins are you taking?

OP posts:
Painty04 · 12/10/2024 22:27

I was already taking a good multi vitamin with folic acid etc. But I've started taking coq10, and at my first session of acupuncture they recommended I take additional vit c and omega 3, which I might look into. Seems like a lot 😂 but if it helps 🤷

MrsBP15 · 13/10/2024 07:34

Yeah I’ve been taking wild nutrition fertility multi vitamin which has loads of stuff. I also take prescription folic acid and coq-10. I might buy some omega 3 but feel like that should be enough! I sounds like with the transfer there’s not a lot you can do to encourage it to stick. Lots of myths out there but nothing concrete. Just cross fingers and hope for the best!!

@MrsBP15 Stsying hydrated after transfer to minimise uterine contractions is something you can do and eating bananas 🍌☺️

MrsBP15 · 14/10/2024 08:32

Thanks @PurpleRayne89 is the eating bananas 🍌 thing for anything in particular? I could be wrong but it does seem like there isn’t much one can do to encourage implantation but I don’t know if others think differently? Like I say, I’ll continue to eat well, try and reduce stress, get plenty of sleep (haha yeah right) but if there’s anything else, I’m certainly willing to give it a go!

PurpleRayne89 · 14/10/2024 08:38

@MrsBP15 Apparently bananas are a thing. They make the lining more receptive according to sources but like you said, who really knows. I do think staying hydrated is a thing if anything. Not having to full a bladder on transfer day too. You should feel full but not like you’re about to burst. I also drank raspberry leaf tea and too Uniquinol for a few days following transfer. I had an early blast so I wanted to have the energy to continue to divide inside me. I then had acupuncture two days after. Oh I also ate a fillet steak when I returned home from transfer with steamed broccoli. 🥦

who knows if any of it worked but it’s things I didn’t do on my unsuccessful cycles and things I did with my successful ones.

PurpleRayne89 · 14/10/2024 08:39

I should add I was drinking raspberry leaf tea throughout my stimming…

Lucymorris · 14/10/2024 08:59

The things I did which I didn’t do on first cycle which failed, and did do on second cycle which was successful, was cutting out caffeine completely, drinking lots of pomegranate juice, and eating lots of pineapple including the core! Again, may have been a coincidence but worth a try 🙏🏻

MrsBP15 · 14/10/2024 17:03

Thank you @PurpleRayne89 did you just take ubiquinol after transfer? I’ve been taking cow-10 for months but realise ubiquinol is stronger. I’ve also been drinking raspberry leaf tea, did you drink that after transfer too? I’ve read some stuff about bone broth as well so I’ve been having that too plus I like it so that’s a bonus! Was the fillet steak because that’s a good thing to have it just because you fancied it? Sounds delish either way!

OP posts:
MrsBP15 · 14/10/2024 17:05

Thanks @Lucymorris ive just put my order in for some pomegranate juice, why not! Did you have the pineapple core in the run up or just afterwards?🍍im happy to try these things because they’re all pretty pleasant to be fair!x

OP posts:
PurpleRayne89 · 14/10/2024 17:07

@MrsBP15 Fillet steal was just because I fancied it 😜 I didn’t take ubiquinol leading up only after transfer as I thought my embryo might need energy to continue dividing. I had the raspberry leaf tea after transfer too. Maybe for the first week and that was it.

MrsBP15 · 14/10/2024 17:08

Question for the group…what’s the deal with embryo transfer and Covid? I haven’t had it recently but I work in a school and am in the office every day so can be around lots of people with lots of germs! 🦠 I notice they asked on the form if we’d had Covid in the last three months. I suppose I’m asking if I need to kick things up a gear in terms of avoiding crowds etc to mitigate risk of catching it. Or does it not matter if say I got it now and recovered by the time I had my transfer in about three weeks?

OP posts:
PurpleRayne89 · 14/10/2024 17:11

@MrsBP15 My two pence would be that Covid may impact the immune system for that period of time after infection which could cause the body to over react to foreign objects such as an embryo. Who knows tho! I work in a prison so I’m always in contact with infected folk or whichever diseases. I never thought about it until now.

Lucymorris · 14/10/2024 18:32

@MrsBP15 i had it for about a week in the run up to transfer and then for the week after too. I read online it can help so worth a try although the core is pretty tough so gets stuck in your teeth 😆 worth a try though, and pomegranate juice is really nice! xx

PurpleRayne89 · 14/10/2024 19:41

@Lucymorris I am allergic to pineapple otherwise it’s something I likely would have tried too.

I forgot I added a magnesium supplement to my diet too. Prior and after ET. I don’t take it anymore.

MrsBP15 · 15/10/2024 12:11

Thanks @PurpleRayne89 i suppose I’m trying to ascertain whether a clinic would not go through with a transfer if you’d recently had Covid. I might ask around.

OP posts:
MrsBP15 · 15/10/2024 12:12

You inspired me @Lucymorris i had some pomegranate juice this morning. I think I’ll do the pineapple a little closer to the time!

MrsBP15 · 15/10/2024 12:13

just wondering if there are many still left on here who are still going through treatment or if it’s just @Painty04 and I? Thinking about starting a new thread if lots of people have now transition to being pregnant?

OP posts:
MrsBP15 · 19/10/2024 07:34

Hi gang hope you’re well and looking forward to a lovely weekend ahead? As mentioned I think I’m going to start a new thread or join an existing one if anyone knows of any? Maybe let me know if you want to join? I know some of you are at the pregnancy stage and some are perhaps still grieving losses so realise it might not be appropriate!❤️‍🩹 thank you to everyone who has given advice and support on here, I certainly didn’t think setting this up in August it would still be going several months later! Much love and baby dust ✨ xx
