Hi, couldn't see a thread for June yet so thought I would start one.

I'm on long protocol so actually starting down regulation on 28th May, egg collection not scheduled in until 8th July.

I am on NHS and this will be my first round. Was referred less than a year ago now and have managed to loose 2 and a half stone to get my BMI down.

Anyone else due to start around June?

@Clairehbear thank you
Im ok, did all my upset on Thursday so it was just to confirm what we already knew
Im just glad I can stop the meds for a bit - it just consumes everything doesnt it?

We have discussed donor eggs aswell, out of 5 fertilised we have nothing so assuming it’s an egg issue but will see what the clinic says.
Do one more round with my eggs and go from there

Have you looked into going abroad? We did to start with but agreed we’d do one round here to see what it actually took out of us and I’m so glad we did, it’s been rough. But obviously it does make it more affordable
Where would you start looking for a clinic?

ClaireBear101 · 16/06/2024 11:58

@FlutteryButtery2 I'm so sorry! This whole journey is so tough! Sending love

I had my ET this morning. 2 embryos went in and sadly nothing to freeze. I'm 35 so 2 went in down to low quality. So one, two or none may work out. It's a scary wait now till the 29th. Feeling really apprehensive about the embryos just not being strong enough. 😞

CakePigeon30 · 16/06/2024 13:04

Fingers crossed @ClaireBear101

Blood test was negative so that’s me done for this cycle

@SlinkMcSlink my period was actually better on the northisterone 🤷🏻‍♀️😂

@FlutteryButtery2 sorry it was confirmed fully 😔 sending love. It’s always worse when it’s fully official.

and I second fluttery @SlinkMcSlink my period after provera (the same pretty much) was so light. Like 1 day only.

For those who were unsuccessful in their rounds, how soon did you start bleeding after stopping meds?

@FlutteryButtery2 4 days after stopping progesterone.

Hey @FlutteryButtery2 sorry hear bloods confirmed cycle didn't work is just devastating no words can help hopefully next time will work with your own eggs and my cousin used donor eggs and she has 2 kids now!

I have my scan in at 7 wks, 4th July my clinic don't do bloods, I asked but i don't have continue progesterone either which is bit unnerving I've never been pregnant before but knew that progesterone is used to prevent miscarriages. I have no symptoms at all so just feels as if it's not real and my period will come any day ...

FlutteryButtery2 · 16/06/2024 19:04

@Snowdrop131 oh thats going to drag! My clinic do a viability scan between day 35-45 then a scan at week 8
Glad you’re doing ok though

Thank you @GCS34 I've had a little bleeding today, really not much but thought it was odd

@Snowdrop131 glad to hear you’re all booked in but yeah it’ll drag! Not too long but it will feel for ever. No one warns you about the 3 week wait after the tww!
do you mean you stop the progesterone at that scan, or do you stop it now?

@FlutteryButtery2 did you take any meds today? Maybe your period was going to breakthrough anyway and the progesterone has held it off a bit?

FlutteryButtery2 · 16/06/2024 21:52

@GCS34 no I didn’t see the point really so last dose was last night.
I don’t really know what that was actually as I’ve not had any more bleeding since - am waiting for a tsunami I think - assuming it’ll be really heavy as I’ve been building that lining up

No stop progesterone as soon as i had positive test I think because my lining was OK but still thght it would be up to 12 weeks. 🤷🏻‍♀️

@FlutteryButtery2 it really does consume everything. It doesn’t help for us that we are in Belfast and travelling down south or Ireland for our treatment so it makes it so much harder all the travelling!

we haven’t really looked into it too much. I’ve heard good things about IVF life in Spain and I also researched a clinic in Cyprus and it included hotel stay with the package. No idea how much it costs though. It’s hard to know what way to go with donor eggs

FlutteryButtery2 · 17/06/2024 08:51

@Clairehbear yes it does, I’m going to ask about donor eggs when we have our consultant appointment and then weigh it up.

wow that’s quite far, we only do 120mile ish round trip to our clinic.

Abroad is mostly cheaper but I’m not sure with how I felt after the egg collection whether I could travel back after - but with donor I wouldn’t need to do an EC so I guess it would be easier

GraciousProtea · 17/06/2024 10:34

Clairehbear · 16/06/2024 11:28

@GraciousProtea thanks very much means a lot.
This is our 2nd cycle. We done our first cycle in May and got 1 embryo that didn’t make transfer. I have extremely low AMH so the likelihood of it working are very slim but I have to try. So 1 more attempt and if this doesn’t work then will look into donor eggs and most probably go abroad.

@Clairehbear give it your all and we will go through this together!

@FlutteryButtery2 yeah I didn't take any on OTD, there is literally no point. The only time I carried on with the progesterone was when I had my miscarriage confirmed and I was waiting for surgery, and I didn't want to MC naturally, so I carried on the meds for another 3 days while I waited. Hopefully you'll come on by Weds.

My last failed IVF period was a builder! I had period pains building up for 3 days, and they we're pretty heavy on the day of, then they went and my period was only 3/4 days, so not too bad. But I do have lining issues - I can never get beyond 7.5mm 😫

How are you feeling today and what did the clinic say about booking in for a consultation? Do you have it booked yet?

@Clairehbear blimey that's a big old drive! Fingers crossed for the second cycle being the one. I'm with you on round 2, so I'm hoping what they've learnt from the last, they are more prepared and can get better results. Have you changed your protocol this time? So sorry to hear you didn't make ET last time. Is that due to low AMH did you say?

@ClaireBear101 how are you feeling today?

@GCS34 thanks so much for asking. I'm exhausted but good. Just small walks but mainly taking it easy. So happy I work from home. I keep worrying that if I stress it will fail and that stresses me more. I swear it's sending me balmy.

@ClaireBear101 how are you feeling today?

@GCS34 Yea it’s a lot and I took off from work last time because I’m a nurse and work nights and it just wasn’t feasible with all the travelling and I didn’t want to be doing any heavy lifting but I don’t know what to do this time. My manager wasn’t overly happy that I went off sick last time so I’m sure it will be worse this time.

No they haven’t changed my protocol at all as technically it worked last time. Yes my AMH is only 0.9 so to even get an egg is amazing. It’s just hard when other people get bigger numbers. Last time we only got 1 mature egg and it did fertilise but embryo stopped developing on Day 4/5. I just wish we had of even had 2 eggs to give us that better chance of 1 making it to transfer.

it’s just so hard to be in this situation and I’m sure everyone is the same on here it just feels so unfair. Just feeling very down and overwhelmed.

FlutteryButtery2 · 17/06/2024 15:00

@GCS34 oooh it has arrived
Went to the gym this morning and have spent the afternoon watching bridgerton as it’s raining and im cramping

They called while I was in the gym so sent me a msg and I’ve replied to book the consultation so just waiting on that, hopefully it’ll be soon as everything is fresh in mind but will make a list again of things to ask

How is everyone else feeling today?

Zeeha · 17/06/2024 15:20

I've just had my first interim scan after seven days of Meriofert and my egg collection for later this week has been cancelled! 😢Apparently my body has reacted quite unusually to the medication. There was one follicle in one ovary which was really large (in excess of 30mm) and then multiple smaller follicles in my other ovary. I'd also developed a cyst on one of my ovaries! I was really worried I would going to be hyperstimulated, so this is quite a shock. I've been told to stop the medication and to take the trigger injection this evening for us to try at home. If that doesn't work, then the earliest we could try again would be August to give the cyst time to go and to come up with a new plan. Has anyone ever experienced or heard of anything like that happening before? The doctor said it's something that rarely happens and he may only see once every six months in a patient at the clinic.

@ClaireBear101 Awww hopefully that's because those embabies are nustling down in there. Like you said, keep active but take it easy. I did plenty of walking during the TWW as it definitely helps mentally I think. I read an article on stress and ivf last time as I was MAD stressed and it said it has not been proven that stress has any impact on the outcome, so hopefully that will make you less stressed at least a bit 😁

@Clairehbear really hoping you get a couple of mature eggs this time! And that your period arrives promptly so you can start stims with me beginning of July 😊

@FlutteryButtery2 oooooh great news, that was efficient of it. hopefully not too painful mind you. Have you heard from the clinic? And well done for going back to the gym - hopefully you enjoyed it x

ClaireBear101 · 17/06/2024 16:05

@GCS34 I've been reading up too and saw the same thing so yea it helps. I'm definitely going to keep thebwalking up. Dog wouldn't be happy if I didn't haha.
Mind me asking... I'm behind on messages sorry, what was your outcome?

@ClaireBear101 when is your OTD? And yes keep up the doggo walks - he won't be happy!
I am waiting to start round 2, call tomorrow with the nurse to sort meds out and getting them delivered. As I have no periods, I can random start just have to have a scan, so plan is to start 1st july.
