I’ve looked for a thread for August but couldn’t find one? (Please feel free to correct me if I’m wrong)
We are starting a long protocol at the beginning of July ready for stims and EC in August. This is our first IVF, I’ve been infertile for 15 years due to complications during endo surgery so always knew IVF was my only option. I met my DH seven years ago and now we are ready to try our luck.

I suddenly feel quite anxious about the whole process although I’ve known it’s my only option for a long time, now I've finally actually looked into what's involved and people's experiences. I’ve had to loose 5st to get my bmi inside requirements which has been incredibly hard but I’m proud I got to this point.

I've got quite a complicated gynea history so preparing myself for a rocky ride, but I’m also thankful for my medical history because I’m already very used to those awful internal scans 🤣

@nicky0 good luck today hope all goes smoothly!!

@Trying4eva we’re the exact same time then nice to have a few people in the same boat :) hope you’re feeling ok! Let’s hope this is your sticky one 🤞🏻

@Capybara95 yes first transfer for me - I felt fine immediately after EC but I’m still not 100% everything feels a bit sore and crampy trying not to read into anything too much to be honest! I’ve been lucky I can just WFH. How are you feeling? X

@GLizzie88 Sorry to hear you weren’t able to freeze but as others have said it only takes one ❤️

how does everyone feel about testing earlier? NHS website says it’s ok to test 16 days after EC which would be 30th Aug but they’ve told me my test date is 2nd sept which feels like forever - think I’ll probably cave before then but going to try and hold out as long as I can.

GLizzie88 · 22/08/2024 09:06

I'm in the same boat @over30sclub glad I can wfh too, especially on days like today! My blood test is 14 days after, which is also different to the nhs recommendation.
I felt bloated until Monday (3 days after EC) then I've felt fine since. This is my first round too.

Trying4eva · 22/08/2024 09:34

I’m going to try really really hard to not test early (I have every other time), it’s so hard knowing that your body knows and you could find out, yet your supposed to wait 😂. Previously I’ve secretly tested and not told my boyfriend so that I could manage his expectations knowing that if it fails I could try and look after him. Determined to not do this this time and wait… test is a week today…

Capybara95 · 22/08/2024 10:19

@over30sclub you’re right totally best to try and not read into things. I just feel a bit bloated and some light cramp in yesterday but am on 3 progesterone pessaries a day so probably from those!

I tested early last time and in a way I was glad because it sort of let me down gently but at the same time then I drove myself mad thinking oh will it turn positive. I’m going to wait until my test day this time and then at least I will have a definite answer.

Lil89 · 22/08/2024 10:34

Finally managed to catch up with everyone's journey! 🥰 I had my baseline scan on Monday and they have counted 4 on each ovary (I assume this is low because I have a low AMH of 1.6/1.4) 🤔

Started Meriofert injections (PM only) on the same day, and the NHS clinic want to see me back for another Scan for day 6 and another scan for day 10 🙏

Due to start dose (AM) of Cetrorelix injections on Sat too 👏

Hat24 · 22/08/2024 10:38

@GLizzie88 keeping everything crossed for you for the embryo on board!! This process is so brutal, but this could well be the one!

I had a total mare with my first Cetrotide injection this morning. I think I had a false sense of security from how easy the Gonal F was to administer. How are they letting the general public do this stuff 😂?

GLizzie88 · 22/08/2024 11:28

@Hat24 we said exactly the same thing 😂we were worried about those too, I was on the same obviously!

Daniki · 22/08/2024 11:51

@GLizzie88 aw I'm so sorry about the other one but don't panic about the one you have now, they wouldn't have transferred it if wasn't viable I assume? It only takes one 🙏🤞🏻

Finally heard back, I have 6 embryos, 5 frozen on day 5 and one on day 6. Now to have a look at the grading of them as I haven't a clue!

BakinABaby · 22/08/2024 12:22

I'm personally gonna test early, because whether I do or do not, my mind is going to be preoccupied with it anyway, might as well be in the loop you know.

Had my last shot before EC tomorrow. Ganirelix. Honestly, compared to the gonal-f, ovaleap and ovitrelle pens, the ganirelix needle feels like shoving a rusty fork in. Glad it's done 😅

camelinastorm · 22/08/2024 13:03

@Daniki wow 6 that's great news from the 9 fertilised such a high rate well done

@GLizzie88 sorry you had none to freeze, but you have one on board so that great news xx

Haha not a nice feeling I'm sure 😂 I'd be the same, I'm a serial tester! The urge just gets too much 🙈

BakinABaby · 23/08/2024 11:17

Had my punctuation this morning, went well enough. They got 8 eggs out of 11 follicles. 2 less than last time, but last time only 6 were mature, so hoping similar or better this time. I won't hear how they're doing until transfer next Wednesday. I'm on daily injections of Lubion and Clexane, and Amelgen (progesterone) pessarie in the evening starting tomorrow. The Lubion specially was quite expensive 😬. Last time I was on Crinone gel only. But since I have not had a bfp in 2.5 years, I'll pay anything if it helps them stick. Here's to hoping I don't get a "they all failed" call before Wednesday and I get to transfer.

How's everyone else? Anyone in the tww test lately?

GLizzie88 · 23/08/2024 12:24

That's good news @BakinABaby , how are you feeling? I'm 2dp and have been round in circles since yesterday's news. Just trying to stay positive and distracted. One more week to wait!

Zeeha · 23/08/2024 13:09

Fingers crossed for you @BakinABaby

I'm 2dp5dt and started feeling sore low on my belly late this morning, with the odd twinge or maybe like a little bubbling feeling. It's weird and hard to describe. I was perfectly normal before then. Has anyone else had any symptoms? Both times I've been pregnant before I didn't have any signs until about 6 weeks.

Oh my gosh yes the lubion adds up! I think I paid over £85 for a box of seven vials. They've prescribed three boxes so far. So much more expensive than the pessaries, however after having a miscarriage before I will do whatever they advise.

GLizzie88 · 23/08/2024 13:52

@Zeeha I've felt very similar today, with a sore lower back the last 2 days. I have no idea what to look for. It's very nerve wracking.

BakinABaby · 23/08/2024 14:20

@Zeeha I know right. Mine was 61€ a box but the three boxes + clexane and amelgen were like 20% of my monthly income (not in UK) and that’s not even for a whole month. I’ll come out the other end eating pasta for months. Next month luckily it should be -50% if I still need it then.

I’m feeling ok atm, but last time it got significantly worse in the evenings. I’ll take it a little slower this time and see, it’s the weekend anyway. Fingers crossed for you both @GLizzie88 and @Zeeha .

Zeeha · 24/08/2024 12:12

I've just been to the loo and I'm spotting a small amount of bright red blood. Never ever had that before! 3dp5dt today. Hopefully that's a good sign of maybe implantation having happened? 🤔

Capybara95 · 24/08/2024 14:10

@Zeeha sounds like the right timing for implantation blood. Hopefully that’s a good sign! 🤞🏼

Capybara95 · 24/08/2024 17:43

I feel so so full and bloated today. It’s so frustrating that all the symptoms that could be positive are the same as the ones that could just be from the meds!

over30sclub · 24/08/2024 18:43

@Zeeha sounds like it could definitely be implantation Got my fingers crossed for you x

@Capybara95 hope you’re feeling okay! I’ve gone from bloating and cramping to period pain style cramps and a bubbling sensation now. But as you say, I’ve had side effects from the meds for a week or so anyway so who knows if it’s that or successful implantation. trying and failing to keep my mind on anything else x

@GLizzie88 @Trying4eva hope you’re both doing alright over this long weekend too! x

Capybara95 · 24/08/2024 19:26

@over30sclub i was doing ok not thinking about it until today but think I’ve hit the wall now where I just need to know! Hope everyone else is feeling ok!

wishfulbean · 26/08/2024 05:51

Hi all, hoping to join the group please ☺️.

I'm on day 9 of stims and going for a scan today to see what's happening. This is my second round this year. I have low AMH and whilst I manage to have 3 eggs collected last round only one made it to transfer but that was too poor to be graded and didn't make it. Had a miracle natural conception the following month (first time ever!) but turned out to be chemical.

I'm freaking out a bit about my scan today and so worried I won't have enough to collect. I also had a dream that I ovulated early which isn't helping my anxiety (cheers brain!)

Any moral support appreciated! I hope you are all well, I'll do my best try and catch up with where everyone is as I've held off Mumsnet until now!

Trying4eva · 26/08/2024 06:39

Just a quick update. 7dpt5dt today and we caved and tested. A definite line although a bit faint. Still in the game.

any advice on how to now stop worrying about whether the line is actually on its way out or it’s too faint?

going to not test until OTD… which is Thursday.

GLizzie88 · 26/08/2024 07:11

Hi all, I feel exactly the same. I've had cramps and sore boobs the last 5 days and both are getting stronger, but I've read that both of these could just be the progesterone too!!

GLizzie88 · 26/08/2024 07:12

Hi @wishfulbean I'm so sorry to hear about your journey so far. Wishing you all the luck for today!
@Trying4eva keeping everything crossed for you!! I'm only 5dpt still and trying to wait!
