IVF/ICSI June/July

Hi, couldn't see a thread for June yet so thought I would start one.

I'm on long protocol so actually starting down regulation on 28th May, egg collection not scheduled in until 8th July.

I am on NHS and this will be my first round. Was referred less than a year ago now and have managed to loose 2 and a half stone to get my BMI down.

Anyone else due to start around June?

I still wanna see how it goes for everyone and we are gonna take some time and try again in October. Save money etc.

In Ireland there's no real help for same sex couples so it's 5295 a pop.

Hopefully second try will have better hopes, we'll fourth including the IUI. I'll be 36 in August so I still have time.

Have taken the day off work and just watching movies and self care.

@SP83 all good. Just heard. Hurrah. Let the injections begin. What day is your first scan?

Since my egg collection I've had cramps. That was on the 19th. Had the blastocyst transfer on Monday 24th and I'm still having cramps.
It's worse after having a wee, and worse when I move around. Did other people have this too? Just checking if it's something I should be worried about or not.

Thanks so much. No definitely doesn’t get easier. I think I was more positive with round 2 but now I’m just scared of the outcome. 😅 I’m not scared of the process though, I guess I’m used to it now. Is this your second round? Very best of luck to you too! I hope we are all lucky this time 💫

@FlutteryButtery2 I'm so pleased you managed to get in today - how did you get on? Are you feeling more encouraged or still feeling shitty? I think the wait for a failed cycle consultation is awful - my clinic is the same. I got in on a cancellation, else I'd not even have had mine yet!

I'm okay thank you - starting it alllllllllllll over again today. Feeling quite nostalgic 😅

@SP83 Haha I'm weirdly excited. Sure that will wear off after doing one! My first scan is Wednesday. So day 6 of meds as I take them in the evening, then it'll be every other day there after.

what day is it today? I guess that’s normal yeah? More eggs that are growing = the more estrogen you’ll produce, more estrogen = more more cm?

Im waiting for the researcher as I’ve agreed to take part in something called a gx media study, had my scan though.

They said there’s a lot of follicles which is good but that means that I’m at risk of ovarian hyper stimulation because there’s a good number. That means that I have to have a scan again on Monday morning and then potentially egg collection on Thursday. They will probably have to freeze the embryo for transfer another month though because my body will need a rest because of how I’ve responded so strong. Also I’m quite slight/small so there’s not much room for bloat. Which could mean that I don’t get my transfer until August :( They said one cycle wait so that could even be September couldn’t it?

@SlinkMcSlink congrats on lots of follicles! Not long to go now. I think one cycle can be the one right after at least that’s what my clinic meant when they said one cycle for frozen transfer. Best to clarify with them though.

I just had my scan too the follicles they can measure are between 6 and 11mm.

Hello! I'm currently 1DP5DT (feels surreal saying that) and I'm officially in my TWW! 🤞🏻 first FET with a little 5AA embryo.

@sp83 you can take pain killers for cramps. I took naproxen and panadol. The junior doctor told me no naproxen just panadol but I was told by a senior doctor a bit of naproxen at start of cycle is fine. I would die with just panadol. check with your clinic though.

@SlinkMcSlink Great news you're ticking along nicely and lots of follicles. Did they say rough numbers or not? The only bit of info I can provide is what happened to me on my first round where I produced loads and subsequently put on a freeze-all. I had my egg collection on the 2nd Aug, had a period about a week later, then started my FET meds on Monday 4th Sept, so 4.5 weeks later. And the reason that was longer was because we took that opportunity to have a holiday in between.
If I had periods, i'd have started off my next one after the bleed a week later, so probably around the same sort of time I did to be honest.

Sorry you're cramping - how many injections have you done - is it 1 or 2 now?

@SamVan Hurrah for your follicles doing well. What day are you today? Is it day 6?

@GCS34 it’s day 5 of stims today! They could measure 10 follicles but said more might grow. I’m hoping they grow quickly so we can trigger on Wednesday to collect next Friday. :)
