BFP after IVF - anyone want to join me in the wait for first scan?

Hi everyone,
I’ve just had our first cycle of IVF and although we had very slim odds of it working (low AMH, low AFC, male factor, which led to only 2 mature eggs which thankfully led to one perfect day 5 blast). We are absolutely amazed and over the moon that it worked despite everything, but I am really struggling with the wait for first scan. I almost feel with infertility (we TTC for 6/7 years) that it does make you anxious and I’m finding the wait to my first scan (6th June) unbearable. I don’t want to seem ungrateful but I really wish I could enjoy it or relax a little but instead I am worrying about miscarriage and things I can’t control. For me this has been the worst bit of IVF so far, and I’d love to just be able to be happy so I don’t look back (if it does work) and wish that I hadn’t been so anxious and scared.

Is anyone else in the same boat who wants to keep me company? 🥹 Or can provide some tips on how to distract myself and cope better? I know there’s nothing I can do to change the outcome and what will be will be, but I don’t think I’ve ever worried so much in my life.

Thank you @DogMummy87 Im honestly so so so shocked. But over the moon, and just so incredibly relieved that she’s healthy in terms of all the chromosomal things.

@HopefulllHolly the Chinese predictor tool says boy. Oh wait! 2 different ones say 2 different things Lol Which one did you all use?

We’re fine either way I think. We’re just happy to have a baby so fingers crossed this little embryo hangs in there. More nausea today which can only be a good sign.

What a big relief that is. I honestly feel that if I can get to that stage where my NIPT comes back okay then I think I’ll start to believe it’s all real. Mine is only 10 days away now 🤞

So if this ramzi thing has 100% success rate in this thread (haha!) then can you help tell me what we’re having from my scan a week ago? Or maybe that was too early!

@AnnieStar12 I don’t think I realised how worried I was about it but I’ve not stopped crying since I got the results. I’m just so relieved it’s healthy. 10 days away isn’t long at all. This week is flying by already! Where are you getting yours done? Mine was window to the womb who use Concepto. Had them done Thursday, the testing place received them Saturday afternoon and got the results today which is super speedy! And I had 7% dna in there which I was surprised at as I was bang on 10 weeks.
Definitely feels more real - feels insane there’s a little girl in there. I’ve been talking to her tonight 🥹🥹

@HopefulllHolly yeah I think this is a big hurdle to pass as you’re out of the main danger zone and can go to your 12 week scan pretty confident things will be okay. I think I mentioned before that back in April when I just felt sooo hopeless and didn’t want to go ahead with this ivf cycle, we sat down and wrote a step-by-step check list to break down every stage. It has almost 20 stages on it starting with taking my first dose of nafarelin (mad that was nearly three months ago now!) and ending with getting the all-clear at the nipt and 12 week scan, We've been crossing off each stage when we pass it, and only have two stages left now!! I'll be over the moon if we get to tick of that final stage later this month.

Oooh, a girl you think! Very keen to see if it's true for me too. I'd be very happy with another girl, and I know that's my OH's preference. But I've been really imagining that it's a boy for some reason. We would be happy either way of course, but it would take a little adjusting to the idea of expecting a boy.

@AnnieStar12 Thats amazing you only have 2 steps left. You’ve got this! That makes me feel really emotional for you. Almost there 🥹 It feels so surreal even thinking back to the times of first injections now. And all that fear of just having one embryo and no eggs. What a journey!

Awww well I hope you get your wish! A little boy would be equally lovely though, I certainly have only ever imagined having a boy so it’s crazy to me that there’s always been a little girl in there. I actually had a dream the other night of breast feeding and it was a girl, but until then it had always been boys. Weird!

I can’t wait to tell my other half, hes always just wanted a healthy baby but he’s slipped up a few times saying he’d love a girl, so i just know he’s going to cry his eyes out. Hurry up Saturday!

Hi all! Quick update that things couldn't have been better at our 7 week scan. Lovely little heartbeat and measuring perfectly she said. So that is me discharged to my GP now (feels so abrupt 😆) and to finish off the pessaries I have so will drop to 1 a day I think.
I cried and feel so relieved and maybe like I can actually be excited now? 🤞🏻🙏🏻💕

Hi everyone, I think I want to tentatively join....

Got my easily visible BFP today at 6dp5dt with our little 5AA! OTD isn't until Monday.

Back story. We have a 3yo already, but 3 ectopics since then and both tubes removed. Been trying 18 months now. This was our first cycle and first transfer, so I really can't wrap my head around it.

Estimated due dates would put me at 15th March.

I'll try and catch up on the thread as best I can, but congratulations to everyone else and so lovely to see little scan photos!

@DogMummy87 fantastic news! You must be over the moon. And you can start your antenatal care now! That makes it feel a bit more real I bet

@lemonyfox huge congratulations! Hope this one sticks for the long term and with a 5AA, I believe it has quite the big fat chance!

Welcome @lemonyfox I think I’ve seen you on a thread somewhere! Big congratulations to you! I was first cycle and first transfer too - I don’t know how we got so lucky but I thank my lucky stars every day. How are you feeling? Hope you’re feeling great so far!
We’ve got ladies at all different stages here so you’ll always have someone who’s either been through it or going through it too. This groups been such a massive support for me - I feel very lucky to have everyone (especially when I’m anxious or upset, they have all talked me back down!)🥰

Holly I think we were on the April IVF thread together maybe? I had my egg collection in April and a freeze all.

Feeling good! No symptoms really other than the cramps and sore boobs that started when I started the pessaries and that was before I'd even transferred, so I can't even say it's down to early pregnancy.

So nervous for the next 2-3 weeks though, good grief 😭

Yeah that was it!! Good memory @lemonyfox ! I’m so pleased for you that it worked! It comes as a bit of a shock when you don’t really ever expect it to work first time doesn’t it. Glad you’re feeling good! I won’t lie the next few weeks I found the hardest bit of the whole journey - but you’re in good company. If you have a wobble we can help ☺️

Im good! 11 weeks tomorrow and just found out late last night from our private blood screening that there aren’t any chromosomal issues (massive relief!) and we’re having a little girl. 🥹🥹🥹 Haven’t slept a wink last night from being so happy and for the first time this whole journey I feel excited. Still terrified of all the possible things that could go wrong the next 6 months but trying my very hardest to lean in to the happiness after years of wanting to have a family of our own! So today I am buzzing with happiness and I’ll take that 😊😊

Yeah a NIPT @lemonyfox so pleased we got it done. Massive relief knowing everything’s ok and we don’t have to wait longer! ☺️

@HopefulllHolly once I found out last time I was having a girl I found it impossible to do any supermarket shopping without checking out all the cute little outfits! It’s so hard to resist going mad!

5sleeps to go till my 12 week scan and time is slowing down, I’m starting to feel the anxiety building and wish I’d done nipt now 🙈
