FET June 2024

Hi,

Is anyone else planning on a FET in June? ☺️

I had my second cycle of ICSI in April and now have 8 frozen embryos.

I didn’t have a fresh transfer in April as there was some fluid left in my endometrium from ivf medication. I thought it best to wait till June so by then my body will be fully recovered.

🤞

@Always28 Amazing lines! Congratulations 🥳. I also felt quite detached from it and like I was looking at someone else's test! I've had my beta this week at 1208 and even that doesn't feel real, so I get what you're feeling!

@Sierra26 Good luck for the wait! Hope you're feeling ok and the time passes quickly for you 🥰

@amkw I only made it 4dp5dt 😂 though my OTD was 12dpt. I'd say by 7/8 you'd have a realistic result.

Hollielouise · 10/07/2024 07:55

Can I ask when anyone has had their first scan? Mine is booked for 6+6 but not sure if that is too early.. and then I'll worry if they can't see anything! 🤦🏼‍♀️

I had mine at 6+6 and could see everything and the heartbeat 💓 good luck!

hja62 · 10/07/2024 08:27

@Hollielouise mine is booked for tomorrow, I'll be exactly 7 weeks 🤞🏻

lemonyfox · 10/07/2024 08:56

Hi everyone, reached my (second) OTD today 13dp5dt and we're still going strong!

@Hollielouise I think between 6-7 weeks is the target window for the viability scan as the heartbeat will be visible then 😊 what date will your scan be?

4dp? Haha! I don’t have the nerves for that. I’m 7dp5dt now and I couldn’t even today. I will at least wait till 9dp5dt.

Does anyone know if progesterone delays periods? I’m having period like cramps. Sob.

OP posts:
Always28 · 10/07/2024 13:27

I’ve had period type cramps and I’m pregnant now. On my failed cycle I didn’t have any cramps at all. If you google early pregnancy symptoms, cramps always come up, so it I really can’t tell you anything either way. Try not to worry.

I tested super early but that was because I had the logic that if it was really early and negative, I would still be hopeful but also be able to prepare myself a bit in case it wasn’t successful. But I really think waiting is fine too. Just do whatever feels right to you.

Sierra26 · 10/07/2024 15:14

@amkw when I took progesterone in previous (ovulation induction) cycles I didn’t get my period until 3 days after I stopped taking it. I had the impression the lining wouldn’t start the shedding (and therefore cramping) process while progesterone is still high…

amkw · 10/07/2024 17:37

I guess you really don’t know until you test do you! My gut is telling me nothing either. Genuinely don’t know how this will pan out.

How are you feeling @Sierra26

OP posts:
Sierra26 · 10/07/2024 22:26

Good thanks @amkw . Will be on the lookout for symptoms in another few days 👀

Although a friend told me today she’s 12 weeks pregnant. I was expecting it soon, but after doing some quick maths (which I know I shouldn’t do) she must have actually got pregnant and reached 12 weeks in the time it’s taken me to go from egg collection to FET.

i know it’s not healthy to compare like this, but it’s so so unfair and I just think… why not me? It’s scary how the weeks become months and then longer… :(

Sierra26 · 11/07/2024 08:20

Hi everyone… I’ve had some spotting today and last night. The doc said I bled a litttle when going through my cervix so last night I assumed it was leftover from that.

But this morning it’s a tiny bit stringy/clotty and now I’m terrified that somehow my period is starting (despite saying earlier I didn’t think that could happen when progesterone is high).

Has anyone else had that this early? I’m now only 2dp5dt so too early for IB(?) and I don’t think that would look like this.

I’ve always had luteal phase spotting and I’m so scared the timing of the transfer wasn’t right :(

don’t want to call my clinic as they’ll just say wait.

amkw · 11/07/2024 08:25

@Sierra26 I’m sorry this is an extra worry on top of everything else! Surely it’s not your period, does you period usually start like that? On my second transfer about 2 days after I got some fleshy mauve coloured discharge and to this day I don’t know what it was - but it wasn’t my period and I don’t think it was IB either. I think things can just shift in your body due to hormones and the procedure. X

Also, absolute nightmare when your friends get pregnant around you. Doesn’t get any easier does it!? That’s why I’ve came off social media and I’ve muted the group WhatsApp chat so I don’t have to constantly hear about them talking about mum things.

OP posts:
lemonyfox · 11/07/2024 10:38

@Sierra26 it does sound like it's just bleeding from your cervix being opened, especially if the doc said it was bleeding when he was rootling around up there. From what I understand, the progesterone will be preventing a proper bleed from starting anyway.

I think it's still worth logging it with your clinic for their advice anyway though, just so they're aware.

Keeping everything crossed for you 🤞🏻

Sierra26 · 11/07/2024 11:45

Thanks @lemonyfox @amkw I really appreciate the reassurance!

omg ”fleshy mauve” is bang on 😂👌🏻 could not have described it better myself.

I started spiralling about maybe my progesterone being too low as they wouldn’t give me lubion, just the pessaries, but my boobs are so swollen there’s no way my levels aren’t high right now.

lemonyfox · 11/07/2024 11:56

@Sierra26 how come they said no to lubion? It's weird how clinics all vary so much

Sierra26 · 11/07/2024 12:09

@lemonyfox

Their answer - they don’t think I need it

What I think the answer is - they need to keep costs down for NHS patients. I’ve never even had a progesterone test with them and they’re basing their decisions on bloods from another clinic from Jan 2023 so I’m sceptical.

I haven’t ovulated so don’t have a corpus luteum producing progesterone so fully reliant on the pessaries. Really hoping it’s enough!

lemonyfox · 11/07/2024 12:17

@Sierra26 ah I see, it's a bit shitty of them for doing that though. Surely their success rates are more important than keeping costs down.

I'm private and they don't test progesterone either which I found really unusual!

Natty2 · 11/07/2024 18:16

@Sierra26 how have you got on the rest of the day, any more spotting?

@hja62 how was your first scan today?

@amkw hope you're holding up ok. Not long until otd!

hja62 · 11/07/2024 20:30

@Natty2 all went well at scan today thank god! We saw tiny little bub, in the right position! Measuring 6w5d & 6w6d so 1-2 days behind 7weeks which they have said is totally normal and not at all concerning but of course put a little panic on me because I'm just a permanent ball of anxiety these days 🤣! Heart rate was nice and strong 132bpm which I think is more important 💕 they found a small subchorionic haematoma so have advised me to stop my blood thinners to help that resolve which makes me nervous to stop but I need to trust the doctors 🤞🏻 hopefully it will resolve in a couple of weeks. Next scan in 2 weeks.

@Sierra26 sorry to hear about your spotting. I agree with the others, it's highly unlikely to be your period, it's too soon and the progesterone would be delaying any bleeding. It's likely left over irritation from the transfer which is totally normal.

I also totally hear you about watching friends and family get pregnant around you. It's so heartbreaking. We've been trying for no2 since October 2022 - in that time we've gone through hell, yet two of my best friends got pregnant, carried to term, and both delivered beautiful baby boys. I never struggled too much with pregnancy announcements personally, but I really struggle when friends & family have their beautiful babies in their arms. It's a harsh reminder of all the time that has passed and I still wasn't pregnant. You just have to do whatever you need to to protect yourself and your delicate heart 💕 most will understand, especially if they know what you are going through x

amkw · 12/07/2024 13:54

@hja62 So glad that your scan went well and their little heartbeat is nice and strong - it must be such a reassurance!

I’m 9dp5dt and I will be testing tomorrow. 🍀❤️🙏🙏😬🤞

Always28 · 12/07/2024 17:57

@hja62 thats great your scan went well ❤️. I’m sure stopping the thinners is absolutely fine and the right thing to do.

@amkw good luck for testing tomorrow. Hope you manage to sleep!

Hope everyone else has had a good day.

I’ve been feeling sick today since waking up, which is weirdly quite nice and reassuring 🤣.

amkw · 12/07/2024 19:42

I’m worrying now as I kind of haven’t stopped stressing. If I get a BFN do you think stress could have caused it? I’ve been extremely anxious. I suffer with OCD and I’ve been really bad with it after transfer.

OP posts:
lemonyfox · 12/07/2024 20:05

@amkw good luck for tomorrow 🤞🏻

And no I don't think so, but I'm sure everyone on this thread can agree it's easier said than done to stop overly worrying ❤️

Always28 · 12/07/2024 20:31

@amkw dont worry, it’s so natural to feel anxious and stressed, and I have felt the same the whole way through. There’s far too much riding on it, and far too much that you go through to feel any differently. I truly don’t believe that stressing or worrying affects the outcome in any way. I also did some reading and there is no evidence to suggest stress affects the outcome.
