Hi, couldn't see a thread for June yet so thought I would start one.

I'm on long protocol so actually starting down regulation on 28th May, egg collection not scheduled in until 8th July.

I am on NHS and this will be my first round. Was referred less than a year ago now and have managed to loose 2 and a half stone to get my BMI down.

Anyone else due to start around June?

Normally sedation isn’t needed for egg transfer however I’ve been told after my catheter test that they couldn’t finish because it became that uncomfortable that i would likely become sedated for it. The reason being is that they will have to use a technique to open up my cervix as there’s scarring. The catheter test is done as a sort of practise run before the egg retrieval/transfer if you have had lletz procedure for cancerous cells as they like to make sure that they can get through without wasting the embryo if that makes sense? Obviously cases will be unique to individuals and it’s only because I’ve had two lletz procedures in my 20s. I said to the nurse that I wished I’d never done these procedures now but she basically told me off and said that precancerous cells at grades 2/3 should be removed and not to think that anything done in the past has put me in the position I’m in now.

That’s what I’m finding about this whole process. There’s no one size fits all. There’s so many variables.

@Snowdrop131 i hope it’s worked for you. Keep yourself rested as much as possible.
@Toon49 awww no!!!! That’s so rubbish! What a time to get covid.
@FlutteryButtery2 Good luck!!

@SlinkMcSlink ah that makes sense now. Sorry missed the part u had scarring but def better having them procedures than not!!
It is amazing that everybody's treatment is slightly different but hopefully with all the same outcomes 🤞

@FlutteryButtery2 Good luck!!

Just think things could be alot worse if you hadn't had Letz procedure in the past so you definitely have done the right thing. On the positive side although it's more complicated you can still get the embryo transfer done safely too so it's not prevented your chances!

Hey @Rebekah77 sorry to hear you’ve not made it to stims yet despite multiple attempts. How come you didn’t make it before if you don’t mind me asking? Great you’re starting Thursday!! Sounds like you’ll line up with some of us here to start stims.

@FlutteryButtery2 hoping those 2 little ‘uns are at blasts now and ready for a chilly time ahead!

@SlinkMcSlink sounds like they have a good plan for transfer though so that’s good! How did they find out they needed to do a mock transfer? Or do they do that for everyone? I’ve had the LLETZ procedure 18 months ago and I was told had I not had it, it could be cancer in a year so I guess we have to be grateful that we are okay. Makes it a bit of a tougher transfer for you granted, but they gave a plan which is the main thing 🥰

@Snowdrop131 don’t blame you testing early. I wouldn’t test any earlier than 11 days based on my clinics guidelines. I see some start testing at day 4/5. Everyone has their prerogative but that’s not for me. Think it would heighten the anxiety! Do you have many plans to distract yourself over the next 10 days?

@Toon49 oh no!!! That’s such bad timing. Hopefully the clinic will get back to you tomorrow quickly and devise a plan. Hopefully it’s to continue as he’s not needed for another 2 weeks so fingers crossed.

Rebekah77 · 03/06/2024 21:55

Hey hey

@GCS34

few times the pain was too bad to continue lovely endo

Once was 0.5lb over

northeristorone didn’t bleed

provera first time too much pain

provera last time my period came as I began so no bleed when came off

I don’t have much luck lol 😂 hopefully starving for scales and timing is on my side this time !

FlutteryButtery2 · 03/06/2024 22:25

Feel your pain @Rebekah77 Ive always struggled with my weight (pcos and endo), fingers are crossed for you

@Snowdrop131 howre you feeling this evening?

@Toon49 hopefully it’s over quickly for you both and you can get back on track - hopefully they’ll let you start

@SlinkMcSlink thank goodness they did a mock run so they can better prepare for the real thing!

SamVan · 03/06/2024 22:31

@GCS34 @Snowdrop131 sorry I should have explained, I need sedation for my fresh transfer so it can’t be on a weekend. For most people who don’t need sedation it can be whenever! So it’s very much an issue only because of my specific circumstances.

@SlinkMcSlink we haven’t told our family either. I just want to keep it private as everyone has opinions/pity/likely to say insensitive things unintentionally. As for work maybe tell them you’ve had a tooth ache . That’ll cover lots of appointments - check ups, root canal, appointment to fit the crown etc. or that you’ve got a medical issue which will need some check ups and a minor procedure.

I hope all of us get to start this month on time! I’m trying one last time naturally this week and sitting with my legs in the air as I type this 😂

Rebekah77 · 03/06/2024 22:40

Thank you @FlutteryButtery2

just hope I can get through the agony of provera for ten days fingers crossed

very very sick of the sex ban at this point 😅

Oh bless you @Rebekah77 sounds like you’ve had a rough few attempts. It’s so unfair that weight (even down to a measly 1lb) can hinder you having a family, yet in the ‘real world’, you can be overweight, drink and eat what you wish, and not be judged for doing so, so it’s really tough you have to have those challenges to face when paying for it! I really hope this is your one! We’re routing for you.

@FlutteryButtery2 ahhh a fellow pcos’er. The joys hey! Mines particularly bad - not had a period naturally for over 2 years - so i struggle when it comes to transfers and getting my lining thick enough. Most I’ve ever got to is 7.5mm and that was after 3 weeks of drugs. Does anyone else have lining issues here?
and how are you feeling tonight? Your embaby is in the best place and for what it’s worth, my friends baby to be (due ina few weeks) is a day 6 blast, wasn’t there on day 5, and was frozen on day6, so hopefully that gives you hope. And theirs no difference success wise between a day 5 and a day 6.

so much hope for you and @Snowdrop131 xx

Snowdrop131 · 04/06/2024 08:45

@Rebekah77 ah it's so tough hopefully this time will work out for you!!

@FlutteryButtery2 I'm off work for few days but feeling tired so guessing the progesterone is cause of that. I'm trying not think too much about what may or not be going on inside lol
Let's hope ur other 2 have made it to freezing 🤞

Rebekah77 · 04/06/2024 08:47

Thanks @Snowdrop131 so ready to get this round done an in so much pain with my endo being off everything . Then provera flares everything up even more

So sorry to hear that it's heartbreaking when there's nothing to transfer we were the same on our last round! Try to do something nice or go away for a few days that's what we did to try to help take our minds off it a little (although we mostly talked about it but it was constructive rather than upsetting in the end!)

Our cycle has been cancelled due to my husbands COVID, it's been moved to July, there is concern it could effect his sperm for 3-6 months potentially but since his was initially good they don't think it'll cause a problem so fingers crossed. Means more hormones for me as I was on the long protocol so started downregulation weeks ago annoyingly!

Onthedouble123 · 04/06/2024 14:50

Good luck @Snowdrop131 and @FlutteryButtery2 keeping my fingers crossed things are burrowing in nicely in there! I'm sorry your others didn't make it @FlutteryButtery2 but hopefully the one inside is a fighter!

I've not been sent a treatment plan yet but I've had my invoices so have attached a list of the medication.
This is our first time so I haven't a clue. Any wisdom.from anyone on a similar combination? Xx

@Toon49 So sorry your cycle had to be cancelled cuz of the COVID diagnosis. That's so sad. Do you have an estimated date to start the down regulation drugs again? I bet he feels so rotten doesn't he - not only rough but feeling the guilt i'm sure too. Sending hugs.

@Onthedouble123 Hey! So from what I know, menopur is your stimulation drug, Fyremadel is your anti ovulation drug, and ovitrelle is your trigger shot. Utorgeston is progesterone for transfer

Onthedouble123 · 04/06/2024 15:50

@Toon49 sorry you've been delayed 😩. I had no idea COVID would even impact things nowadays! We don't even have any tests anymore. Perhaps should buy some.

@GCS34 thank you! Just plodding blindly on at this point. Wobbling along the right rope of whether to Google to be armed with a bit of information or whether I'll just imagine every side effect going if I read too much!

They've said egg collection week of 15th July and are going to send me a treatment plan so hopefully not too long just frustrating when I've taken everything for the last few weeks! We only had a COVID test as had bought some for my grandad when he was ill had read COVID could effect IVF so thought we better check! What a pain I bet plenty of people have it and don't know these days since they've stopped giving out the free tests and still get pregnant/go through IVF so hoping it won't make too much difference next round!

SlinkMcSlink · 04/06/2024 16:03

@FlutteryButtery2 I’m so sorry to hear your news. Sending virtual hugs. Also, to @Toon49 . There’s nothing to say that will make it feel better but I’m sad for you. Xxx

@Onthedouble123 all too easy to go down a dr google hole! I'm a terror for it, so i'm promising myself that between now and starting meds, I'm not going to google anything... famous last words!! I'm going to be starting stims 1st July, will anyone be with me?
