Hi, couldn't see a thread for June yet so thought I would start one.

I'm on long protocol so actually starting down regulation on 28th May, egg collection not scheduled in until 8th July.

I am on NHS and this will be my first round. Was referred less than a year ago now and have managed to loose 2 and a half stone to get my BMI down.

Anyone else due to start around June?

@SP83 Yeah all good thanks hun. Only had one injection so not much happening yet.
Sorry you're cramping - how many injections have you done - is it 1 or 2 now?

I’m on two injections, Gonal and Menopur.

@SP83 sorry I meant days. So you have done 2 injections in total aka one day

Yep just one day, doing mine in the evening so day 2 today

SlinkMcSlink · 28/06/2024 17:12

Thanks @SamVan
@GCS34 That’s really useful information to know! So potentially if I have egg collection at the end of next week then I could be doing a transfer the first week of August. I did explain my frustration with the waiting at the appointment and the nurse did mention something about the next cycle.

I am starting to get quite uncomfortable on these needles now. Having the scan wasn’t pleasant and feeling very bloated. This is going to be a fun weekend! Trying to think of the bigger picture.

@SP83 Have you taken anything? I’ve got a box of cocodamol and wondering if I could pop one of them just for some light relief.

SamVan · 28/06/2024 17:14

I’ve just got a call from my clinic my estrogen is really high and have been told to reduce my gonal f to 75 from 150. I’m a bit worried that I’m overstimulating and gonna get ohss. I hope they caught it early enough 🙈

@SP83 I thought so but then I confused myself and got everyone mixed up! haha. How could I forget my twin date anyway 😂I just only have 1 injection to do where as you're duo stimming! Maybe it's the combo that's making you crampy. I looked through my IVF planner earlier to see what happened on each day for me and according to that, I didn't start to feel bloated until about day 7, so I'm hoping I'm the same again this time! Although from what I was writing, I was pretty shitty there after (quite literally!) not sure why I needed to document that mind 😂

@SlinkMcSlink I think it'll be off your next period, not sure they'll let you do it off the bleed following egg collection. When I said I started 4.5 weeks after my egg collection, I meant started the medication.

With a FET, you start the estrogen medication on day 2 of your period, then it's about 2 weeks of meds before you start progesterone for 5 x days then transfer, so it's about 3 weeks in total after you start your period you'd have a transfer, so I guess it'll be when your natural period comes following the period you get after your egg collection (which for me came about a week after I had collection) if that makes any sense?

@SamVan sorry to hear your estrogen levels are so high but I don't think that you'll get OHSS if you have high levels, as they're trying to combat that by reducing the medication, so I guess they're trying to slow it down and hopefully still have a fresh by lowering the doses? How are you feeling?

GCS34 · 28/06/2024 17:58

@Blossomofhope Hope your scan went well today and you're ready to join the stimu-clan

SP83 · 28/06/2024 18:59

@SlinkMcSlink I didn’t take anything, just tried to move around and it passed. Think it was partly period cramps too. Not sure about co codamel, as can give stomach issues to some people

Possibly could be because of both and period is heavy. Feeling better for now. I got bloated a few days in last time, hoping that it’s not as bad this time, was very uncomfortable. Ha ha feel free to share here!

SlinkMcSlink · 28/06/2024 19:23

I kind of figured that if I had the egg retrieval next Thursday (or around then) that a period would arrive around 2 weeks after this hence the 2 week wait? My cycles are around 30 days too.

I’m probably chatting rubbish now! Tired and lost the plot. 😂

SamVan · 28/06/2024 20:58

@GCS34 thanks! Did they lower your meds when you did your last round too? I feel ok a little bit nauseous and a lot of ewcm but other than that totally fine. I’ve got another scan on Sunday.

@SlinkMcSlink for my clinic they said I could start my meds after the withdrawal bleed so less than @GCS34 as it would just be two weeks to starting the meds and 5 weeks to transfer but it might also depend on what meds you need.

@SP83 oh bless you was it rough last time then? Do you remember how many follicles you had before you ended up having to cancel last time?

anyone else get a bit of a lump under the skin when you’ve injected meriofert? Don’t remember it with ovaleap last time

@SamVan nah they didn’t but I was on quite low already due to my ohss risk. They took my bloods every other day and never lowered them but did switch me to a freeze all and different trigger to stop me getting it. Which I didn’t. Do you feel bloated or you okay? What day is Sunday … 9?

@SlinkMcSlink mine came a week later as did my friend who was on a freeze all too but I don’t fully remember if I’m honest. I guess cuz you don’t have any progesterone you start sooner? I really don’t know 😂🙈

@GCS34 I don't have a lump. I've got a bruise about the size of a 50p where I injected the first one as I think I was a bit rough taking the needle back out. I've done three injections in total and the last two you can barely notice where I've injected, quite proud of myself hahah

@CakePigeon30 ouch! Well done on the other 2! The first was great, second was a bit of a stinger. I was way more tense last night tho. Remind me, are you meriofert too?it’s only a bit of a lump straight after injecting then just rub it and it goes. Used to get it with lubion too. Just wondered if other had as you totally panic you’re doing it wrong don’t you? Even tho it’s defo going in you but you somehow think you’ve cocked it up!

SamVan · 29/06/2024 09:15

@GCS34 Sunday is day 7 of stims for me, cycle day 8. I just did my first fyremadel- OUCH!!! This needle just would not go in. I bled quite a bit not sure if I did it wrong. It went into the syringe too. Praying egg collection is soon so I can minimize this!

CakePigeon30 · 29/06/2024 09:57

@GCS34 yes meriofert. Haven't noticed a lump straight after but I literally put an ice pack on straight away and sit with it there for ages!!

OP posts:
CakePigeon30 · 29/06/2024 09:58

@SamVan oh no! Is it a thicker needle?

OP posts:
SamVan · 29/06/2024 13:29

@CakePigeon30 yes it is and I don’t think it’s a very sharp needle either. So you kinda make an indent in your skin for awhile before it finally pierces the skin. It stings afterwards too. If men did ivf it would probably just be a pill by now.

SlinkMcSlink · 29/06/2024 17:15

@SamVan Here here!!! (The comment about men haha). There would also be a cure to period pains and giving birth would be a breeze. They’d make it mandatory to be put to sleep and wake up and tadaa your period is over or your baby has arrived! 😂

A little rough last time, more so about a week in. I had 2 follicles last time, hoping more develop this time round.

I had meriofert last time, rub it in after you do the injection that will help the liquid spread x

@SP83 awww I so hope for you too!! I’ve started feeling a bit of pulling on my left side today. Seems highly unlikely to be anything being day 2 but you just get in your head with it don’t you?

ohhh thanks. Did you have a lump after injecting too if you didn’t rub in? Lubion is like that so must be similar. I did rub it after and dispersed it but didn’t know if it was just me!
