IVF / ICSI August

I’ve looked for a thread for August but couldn’t find one? (Please feel free to correct me if I’m wrong)
We are starting a long protocol at the beginning of July ready for stims and EC in August. This is our first IVF, I’ve been infertile for 15 years due to complications during endo surgery so always knew IVF was my only option. I met my DH seven years ago and now we are ready to try our luck.

I suddenly feel quite anxious about the whole process although I’ve known it’s my only option for a long time, now I've finally actually looked into what's involved and people's experiences. I’ve had to loose 5st to get my bmi inside requirements which has been incredibly hard but I’m proud I got to this point.

I've got quite a complicated gynea history so preparing myself for a rocky ride, but I’m also thankful for my medical history because I’m already very used to those awful internal scans 🤣

Sorry to hear that @Hat24 . You never know though. Hopefully they're good and strong!

I have a time to call in, so I'm just trying to focus on my study now!

@Hat24 I can understand your disappointment it feels disheartening given the effort and discomfort but I'm pleased that you were able to get 4 fertilised and hope they continue to grow grow grow!

After todays baseline scan, and having to be scanned twice by 2 people. Due to a cyst on the outside of my ovary.

I can finally start injections tonight. 🩷

Hi just wanted to say hello. I am heading to Prague for ICSI next month!

@teampacey @firefly42 Could I please ask what clinics you are both using in Prague? And would you recommend them so far?
I've just had a failed round in the UK and we have one more embryo to try, so if that also fails I think we will also start to look abroad

I’m with Gynem. Been out once for tests and a scan and was very impressed. I’m an NHS midwife so very picky. I’ve got all my meds and have great coms with the clinic. I go out next month for treatment- so excited and anxious!

@Ru19 Hi there.I am with Gennet.Find them very good.You will always hear good and bad stories about each clinic.We were extremely lucky to be successful on our 2nd ivf cycle with them.

I had some brown discharge today - about 5ps worth. Proper panicking but nothing else so far 😳

Hey all, unfortunately we got a negative today. We're absolutely devastated. Found out from the blood test that it appears it didn't actually implant, so all my symptoms were just progesterone side effects which is pretty cruel. I want to keep seeing how you're all doing but it looks like it's at least 2 cycles before we can go again.
It's such an exhausting process,I hope you're all OK and looking after yourselves.

@GLizzie88 so sorry to hear this? Was it your first go? Try and enjoy the two months before you have to go again as the IVF ‘month’ is so hard on everyone involved

Had a successful EC today with 4 follicles collected but only 3 were viable 🤞 fingers crossed

@Lil89 glad it went well, how are you feeling now? Will you get an update on fertilisation tomorrow?

@GLizzie88 I’m so sorry, my heart goes out to you 😔 Let your body rest and don’t beat yourself up too much for buying into the progesterone symptoms.

Hi all, have had a bit of a break from social media the past week following my negative test but just caught up and wanted to pop back on to say @GLizzie88 so sorry to hear your news - this process is so hard isn’t it! I was rooting for you. Sending you big hugs.

I’ve felt rubbish since coming off the progesterone, 2 migraines and still feeling quite bruised/ sore from the whole process. Got our review meeting next week so will see what they have to say about our cycle!
Hope everyone is ok and best of luck for anyone awaiting embryo developments and those surviving the 2WW 🧡

@GLizzie88 I'm so sorry to hear about your negative test. Take time to process and heal and treat yourself to something - whether that's a nice hot bath, sushi, a refreshing alcoholic drink, spa day etc- something you were holding off doing while waiting to test. Take care and good luck with any future rounds.

@Natasha90 good luck with starting the injections! Sounds like you've had a tough time to even get to this point this cycle

@Lil89 congrats on your eggies! Hope they fertilise well and you get a nice update tomorrow

@LimeBird I hope your review is useful - are you planing another round? I found my review last time quite reassuring with a clear plan of some things to alter this round and so far it's been a more successful round in terms of number of eggs collected and fertilised. I hope things go well for you

I get an update on my 3 little fertilised eggo's tomorrow. Probably won't sleep much tonight! Feeling quite anxious. Grow eggo's grow!

@GLizzie88 I'm so so sorry. This whole thing is just so brutal and unfair. How come you have to wait 2 cycles to go again? Is that to let your body recover first?

Just to update you guys. Had to do our second test today and the line was fainter. Think it’s an early MC / chemical again. Had enough now!
