I’ve looked for a thread for August but couldn’t find one? (Please feel free to correct me if I’m wrong)
We are starting a long protocol at the beginning of July ready for stims and EC in August. This is our first IVF, I’ve been infertile for 15 years due to complications during endo surgery so always knew IVF was my only option. I met my DH seven years ago and now we are ready to try our luck.

I suddenly feel quite anxious about the whole process although I’ve known it’s my only option for a long time, now I've finally actually looked into what's involved and people's experiences. I’ve had to loose 5st to get my bmi inside requirements which has been incredibly hard but I’m proud I got to this point.

I've got quite a complicated gynea history so preparing myself for a rocky ride, but I’m also thankful for my medical history because I’m already very used to those awful internal scans 🤣

Hi guys. Do we think this may be the start of a very early line? FMU 7dp5dt. I tested a couple of times after transfer (I think it was about 4dp) to make sure the trigger shot was out of my system and got clear BFN, so I'm hoping my tired eyes are not deceiving me at a squinter!

It definitely looks faint to me. Keeping everything crossed for you.

I think ive spotted today, no idea what that means at this stage. This is an absolute head scramble, I'm exhausted today!

Daniki · 28/08/2024 09:35

@Zeeha looks like it to me tentative congrats!

@GLizzie88 🤞🏻🤞🏻 crossed for you! I wouldn't worry about the spotting it can mean anything, implantation bleeding etc! The amount of stories I read of people thinking their period is here and they get a postive!

GLizzie88 · 28/08/2024 09:39

I would be very early if it was, I'm on day 25 of my cycle, so I'd be 3 days early. I was convinced yesterday it hadn't worked and I don't want to get my hopes up! How are you doing @Daniki ?

Daniki · 28/08/2024 10:07

@GLizzie88 lots of time yet 🙌 it's just such a mindfuck this whole process I find. Very hard to keep positive when you're used to setbacks. I try(try being the operative word) to not look at negative or unsuccessful stories and look up successful ones to try and keep my positivity up! Doesn't always work 😂 in doing good, I have a scan on Monday to check lining and hopefully get a date for my transfer then. Iv been having so much EWCM the last few days wonder is it from the Fematab tablet I'm on as it's estrogen. Debating DTD incase I got pregnant naturally but I won't 😂

GLizzie88 · 28/08/2024 10:43

I say spotted, to be crude I don't know which end it was from. I've been using the pessaries and it's made me quite sore by this point put it that way!
I know what you mean @Daniki . Even a few days is so hard to wait! I hope you get your transfer date on Monday, that part is really exciting!

BakinABaby · 28/08/2024 11:07

Huge congrats @Zeeha ! That's a solid "squinter".

Daniki · 28/08/2024 11:08

@GLizzie88 oh for yea they are notorious for spotting! Which end are you using them? No worries about TMI round here, we leave our dignity at the door with those bloody transvaginal ultrasounds 🤣I do see it mentioned using them rectally can help! I will never have that option as I had my colon and rectum removed due to Crohn's and now have a Barbie butt 🤣

GLizzie88 · 28/08/2024 12:47

@Daniki I was recommended by a friend who's been through it to use them in the back end! So I have genuinely no idea where the spotting was from.
That is very true!! I've found it the last couple of appointments, particularly the transfer. There's about 3 people right in there 😆😆.
Ahh wow! At least that narrows your options then. A barbie butt 😆🙈 never heard that before!

BakinABaby · 28/08/2024 13:35

I'm back from my transfer. They implanted one embryo of "pretty nice" grade 😀, didn't actually say the grading, but I guess it doesn't matter much.

Unfortunately again no frosties. Of the 8 they collected only 3 were mature. I was gutted, that's even worse than last time. Then 3 fertilized and one embryo. I'm not sure I'd have it in me to do yet another retrieval.

GLizzie88 · 28/08/2024 13:48

@BakinABaby keeping everything crossed for you! I was exactly the same, so I'm hoping this one works. Otherwise we're waiting 2 months for the next cycle. Where I might look into other testing if this doesn't work, as we haven't been given any explanations as to what's going on / why it hasn't been working before.

BakinABaby · 28/08/2024 13:58

@GLizzie88 the unexplanedness is the worst isn't it. Before we started IVF I told my partner I'm good for up to 2 retrievals, but then again I expected to get more embryos :/ We already decided that if this one doesn't work we're gonna have a proper sit down about if we even wanna continue down this path. We have one lovely DC and should count ourselves lucky.

Have you tested yet or waiting out for Friday?

GLizzie88 · 28/08/2024 14:06

@BakinABaby that's sensible. I thought we'd get on with another cycle but if it doesn't work we want to go on a holiday and see if there's any testing we can do. But we've had to chat about that on the 70% chance this cycle doesn't work.
We're going to wait until Friday. It's incredibly hard to, but it'll get here soon enough... (tell me that when I'm in a spiral again!).

pixiecircle · 28/08/2024 17:04

@over30sclub I'm so sorry lovely 😞 when's your clinic's test date?

@Hat24 def comfy clothes, get a tasty treat for after, and spend the rest of the day relaxing and binging something on telly. I also had an electrolyte drink to replenish minerals and prevent OHSS — Good luck tomorrow!!!

@GLizzie88 commend you on your restraint 💪 I'm 4dp5dt and also exhausted, sore boobs, and feeling super congested today. I've had a cold for over 10 days, and was getting better, but feels like it's gotten worse this morning... Might be the hormones?

wishfulbean · 28/08/2024 19:26

Hello again and thanks for the welcome. My scan the other day went really well and I had enough for egg collection today. I got an amazing 7 eggs which is more than the 3 from last round so feeling hopeful.

This is all in attempt for child number 2. My first was conceived during my first ever round of ivf through the nhs (so fortunate) and during that round we had 8 collected (low amh then too although obviously not as bad a now!). For those of you on your first round I wanted to let you know it is very possible to get lucky!

Attempt for child no 2 haven’t been as smooth (as I mentioned in my last post) but so pleased after my EC collection today… now on to the waiting to see how many of the eggies will fertilise!

Good luck to those who are waiting to hear about results post egg collection and I hope the 2ww is going ok for those of you at that stage!

@Hat24 I hope egg collection goes well for you tomorrow

@Daniki Hello fellow Crohnie and Barbie butt! I hope you had a much fun explaining why you couldn’t have the pain relief pesserie as I did! I had to explain it a couple of times which just amused me more than anything

@Zeeha that looks like the beginnings of a lovely positive!

@over30sclub so sorry it’s looking negative so far but as someone here has already said it can take up to five days to implant so a negative right now is not certain. Here’s a site someone shared in these boards during my last round

Loved reading everyone's updates once again! I had my scan today with Egg Collection confirmed for Friday, so excited and nervous in equal measure 🙃

They have identified 4 follicles that have grown enough for EC but others measure at 10mm and 9mm so fingers crossed they grow before Friday! 🤞

Natasha90 · 28/08/2024 20:59

Sorry I have been missing in action.

I finished the pill Saturday and just started to bleed this evening (how painful 😥 is this period)

I will email the nurses tomorrow and I assume I will be booked in for a scan Friday. The hopefully injections.

Hope everyone is doing ok. Xx

GLizzie88 · 29/08/2024 07:59

Morning everyone! @Hat24 good luck today. The team are amazing, look after yourself later!
I've had a banging headache for the last 3 days which isn't helpful, I have an apprenticeship exam on Monday to study for and I've got too much of a headache to study! A day and a half left now until we know how it's gone.

Capybara95 · 29/08/2024 08:02

@Zeeha that looks promising! Congratulations!! Did you test again today?

@BakinABaby congrats on your transfer. Hoping this is the one for you 🤞🏼

@GLizzie88 good luck for testing tomorrow! How are you feeling?

@wishfulbean thats great you got a good number at your collection! Hope you’re feeling ok today.

Zeeha · 29/08/2024 08:19

Thank you all!

@GLizzie88 did your spotting stop? You're a lot better person than me for not caving!

@BakinABaby I have my fingers and toes crossed for you!

@Capybara95 yes I did 😂 I did a cheapy that I think has the same sensitivity as a frer yesterday so I could try compare today as frer tests are so dear! I think it's similar this morning (8dp) or maybe ever so slightly darker. It's hard when the lighting isn't exactly the same. What do you think? I think hcg doubles roughly every 48 hours or so, so I guess tomorrow will be more telling!

Capybara95 · 29/08/2024 08:37

@Zeeha it definitely looks a bit darker to me! It’s hard to tell because the other one has obviously been drying for a day as well but there’s definitely good lines on both, congratulations! Is this your first pregnancy? I feel sick at the thought of testing now that it’s getting close

Zeeha · 29/08/2024 09:01

@Capybara95 I hope you're right! They're both taken just after 5 mins, I've put them together on my phone as I don't think you can trust them after too long when they're dried out 😅

Yes twice before. First time we conceived naturally, but that sadly ended in a missed miscarriage. The process of what happened there was very traumatic. We then discovered a male factor so we tried letrozole and a trigger injection. I didn't believe it was going to work as the odds were so low, but it got to test day and amazingly there was a good line and we now have a daughter. We decided on IVF this time to speed the process up and hopefully give her a sibling.

Have you ever been pregnant before? I think whenever you test at a point it could be positive the adrenaline is insane. My heart was racing yesterday. I have to go for a walk round the house whilst it develops 🤦

Capybara95 · 29/08/2024 09:09

@Zeeha oh yes sorry I can see now that it’s not one photo, today definitely looks darker then!

I’m so sorry to hear about your miscarriage I’m sure that was really hard but that is great that you have your daughter from your second pregnancy. Hoping this one goes smoothly for you.

no never been pregnant before, we are make factor also but my husband has anti sperm antibodies so all the usual tests look ok but the antibodies attach to the sperm and stop them fertilising the eggs. So we were told ICSI would stop that and we did get a good fertilisation rate and I think a normal drop off between day 3 and 5 so I’m hoping they’re right.

yes I’m already thinking I could do it then go downstairs and make a drink or something to fill the time hahah. I’ll probably be awake doing it at about 5am lol

Trying4eva · 29/08/2024 09:34

Hi everyone. Good to hear their updates. Today was my OTD and had a good line - then convinced myself it was only like this as I had a dehydrated wee and therefore that’s why it was dark 😂. Honestly ivf is the worst but at the same time great. My clinic do counselling, I’ve actually asked for a bit of help today. Got to do another test for the clinic on Sunday. They don’t do bloods!
