IVF/ICSI June/July

Hi, couldn't see a thread for June yet so thought I would start one.

I'm on long protocol so actually starting down regulation on 28th May, egg collection not scheduled in until 8th July.

I am on NHS and this will be my first round. Was referred less than a year ago now and have managed to loose 2 and a half stone to get my BMI down.

Anyone else due to start around June?

Oh no just realised I haven't been flicking the glass vial to get the excess liquid out of the bit you snap off the top for meriofert.

So what I injected tonight was less liquid than what it was supposed to be because some was still in the glass but I didn't realise till afterwards. Think this is the only time this has happened though. Do you think it matters that I didn't have all the liquid? I used all the Powder? I have a scan on Monday so can check but now worried that I've spoilt my chances!

Thanks for checking in. Unfortunately they said I had two follicles that were too active so they advised against starting so Ill be doing down reg in two and a half weeks now instead. I wasn’t on down reg this time. But also after I realised I wouldn’t be starting the pharmacy called to say two of my meds were out of stock! I’d be so stressed if I had been starting. How are you getting on?

every little twinge makes you think something’s happening lol I’ve definitely had a bit of a heavier feeling today when standing for to long but again could be in my head…

@SP83 i don’t have a lump now just do straight after it has a lump that I just massage in. I’m over thinking it.
me and Mr GCS had a row just as he was about to inject me which was delightful. Oh the trials and tribulations of ivf hey. Makes everyone so on edge.

haha yeah I think I’m just in my head and over thinking everything! How are you after number 3?

@CakePigeon30 from what I understand, the water is just there for mixing and injecting. It’s not actually any medication / contribute. It’s just a transfer media to dissolve the powder to inject. So the medication is the powder. The liquid I wouldn’t worry about. I lost a bit of mine out the top of the injection. It just spurted a bunch out 😟 worried I’ve not had enough either. But mine was mixed! I think the water you’re fine.

Maybe call the clinic on Monday to put your mind at ease? The whole process makes everything so much more heightened for everyone.

feeling a little bit of pain/heaviness today, how are you feeling?

@SP83 I’ll be okay. It is just after the meds go in. I get it with lubion too. Think it’s quite common as I remember the anti ovulation ones being similar and they told me that in the nurses meeting. I’m just being a flapper which is ironic as I was being so calm and chill before now I’m chief of the flaps!!

bit dull achey kinda feeling one side but nothing major. Just trumping 😂😂

@Blossomofhope oh no! I’m sorry honey. How are you feeling? I suppose the fact that you wouldn’t have had all your medication yet makes you think it wasn’t the right time but still hugely frustrating. How big were your follies? The good thing is you can start down regs in 2 weeks tho. Did that happen with your other 2 or were they quite calm on your day 2 scan?

I’m def feeling more sensitive this time round! How are you feeling today? I haven’t been feeling that great today, very achy and tired today.

Solidarity. I feel absolutely crap!!! Very bloated, sore boobs and fed up. Need to be in work straight after my scan tomorrow morning and the days before egg collection. 😫

@SlinkMcSlink @SP83 same here. I feel very tired too and bloated and am accumulating bruises from the feyemadel. Running out of veins for blood tests too after a few missed goes today. So much fluid is leaking out of me it’s like a flood. I change my underwear 5 times a day 😅 good luck to everyone surviving this week!

Has anyone had zivafert as their trigger?

I defo feel pulling down there today and like dull aches and I’m really anxious and emotional - I’m really nervous I’m not going to have responded or I’ll have a dominant follicle. Just really got in my own head today 😔

@GCS34 I’ve got another scan in the morning which will be stims day 12 so I’m hoping they say egg collection is Wednesday or Thursday.

@GCS34 it’s so hard not to be nervous so your feelings are totally understandable. I hope you have your first scan soon to put your mind at rest? Has that been scheduled? What dose are you on this round?

I have follicles ranging from 8mm to 18mm (not sure how it grew from 11 to 18 in two days!) but they don’t seem too worried. Hopefully we get a few which are the right size when I trigger. No idea when that will be, but I’ve been told to reduce my dose again to 62.5. I’m hoping we are on track and finding the lack of communication/discussion quite difficult as I only get calls to tell me what to do but no one has explained the plan.

@SlinkMcSlink I hope you’re feeling better this evening! Your trigger will be really soon which will hopefully put you out of your misery! How are your follicles doing? What size were they waiting for to trigger?

@SlinkMcSlink I'm due to have zivafert but only on day 5 of stims so far. Got a scan tomorrow.

Feeling the bloating today as well as everything else!

Are you office based? I’m working straight through up until egg collection but luckily I work from home.

They were calling out all sorts of numbers on Friday ranging from 7-17 but I don’t know what this means? I was uncomfortable and was just trying to breathe my way through it @SamVan

The nurse mentioned that I was doing well which made me feel positive but I am quite slight so not much room in there anyway.

@SP83 i wish I was office based!!! I’m a primary school teacher with a very hard class. (Behaviour/violence) 3 weeks to go until summer holidays although that doesn’t help right now haha! Got a trip, sports days and a class assembly to get through as well as all the other usual things in school and egg collection. Actually it might be a nice lie down on drugs that space me out…..got to find positives somehow! Are you doing fresh transfer?

Im mostly sure that I’ll probably end up having to have frozen by how uncomfortable I’m feeling before eggs being collected.

@SamVan thank you for that message. Makes me feel less rediculous for being so anxious. My scan is Wednesday morning. I am on 150iu Meriofert. I have really high AMH and AFC so they keep me low so not to over cook me. What are you on?

that’s great! Anything above about 14mm they told me is likely mature so sounds like you’ll have a good haul. What did you start on - 150 too?

@SlinkMcSlink sound like really good numbers to me. Hopefully your egg collection can be scheduled tomorrow after your scan.

@GCS34 not ridiculous at all! Honestly it’s impossible to get through this without anxiety it’s just such an unpredictable and unpleasant process. When I told my husband about potential ohss he was like “hyper stimulation? Sounds like you already have it.”

I started on 150 but gonal f. I’m surprised that despite my estrogen skyrocketing I didn’t produce that many embryos (considering my afc and amh levels). Oh well! Your message is comforting I hope the little ones will grow before the trigger 14 mm isn’t too far off.

@SamVan i think you can just get inside your head sometimes. I worry I won’t have responded or I’ll have really few small ones that are tiny. But I guess I’m early doors yet. What day is it for you?

what do you mean about you didn’t produce that many embryos… was this previously? What did you get before and did you say your amh was 35? Sounds promising with a cohort of 11-18mm. That’s some good measurements. And if your 18 went from 11mm 2 days ago, those 11mm now will be 18mm by your next scan so you should have a good few I reckon.

@GCS34 I understand! You’ve put a lot into the process it’s normal to worry it won’t work out how you want it to.

I’m on day 7 of stims today. This is my first ivf round and I have 10 follicles. Which is a great number but just lower than I was told by various doctors they expect I would have. I was told they expected 15 to 25. Hopefully all 10 reach the right size and don’t spread out too much making it difficult to get them all. I’m hopeful and trying to just relax as there’s nothing I can do at this point.

So just had my scan and my egg collection will be on Wednesday. They’ve changed my trigger medication because I’ve got a bit of leaked fluid and have lots and lots of follicles. It will definitely be a frozen transfer in about 6ish weeks the nurse said.

Think I should maybe go onto an August thread instead when that starts.
