Hi, couldn't see a thread for June yet so thought I would start one.

I'm on long protocol so actually starting down regulation on 28th May, egg collection not scheduled in until 8th July.

I am on NHS and this will be my first round. Was referred less than a year ago now and have managed to loose 2 and a half stone to get my BMI down.

Anyone else due to start around June?

Second @GCS34 were going through access fertility Aswell - there are a few options including a refund programme
It feels awful regulating it on money doesn’t it but have to be practical. No point bankrupting yourself

@GwenH82 what has your doctor said about follicles vs eggs? I had 27 follicles over two ovaries but they got one from one and four from the other - I had to have another injection to stop egg maturation after EC
Im wondering if they gave me the wrong trigger shot - they changed it on my last scan to a slower acting one
Not sure why, maybe I was at risk of OHSS if I’d had a quicker acting trigger

@FlutteryButtery2 @GwenH82 its so sad that it does boil down to money at the end and it’s really hard to feel defeated by it. I did last week and it just adds another layer to the emotional side of it. But yeah access are worth looking at if you haven’t already.

@FlutteryButtery2 what trigger did you have? They switched mine 2 days before to burselin rather than ovitrelle HcG due to the risk of ohss but meant I had to have a freeze all. Was that the same?

@GwenH82 its so hard isn’t it, you swing from excited to awful in a matter of moments. Not sure if it’s your bag or not, but acupuncture is shown to help success and it also helps you relax too and have some moments of calm?

@Toon49 sorry your first round was so disappointing for you. It’s so bad you were literally there excited to transfer and they told you then. You’d almost wished they rang I’m sure. Hopefully the change in protocol will help this time. What meds have they given for stims?

FlutteryButtery2 · 30/05/2024 19:54

@GCS34 exactly the same was meant to have ovitrelle but they gave me buserilin on Saturday - trigger was Monday

Thank you! I have had IM Decapeptyl at the clinic last week which apparently covers me for down regulation then starting meriofert on Wednesday, apparently the clinic have said can help procedure better quality eggs compared to the bemfola I was on previously but we shall see!
Good luck to everyone all the waiting and disappointment can be so draining and difficult!

CakePigeon30 · 30/05/2024 20:35

@Toon49 I will be on meriofert too. Are you in north east? (just going off name, might be totally wrong lol)

I am, we are at London womens clinic in Darlington! Got our medication delivery yesterday and all alot more complex than the simple bemfola haha

@Toon49 ive heard a lot about meriofert for quality. My nurse mentioned it to me on the phone last week when I called with our results so I will discuss when I’m in my consultation on Tuesday. I think it’s similar to menopur from what she said, but yeah I’m hoping I’ll be on it too.
if its the same as Menopur, then is it a vial with a little tablet powder thing you have to mix together?

I really hope you get some good results and you get to transfer this time! 🤞

@FlutteryButtery2 yeah that was the same. Will you have to have a freeze all then? They said I couldn’t do a fresh with buresellin?

FlutteryButtery2 · 30/05/2024 22:53

@GCS34 no they said I can do a fresh on Monday and if the other two are ok they’ll freeze them

Wonder why they said that to you? Did you have OHSS?

@FlutteryButtery2 oh that’s good then. They said it breaks down the lining but I’m not sure if that’s because I was perhaps on a bigger dose because of my follicle numbers.

I didn’t get ohss, no, but they thought I would as I had 50+ follicles and 40 eggs. So they wouldn’t let me do a fresh. But I was actually totally fine. Definitely a case of quantity over quality for me as 5 x embryos and no baby is apparently not normal!
seems whatever end of the spectrum you are theirs complications!

Onthedouble123 · 31/05/2024 00:04

Please can I join you all? Very new to this. First appointment today and left with a plan for a July cycle.
I'm also at Darlington London Women's @Toon49!
I'm to start norethisterone around 20th June. Still waiting for my full treatment plan to come through tomorrow. A lot went over my head so hoping to learn from some of you who have more knowledge than I do!
Good luck to everyone. Xx

Yes meriofert is a powder and solvent you mix then draw up what you need! Will let you know if I get better results!

Thats great the clinic are very responsive I usually message on the salve app if any questions and usually get an answer same day! Be interesting to see what your treatment plan is compared to mine!

FlutteryButtery2 · 31/05/2024 07:56

@GCS34 that's interesting
They sent me home with other drugs that weren’t planned so I wonder if that’s why
I have to do cyclogest pessaries x 2 a day, ellest pills 3 x a day, progesterone gel 1 x a day and antibiotics for 4 days
its a lot but I assume they’re all for lining and sticking 🤞🏻

@FlutteryButtery2 have you had any update from the clinic today on your 3 x embabies?
Yeah all sounds good though - I was on about the same, but patches rather than gell, and 3 x progesterone pessaries per day, not 2 and gel.
Fingers crossed it all helps!!

@Snowdrop131 any update on your trooper?

FlutteryButtery2 · 31/05/2024 18:03

@GCS34 omg embabies is hilarious
No update so I’m assuming that means they’re still doing what they do - should get a phonecall tomorrow to arrange implantation on Monday

my stomach is quite sore - around diaphragm sort of area - is that something you experienced? I will ask them tomorrow but it’s making walking uneasy and nauseous

Snowdrop131 · 31/05/2024 18:19

@GCS34 no word yet they have me scheduled for day5 transfer on Monday and will let me know 2moro what quality the little dude has got to so fingers crossed we get good news 2moro!
Are you planning a frozen transfer or what stage are you at??

@FlutteryButtery2 thats good news! No news is defo good news in this instance. Praying for a good call tomorrow for all 3 🤞 transfer is a really nice day - perfect way to start your week 🥰

i can’t fully remember, but I do recall like bloated feeling and like I had guzzled a tonne of water. Is that how you feel? Think it’s all the fluid from the follicles that is now knocking around. Just keep an eye on it and your breathing etc.

@Snowdrop131 defo no news is good news for you too! 🙌 tough it out little man - you got this 💪 let us know how your call tomorrow goes.

im not on a FET unfortunately. I had my last 2 of 5 embryos transferred start of May and they didn’t work. Found out last week so we’re back to square one again and having to do a fresh round and collection. Consultation Tuesday and hoping to start stims end of month if they’ll let me.

FlutteryButtery2 · 31/05/2024 20:15

@GCS34 it’s my actual stomach - almost like a hungover type always hungry feeling with nausea - ovary area feels pretty much back to normal now, tiny pang at the end of a wee bit nothing major and I don’t really feel bloated
just eating little and often and snoozing a lot which is unheard of for me

Thank you! Hopefully they’ll call reasonably early so we’re not phone watching all day 😬

@Snowdrop131 hope your call goes well

SlinkMcSlink · 01/06/2024 12:33

Hi!

I’m joining for June/July. I start Norethisterone on Wednesday the 5th June. Then have my first baseline scan on Thursday 20th. It’s nice to have others to chat to about this.

@FlutteryButtery2 how are you feeling today? It’s probably all the progesterone. It’s a side effect - hunger so perhaps that? I always eat loads in the Tww 😂 maybe that’s the reason. Have you had a call yet? Fingers crossed you’ve got good news for us! And @Snowdrop131 hope your little one is trooping on.

Snowdrop131 · 01/06/2024 15:34

@GCS34 thankfully our little guy has got to 6+ cells on day 3 so still plan day 5 transfer but they won't know until we arrive at clinic how/if has developed to be suitable for actual transfer🤞
Is such a rollercoaster this is my 2nd full cycle as no frozen. fingers crossed you can start again and it works this time x

FlutteryButtery2 · 01/06/2024 15:43

@GCS34 i dont feel so bad today, I asked the nurse when she called and she said to just keep an eye on symptoms as it could be ohss or it might not be - they’ll scan me on Monday
As we’ve not heard anything we still have 3, and all go for Monday afternoon

Did you use the cyclogest as a pessary or a suppository
I have to use it as a suppository on Monday and am wondering if it might be better to given that I have to do gel vaginally aswell
They said there’s no difference in effectiveness either way

@Snowdrop131 that sounds encouraging - are you having a transfer Monday aswell?

Snowdrop131 · 01/06/2024 15:53

@FlutteryButtery2 yes having transfer mon morn all being well our little one makes it.
I also have been feeling worse after egg retrieval this time than last time lower cramps and esp at night in bed can get some pain but they told me as ur ovaries are so big at min can happen and be mild ohss but if severe swelling sickness pain to let them know.
Fingers crossed we both have successful transfer on mon 🤞

FlutteryButtery2 · 01/06/2024 15:57

@Snowdrop131 I really hope so! I’ve felt pants now since the day before trigger shot but I wonder if that’s because I’ve not taken any form of hormones for 9 years - bound to have some affect

@FlutteryButtery2 glad you’re not feeling as bad. But yeah defo keep an eye on things especially with ohss. I remember feeling just sloshy after but it was last year so I can’t fully remember. Ask me again in hopefully 6 weeks 😂great news they’ve not rang with any changes. Obviously everything is ticking along nicely. Will they call tomorrow with theatre time or do you know what time you’re in already?

well, they told me to do at least one of them rectally as I was doing 3 a day, but I actually found it way easier and less messy. The did it rectally the morning of transfer too. What you finding better? You said you’d not been on hormones for 9 months - what were you on before?

@Snowdrop131 great news on the wee one. Do you know what time you’re in Monday? Are you feeling sick or anything, or is it ovary?

FlutteryButtery2 · 01/06/2024 18:50

@GCS34 9 years of no contraception what so ever
I believe my last contraception was the merina which partially expelled itself - that was an experience.
Just didn’t start anything else as we’d decided that we’d like a baby

I’ve not tried rectally atall so I may try it this evening and see what happens

We go in Monday afternoon for transfer 🤞🏻
