IVF/ICSI May or late April

Is anyone else gearing up to do IVF/ICSI in May?

My meds have arrived and I start my down regs next week to start a long protocol ICSI cycle, my egg collection will then be mid-May.

Had my first ICSI cycle in Feb which resulted in only 1 embryo which was transferred on day 5, but BFN. I found the support group on here super helpful with my last cycle, so wondering if anyone else is in a similar position?

@HopefulllHolly Congratulations ❤️❤️

@Ashleighlouise Thank you. What did the clinic say to you when they called?

@HopefulllHolly Congratulations ❤️❤️

@Ashleighlouise Thank you. What did the clinic say to you when they called?

They just told me that out of the number of eggs we had how many had fertilised! So we had 13 eggs and out of those 10 had fertilised normally! The embryologist just said that the 10 looked like they had fertilised normally which was good and we'd get an update on day 3 if some of them weren't progressing but we managed to get to day 5, with 5 lovely blastocysts! They didn't go into massive detail with the phone call tbh!! I hope they call soon 🤍🤍

PurpleRayne89 · 17/05/2024 09:38

@Ashleighlouise That is amazing news. I’m sure you will get many blasts. X

@hopefullsosbry I found this link for you which might help reassure you: https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/infertility/4412474-bleeding-on-stims

I just googled “bleeding on stims forum”

Thanks for this .. I did try to search but didn’t see this for some reason .. but I may have been panic searching and could have missed it 🙈 thanks again .. off to comment on the thread 😂🥴

Hey @LeoStar24 I’m just off the provera so just a tiny bit ahead of you , welcome welcome xx

Seasidegirll · 17/05/2024 10:31

Did anyone else get/have lots of cervical mucus during the stimm phase? The last few days I’ve had so much CM and I would be due to ovulate in a ‘normal’ cycle about now so I’m worried that my body is getting ready to ovulate or something!! I will definitely ask about it at my scan but just wondered if any has experience the same thing? I guess it could just be from all of the drugs but naturally my brain is panicking 😂

PurpleRayne89 · 17/05/2024 10:41

@Seasidegirll its perfectly normal, your E2 levels are increasing which produces CM. It correlates with the development of follicles. Perfectly normal ☺️

PurpleRayne89 · 17/05/2024 10:42

The embryologist still hasn’t called me to tell me whether any of my eggs have fertilised. I’m not sure whether this is something to worry about. I literally feel sick to my stomach.

AnnieStar12 · 17/05/2024 11:25

Had my EC, only got one egg, all the other follicles were empty. Totally gutted after all this long journey, and thousands of pounds spent, to only have one egg that I would have got on a natural cycle anyways. I know everyone’s gonna tell me it only takes one but the chances of this one working are just sooo slim and it’s sooo disappointing.
They're gonna call me this afternoon to let me know if it’s mature enough to go through icsi.
Tbh, at this stage if it’s not going to work I’d rather just know now so I can put this behind me.

@PurpleRayne89 can you chase them? I’m now in the same boat as you waiting for dreaded call from the embryologist

@Seasidegirll yes I did get mucus too and my consultant told me that was good sign.

@AnnieStar12 😞 Im really sorry, I know you’ve been struggling and I know it’s really hard. Sending you hugs, sorry you’ve not had the outcome you deserve xx

PurpleRayne89 · 17/05/2024 11:32

@AnnieStar12 I am sorry to hear your news. I know exactly what that feels like. It takes so long to get to that point. It’s exhausting on all grounds.

Re my embryologist calling. I don’t want to chase them as part of me doesn’t want the news.

EvaA17 · 17/05/2024 11:39

@AnnieStar12 so sorry to hear, you are so strong for going through this, sending you so much love and a virtual hug.

EvaA17 · 17/05/2024 11:44

My scan was okay - my doc literally just did a quick scan to see if everything looked okay ahead of the weekend. She said on Monday she will do another scan and count all my follicles and the sizes etc.
Now I just need to switch off for the weekend and not overthink! Just have to keep going and pray for my miracle to come soon.

Thank you all for your words of encouragement. We are all so strong! Xx

Seasidegirll · 17/05/2024 11:45

@AnnieStar12 So sorry to hear your news, I can’t imagine how upset and disappointed you must be feeling right now ❤️ I hope you can rest up and look after yourself for the rest of the day x

Seasidegirll · 17/05/2024 11:46

@PurpleRayne89 @AnnieStar12 thanks for the reassurance re cervical mucus, good to know it’s normal and others have experience it!

PurpleRayne89 · 17/05/2024 11:46

@EvaA17 Wishing you good news. 🗞️

Ashleighlouise · 17/05/2024 11:58

@AnnieStar12 I'm so sorry you've had rubbish news this morning I really am 😓 crossing my fingers that you get some positive news about this little egg you have now ✨ sending all the positive vibes and I hope you have some time today just to to sit with your feelings a little 🤍

@EvaA17 glad your scan went ok! My first tracking scan was really fast as well! It was in and out in a few minutes! But the next one will be a lot more informative really! The waiting around really is the hardest part of it all!

@LeoStar24 welcome!! It definitely is really daunting at the start, there have been lots of tears from me over the past 6/8 weeks 😂😂

Gnatalie16 · 17/05/2024 12:33

So I have had my numbers back and I got 69 so I def have OHSS. She's told me I need to take a week off work as I could be quite ill. I will get a call in the morning to find out how many fertilised.

I am sorry @AnnieStar12 I have everything crossed your one get the result you need with that x

HopefulllHolly · 17/05/2024 12:36

Jesus @Gnatalie16 no wonder you weren’t feeling amazing! I’ve never heard of a number that high! Hope you can rest up. Buy yourself lots of electrolytes and force feed yourself water xxx

LeoStar24 · 17/05/2024 12:44

@Rebekah77 Ahhh so nice to hear someone so close on their journey to mine!

Is this your first time?

I am on short protocol and if all goes to plan after my baseline scan next Friday I am due to start.

Good luck!

Ashleighlouise · 17/05/2024 12:46

Wow @Gnatalie16 that is an impressive amount of eggs I actually gasped when I read that number😂 your little eggs will be busy and hopefully you have a great number fertilised tomorrow 🤞🏼🤞🏼I hope you are able to rest and take care of yourself - put your feet up 🤍🤍
