IVF / ICSI August

I’ve looked for a thread for August but couldn’t find one? (Please feel free to correct me if I’m wrong)
We are starting a long protocol at the beginning of July ready for stims and EC in August. This is our first IVF, I’ve been infertile for 15 years due to complications during endo surgery so always knew IVF was my only option. I met my DH seven years ago and now we are ready to try our luck.

I suddenly feel quite anxious about the whole process although I’ve known it’s my only option for a long time, now I've finally actually looked into what's involved and people's experiences. I’ve had to loose 5st to get my bmi inside requirements which has been incredibly hard but I’m proud I got to this point.

I've got quite a complicated gynea history so preparing myself for a rocky ride, but I’m also thankful for my medical history because I’m already very used to those awful internal scans 🤣

Oh no, sorry to hear about all the headaches people are suffering from! I was on Ovaleap and then added in Fyramadel for the last 5 days or so. None caused any symptoms aside from bloating what I’m realising is we all react so differently! I hope the headaches improve soon for everyone.

@Bruceytwo I’m with you on the TWW! I just had my transfer yesterday, so pretty early days but trying to stay calm/sane. Meditation is helping a bit. I was worried this morning as saw a slight light brown spot in discharge and worried it’s the embryo expelling itself already 😔 I really hope not! Best of luck to you for your wait too.

Thinking of you. I hope it's all OK.

Yes we're all in slightly different stages, I appreciate hearing everyone's different experiences. It's all happening so quickly, I've been given provisional egg collection dates of next Friday or the following Monday, meaning my transfer will be the week of the 19th August at some point!

Quick update in case anyone else is worried about the random brown spot straight after transfer- I spoke to the nurse and she said the embryo is not visible to naked eye at this stage so it wouldn’t have been that, it is more likely old blood from the catheter going in to the uterus.

I was going to say it's more likely from the procedure, best of luck 🙏😊

No I'm with Jessops in Sheffield. I have my first scan on Tuesday so I'll find out then. Keeping everything crossed for it being Friday.

I've just seen that, thanks for updating us, I'm keeping everything crossed for you.

Blossomofhope · 08/08/2024 19:16

@Daniki so sorry to hear, sounds like you’ve had a terrible week. Look after yourself!

@Bruceytwo im also in the tww, I had my transfer Tuesday. Can’t believe it was only Tuesday, weird going back to normal pretending like I had a normal weekend. You’re so good to hold out. I’m going to test Sunday. How are you feeling?

@LimeBird just realised you’re also in the tww. How are you feeling?

Hi ladies, this is exciting everything's moving so quickly and there's some great news. Keeping everything crossed for you all. I. Just waiting to make the call, expecting to start my injections on Tuesday or Wednesday. Thinking of you all.

Best of luck with them @GLizzie88 ☀️

Bruceytwo · 08/08/2024 20:07

@limebird and @blossomofhope congrats on transfer, wellhope you guys are feeling ok.

It's getting exciting with lots of ECs coming up!

I've always tested early but it made me so sad I promised not to do it to myself this time! As I didn't test out the trigger I couldn't even test in moments of weakness so that kind of worked.

Tomorrow I'll be 8dp3dt, equivalent of 6dp5dt, so it should be safe. Getting nervous as I feel very different to previous times, so I've kind of convinced myself it'll be positive and will be devastated by a BFN! But what will be will be.

LimeBird · 08/08/2024 20:14

Aw best of luck @Bruceytwo keeping everything crossed for you!

@Blossomofhope I’m feeling ok thanks, physically no symptoms from the progesterone pessaries! I agree it’s so weird trying to get on with normal life and work etc. while wondering what the future holds! I’ve been trying to take day by day, but can’t believe it’s only been a day since transfer, feels like forever! 😂 how are you feeling?

I hope everyone starting injections or getting scans gets off to a good start and that those pesky headaches go away for those stimming!

Bruceytwo · 09/08/2024 06:32

So, I can't quite believe it but I got my BFP! 4th time is the charm apparently! I know a positive now doesn't necessarily mean a baby but I'm still very happy to get this far :)

Has anybody else in 2WW suffered with bloating? Mine has really come to a head today and I'm beginning to worry about OHSS...

camelinastorm · 09/08/2024 07:33

@Bruceytwo oh wow this is amazing news !!!! So happy for you !!!
Literally such good news to wake up to congrats 🥰

Blossomofhope · 09/08/2024 07:52

@Bruceytwo Ahh amazing news!! Delighted for you. Good to hear the first result in the group is a positive one. 🥰
I’ve definitely struggled with bloating this time. It’s 8 days since egg retrieval and I’m still so bloated and I only retrieved 4 eggs. Do you have other symptoms you’re worried are OHSS? Maybe update your clinic just incase.

@LimeBird Just bloating and a little nausea yday for me which I know could be down to anything but it was strange for me to not be able to eat lunch.

GLizzie88 · 09/08/2024 08:00

Congratulations that's amazing news!! Thinking of the rest of you in the tww.

Oh wow congratulations @Bruceytwo that’s such great news! I hope everything goes well! You’ll have to share any tips you picked up this time that you think may have made the difference! Although I know sometimes it’s just random isn’t it! Best of luck 😘
Re: bloating, I had it a bit but not any more noticeable than normal tbh 😂 I am generally a bloaty person. I hope yours settles down! X

Daniki · 09/08/2024 11:48

@Bruceytwo congratulations!! 🥰 what day are you on now that you tested? Hope we see more BFPS to come!

I had my first monitoring scan this morning everything is looking good, 23 follicles she could see, back in Monday then!
