IVF / ICSI August

I’ve looked for a thread for August but couldn’t find one? (Please feel free to correct me if I’m wrong)
We are starting a long protocol at the beginning of July ready for stims and EC in August. This is our first IVF, I’ve been infertile for 15 years due to complications during endo surgery so always knew IVF was my only option. I met my DH seven years ago and now we are ready to try our luck.

I suddenly feel quite anxious about the whole process although I’ve known it’s my only option for a long time, now I've finally actually looked into what's involved and people's experiences. I’ve had to loose 5st to get my bmi inside requirements which has been incredibly hard but I’m proud I got to this point.

I've got quite a complicated gynea history so preparing myself for a rocky ride, but I’m also thankful for my medical history because I’m already very used to those awful internal scans 🤣

I feel like I keep missing lots of posts, hope everyone is doing well after ECs and embryos are growing nicely.
Had our embryo transfer today, day 5 grade 4AA blast with 3 more that were good enough to freeze really pleased with that result considering we had 6 fertilised.

I don’t know if it was just me but the transfer wasn’t as pain free as I’d have liked, it felt quite brutal so I’m a bit disappointed as had it in my head it would be a lovely experience. Very naive I know! Also anyone on your first time, drink loads more water than you think you need! I thought I had a full bladder, turns out I didn’t and they needed to fill it up for me with a catheter which definitely didn’t help. Onto the TWW 😊

got my fingers and toes crossed for everyone no matter what stage you’re at, it’s such an emotionally exhausting process x

@GLizzie88 that's so nice they let you know, my clinic don't look at all until day 5 which is tomorrow and I have to decide if I freeze all or risk and transfer to a irregular lining

I was exactly the same! I barely felt like I'd had anything. I felt tender for the rest of the day and got some co-codamol, but the following day I felt fine.

@Tiz90 that's great numbers! Relax and take it easy for a few days now. I was the same I was quite sore over the weekend but feeling ok today. I was taking co codamol over the weekend it defo helped!

@camelinastorm did you decide on what you're going to do yet? When do they need to know?

@LimeBird oh I'm sorry it's negative, it's such cruel journey. 😣

@Daniki I can choose tomorrow, so we have gone with if we get more than 6 weeks will do a transfer tomorrow if less than 6 weeks are freezing in 2 vials as the transfer 2 or 3 here as standard

@Tiz90 I was in a lot of pain for literally 24 hours the next day it was totally gone it was bizarre

We have been told we have 4 blastocysts we at 2@ 5AA and 2@ 4AA we have decided to freeze them in batches of 2 we didn't want to risk putting 2 in with my irregular lining sad we are having to wait but it will increase the already low chances

@Tiz90 hope you’re feeling better today! Sorry that you remembered the whole procedure too seems too harsh to be awake 😔 i was just feeling so heavy in my ovaries the days following

@camelinastorm those are some really great quality blasts it’s frustrating having to wait but hopefully will all be worth it when you do the FET.

@camelinastorm that is great news on your embryos. It must be so frustrating to have to wait. I'm struggling with the wait just to find out day 5 and for my test.

@camelinastorm that's annoying to have to wait when you're set for a fresh but as you say you're giving yourself a much better chance 🤞🏻❤️

@over30sclub oh glad that's helped! I'm getting on good I'm feeling fine now but that wait is getting me to me 😂 find out Thursday what we end up and really panicking we'll have none 🙈

@Tiz90 they're great numbers! You don't need loads. I only started with 7 so I was going into the next few days very nervous. I had 4 on day 3, so I'm keeping everything crossed for news in the morning.

@Daniki glad you’re feeling a bit better - all the waiting around is horrible isn’t it - I’ve my fingers crossed for you for Thursday hopefully the week flies by.
@GLizzie88 feeling okay thanks still really heavy in my stomach and some cramping - 1dpt and I’m already filling my Amazon basket with pregnancy tests and calculating when would be ‘too soon’ to do one 😂
Got a call today to say our other 3 that were frozen were 4CB and 5BB so not as good as the quality as this one so I’m really hoping this sticks. How are you getting on, are you booked in for transfer? x

is anyone doing acupuncture? I did some while I was TTC naturally but haven’t during the cycle. Wonder if it’s too late to start now or not worth it..

I honestly can't tell you how much this group is helping me feel so normal & not alone in this process.
@over30sclub I'm sure I'll be the same!! My embryos are on day 4 so I transfer tomorrow. Glad you're feeling ok. Will be wfh in the afternoon then it's a plan of pasta and films in the evening.

I haven't had acupuncture, I wanted to but the process suddenly went much quicker than I expected!

@Sineadttc how are you getting on? 5dpt is super early so you’re definitely not out hope you’re feeling ok x

Unfortunately it was a BFN for us. Tested this morning which is 8dp5dt. Just hope AF comes soon now!

@GLizzie88 i know what you mean it’s nice to read how everyone’s getting on and ask questions as I don’t really have anyone in real life to speak to about all this stuff!

@GLizzie88 not long to wait now to hear how they progress! Wish I had some update midway as we're day 3 today! Also feel the same about this group I have no one else to talk to in real life so it's so great!

@over30sclub haha I am same bulk buying tests and I haven't even done the transfer yet!

Another one of my good friends announced her pregnancy yest, so that's 3 of my close friends all pregnant atm it's very hard! Bless her tho she rang me before telling anyone else and I'm so happy for her cuz she had a horrible experience at her 12 scan in jan to find out she had a MMC

Sending hugs to all who's transfers have failed, this is such a grueling process, with all the technology and things you would think the success would be higher

@over30sclub I'm in the same boat, even my family don't know what I am going through as they 'dont believe' in it, they are like of it's ment to be it will just happen, they all have had successful natural pregnancies and just don't understand
