Hi, couldn't see a thread for June yet so thought I would start one.

I'm on long protocol so actually starting down regulation on 28th May, egg collection not scheduled in until 8th July.

I am on NHS and this will be my first round. Was referred less than a year ago now and have managed to loose 2 and a half stone to get my BMI down.

Anyone else due to start around June?

The first time I used down reg and then were quieter but not a great cycle overall. Second time didn’t so down reg and switched to using revokelle for my stim. So this time will be using down reg and revokelle so a mix of the two.
The follicles were 13 and 14 so we’d basically have had to let them go and rely on the remaining 5 follicles which isn’t a great start. So I know they were right to delay. It Is frustrating though.

How are you getting on?

@SlinkMcSlink I’m glad you have your collection date confirmed! How are you feeling? It’s great you have some clarity on your transfer date too. Do come back and tell us how it went too even if you go to the next thread! I think a few of us are likely to do frozen transfers too so we might be on the same schedule.

I am expecting to start Ovaleap in a couple of days, just waiting for my new cycle to start. Has anyone used Ovaleap before? Wondering if anyone has experienced significant side effects I might need to prepare a bit for as it is my first time doing IVF.

Been for my day 6 scan. Feeling really disappointed only 4 follicles on one side at 10mm and none on the other although she did say there could be some smaller ones. They said they were ideally looking for 11mm or above but really sad that I only have 4 so far. They've upped my medication to 300iu

@CakePigeon30 sorry to hear that! It’s so frustrating when they don’t behave like you’d like them to. Sometimes they do have a growth spurt and you’re quite early on so I hope they grow quickly now that you’re upping the dose.

@SamVan I’m feeling positive right now because I know what time on Wednesday egg collection is. I’m not taking zivafert now as my trigger as I’m overstimulated. So many follicles I couldn’t believe it but my insides are so squished. I have to take 0.5 of burserelin at 10.30pm tonight instead and another tablet called Cabergoline for the next 8 days.

I was also told that I’m going to have to be put to sleep for my frozen transfer anyway because the consultant would have to do a lapro something?? At the same time. Can’t remember the exact terminology but it just makes it easier for me and my scarring. I’ll be completely out of it and won’t know a thing so that sounds much better!! Should be sometime in August. Also, the nurse said that as soon as I’ve had egg collection and get my next period all of the bloating should go away. Thank god!!!!

Any news from anyone else?

@CakePigeon30 They know what they’re doing! So it’s good that they have upped the medication. They’ve done the same for me but I have the opposite problem so I’ve had to switch medication. It’s frustrating though!!!

@SlinkMcSlink great news that you have so many follicles it’s just a shame you have to have a freeze all. Don’t leave the thread though after egg collection. Like @SamVan said, I think a few of us will be on the same and we should all stick here. I am on a FET February thread still as all the girls were still wanting to keep in touch and many still had FETs going on. So just hang here. We all will regardless.

good that you get to have a period and let your body chill out!! How are you feeling on the whole? I had bureselin as my trigger. It’s quite thick consistency so just take it slow. So excited for you!! Have they given an estimation on what they think they’ll collect?

@CakePigeon30 sorry you’re feeling disappointed but like a few others say, you’re still early days at day 6 is it? You have another 8 days if you need it. And good they’re hoping the dose. did they expect to have higher numbers then?

@SamVan ah I got confused as you said you didn’t produce that many embryos I thought you were referring to a prev round. But I assume you meant that there wasn’t as many eggs as they thought there would be? Did they say they thought they’d have 20/25 by egg collection? If so then they have another 7 days to go yet. I remember at my day 7 scan I had 30 follicles and by egg collection their was 50 and I got 20 eggs. So I think theirs still a way to go yet.

do they still plan for a fresh?

@SlinkMcSlink it’s good that you’re on buserelin with that many eggs! I heard it basically prevents ohss so you should be all good and more relieved soon! I can’t imagine how you must feel as I only have 10 and already feel pretty bloated.

i had bloods again today and my e2 is >8000 which sounds high especially as I don’t have that many follicles. I think I’ll be on buserelin trigger and freeze all based on my e2 but it’s not been confirmed. I’ve been told to do my next scan on Wednesday which is upsetting me as I think some of my eggs will be over mature by then and was hoping to do a scan tomorrow.

@GCS34 ah sorry I must have used the wrong terminology. No I won’t have that many eggs for collection I’ll have 10 probably. The 20 to 25 was just based on my stats before started this whole process. I think it’ll be a bit late for it to grow now as I’m likely trigger Wednesday so any which are big enough to yield a mature egg at collection are probably visible on the scan now. I’m fine with having 10 though just hoping some are good quality and my husband’s sperm is good on the day!

have you had a scan yet? How is it going this cycle?

@SamVan sorry I meant I got 49 eggs from 50 follicles last time.

do you know you’ll be triggering weds then? Have they said that? What day will that be? I thought they kept everyone going for 13 ish days as that’s the standard but perhaps not… does your husband have good sperm or is that another hurdle?

my scan is Wednesday which is day 7. And I’m okay apart from the anxiety and pulling sensations today.

@GCS34 Wednesday will be day 10 for me which means 9 days of stims if I trigger Wednesday. They haven’t confirmed if I’ll trigger then but if they don’t ask me to I will raise hell 😂 I’d not heard that they kept people on for 13 days but I think if they did we’d lose a lot of follicles.

to my knowledge his sperm is ok but it’s hard to know until you actually try to make embryos so we’ll have to wait and see.

that’s quick that it’s already day 7 for you! The pulling sensations are pretty unpleasant. Do they expect you to produce a large number of follicles like the last time?

@SamVan last time I was 14 days of stims. Most people I know and my friends / sister who had it were all 13/14 days of stims. Have they said to you it’ll be Wednesday? You may not need as long tho - Cuz I was on a low dose previously due to ohss risk they did low and slow so probably why but we’ll see this time. What are your biggest follicles? They pushed some of mine up to 25mm last time in order for the smaller ones to catch up.

was his sperm analysis all good? I could have killed my consultant when I saw him a few months ago and he told Mr GCS that he ‘didn’t need to do anything - you’re all good and sport on’. I was fuming 😂 stupid perfect at everything man. 😂🥱

it’s day 6 today, but had 5 days of meds as it’s evening shots. Tomorrow is day 7 / 6 of meds. I remember a lot of pain last time towards the final few days. Think their aim is less eggs this time but more quality. I’m nervous I’m not going to have responded. Or responded really low 😢🫣 have they said you’re on for a fresh? What dose you on?

@GCS34 no one has told me anything lol I have no idea if it’s gonna be Wednesday or if it’s fresh or frozen but I’m pretty sure it’s gonna be then just based on sizes and e2. My biggest one was 18 on Sunday but grew very fast from 11mm on Friday so I’m worried it’s going to be way too big by the time of collection on Friday! I don’t have as many eggs as you so the spread isn’t as wide.

we’ve been told his sperm looks fine so no need to do anything else for now but I guess if it doesn’t work he will do dna fragmentation tests and some of those other more rare tests? How you felt is how I felt when we went to the dentist and he had perfect teeth despite never flossing! Life is unfair sometimes. 😂

exciting times for you I hope you have a good response. Have you watched the Alex jones ivf documentary? There was a lady who basically had really low amh and her husband had literally 4 sperm and they still got 2 five day blasts from two eggs so you sometimes don’t need that many!

im feeling very anxious today, have my scan this afternoon just hoping it’s good news. Been feeling pulling and a lot heavier past couple days but just so scared after last time. Trying to stay positive but every twinge makes me think is that a good sign or not

@SP83 Bless you but I am EXACTLY the same - I feel so unbelievably anxious that something is going wrong in there, you know? I imagine more so for you from your last round, but with you being day 6, you wouldn't ovulate yet, but it's just the response isn't it? Have I responded, haven't I, will there be anything big enough / too big, it's just such a head f**k isn't it? I really feel you though as I am the same right now. What time is your scan?

If it's any consolation I feel the pulling / aching sensations in my ovaries too, and really trumpy! 😂All class here 😉

@GCS34 @SP83 if its any help I had lots of pulling and cramping in my first few days but it turned out to just be gas 😆 the plan is to trigger on Wednesday and I feel nothing now.

100% feeling exactly the same, the anxiety is too much, didn’t sleep well at all last night either. I wish I had a little window to see what’s going on in there. After last time I feel a bag of nerves waiting for the scan. It’s the same thoughts going through my head and then feeling my emotional alongside it… my manager got the brunt of it this morning lol

scan is at 130 so not much longer to wait.

@SP83 how did you get on? It’s such a lot to contend with and when you have past experiences to go by, it just adds to it all ten fold. Really hoping you have some good numbers and sizes going on and they give you the antagonist pronto!

after last time and getting loads but nothing being any good, and one of my ovulation inductions having to be cancelled due to not responding to the meds, I feel a bag of nerves even though I’ve done stim injections 4 times before, I’ve just got in my head and created a narrative that isn’t even confirmed. Aye aye aye. Hormones are buggers!!

Not the best news, they’ve told us to stop the treatment. One of the follicles had grown too big too quickly, she thought it could be a cyst but doubt it’s that. She said that the size will stop other follicles growing and egg quality won’t be good. Will start again on my next cycle. Feeling devastated with the news, just trying to get my head around it

@SP83 I’m sorry to hear, that must be so disappointing and difficult to deal with. I hope they can find the right treatment plan for you next round.

@SP83 Oh gosh I'm so sorry to hear that!! What size was the biggest one? Was their a dominant one in your baseline scan last week or not? Seems so odd that it has just grown one, not all. I'm so sorry and I'm not surprised you're devastated. Have they told you to trigger it or will you naturally ovulate it?
