IVF / ICSI August

I’ve looked for a thread for August but couldn’t find one? (Please feel free to correct me if I’m wrong)
We are starting a long protocol at the beginning of July ready for stims and EC in August. This is our first IVF, I’ve been infertile for 15 years due to complications during endo surgery so always knew IVF was my only option. I met my DH seven years ago and now we are ready to try our luck.

I suddenly feel quite anxious about the whole process although I’ve known it’s my only option for a long time, now I've finally actually looked into what's involved and people's experiences. I’ve had to loose 5st to get my bmi inside requirements which has been incredibly hard but I’m proud I got to this point.

I've got quite a complicated gynea history so preparing myself for a rocky ride, but I’m also thankful for my medical history because I’m already very used to those awful internal scans 🤣

I hope your extra day of stims does the trick @camelinastorm 🤞🏼I think I had to do an extra day too and it did help.

@Daniki glad to hear you have plenty of follicles but hope they can sort the transfer for you, it must be hard managing time when you work in a school!

Egg collection planned for Friday for me! So many of us so close together in dates.

@GLizzie88 I think I'm on CD 12, glad to hear they sound about right, was disheartened when the said inject stims for one more day and EC now Thursday not Wednesday, just felt a bit of a little fail, but if the 14mm ones need that extra time to catch up then that's fine
@Daniki wow yes that is a lot of folicles, does you clinic count them all? Mine only counts the ones over a certain size it's strange 🤞🏼 for no OHSS

Hi @camelinastorm I'm on day 11 today and had 7 stims so far. Two more stims planned for tonight, tomorrow and then a second scan Wednesday. They seem to only count the 10mm and bigger follicles. Today there was 21mm x1, 19mm x1, 14mm x1, 13mm x1, 12mm x3 & 10mm x2. A lot better than last time where it all went wrong with one massive probably over-mature follicle and a cyst to add into the mix!

I’m on my first round of IVF through NHS been on fostimon for the last 12 days on long protocol and I’ve been given the OK for egg collection on Wednesday, trigger shot tonight. Excited and a bit nervous!

Just had our transfer today!!!
We had 12 eggs collected, 8 of those fertilised, 6 have made it to blastocyst on day 5 and 5 graded A, and 1 graded C. They are going to give me a call tomorrow with how the other two are doing.
I was over the moon with the result when the embryologist told us. However I keep reading online that so many people had failed cycles with a grade A 🥲 …can’t help but feeling anxious now!!

@camelinastorm yes they count all follicles even the small ones! Back for another scan on Wednesday and probably collection on Thursday, will know more at the scan!
Having a few painful twinges so hoping I don't have OHSS and telling myself it's defo a freeze all so it's a nice surprise if not 😂

@Daniki mine literally only count the larger ones so feels like I have none but they said 10-12 ones at over 14mm so hoping we get some out of them, I'm having a few twinges tonight just bought some electrolytes as heard this can help,

@camelinastorm oh I never heard that and funny I took a few diorlyte over the weekend! Mine changed quite a bit since Friday so a few days could yous a good push! 😊

@Daniki hopefully the few extra days will help, they took bloods today to check progesterone and some other things and they have booked me in Thursday at 915 for EC so all must be looking promising from the bloods, just had planned for it Wednesday 😂

@camelinastorm we are the same! Mines not confirmed for Thursday she said most likely, she took
My bloods just incase and I'm back for a scan Wednesday anyway!

@Daniki oh fingers crossed for you I'm sure we will be fine, electrolytes all the way 😂 mine don't do another scan tbh I'm glad as it's a 2 hour drive so becomes tiring tbh

@camelinastorm same mine is also a 2 hour drive! And I got very little sleep last night as we had a thunder storm and my dog was terrified 😂 fingers crossed all goes well for us 👌😊

I also had to purchase 2 more meriofert don't know the cost until Thursday 😂 I'm hoping they do me a deal 😂

I'm wondering what people are doing about exercise? I do a lot of HIIT which I've been told I should probably avoid when I start in a few days. I guess I'll start yoga or gentle jogging instead but the thought doesn't fill me with joy! Exercise is vital for my mental health so need to find something!

@camelinastorm god we're very lucky in Ireland our meds don't go over €80 per month here due to a scheme, I would be bankrupt!

@Hat24 walking is recommended as you don't want to risk ovarian torsion etc, maybe if there is a nice area to walk in it may help? I don't think yoga is recommended did I read, but could be wrong! 😂

@Daniki not even yoga? When will the madness stop! 😂

@Daniki I've been the same with twinges, good to know about the electrolytes I'll look to get some!
I can't believe you guys have 2 hours to drive, I thought mine felt long at 1.5 - 2 hours round trip!
@Hat24 I was told the same, have stopped doing spin classes but weights are OK. It's the 'stress' on your body I believe too. I agree though, the amount you can't do is wild. I've been the same, trying to keep walking and I've been continuing with pilates.

@GLizzie88 Goodluck let us know how you get on! Going to horse some diorlyte into me now to see does it help nausea 🤢

@Hat24i know haha and I could be wrong about yoga! I was listening to a podcast and trying to think about what she had said about exercise and pretty sure walking was about all that's recommended!
We're due to move house on Friday so duno how I'm going to manage packing up and cleaning after egg collection 🙈 my husband will be doing the majority 😂

@LimeBird Thank you so much for sharing! It’s great that you were able to get 8 eggs. Honestly, it’s scary how easy it is to get anxious about things and go down rabbit holes of researching, looking at statistics, and so on between appointments. It’s good to hear about real experiences.
How many days until your official test date? How are you feeling? Keeping my fingers crossed! x

Appointment went well, they've said either Thursday or Friday EC! I'm hoping for Friday, I find out later when I call them back.
I can't remember what I had, but hoping for Friday really. Eek!
