Bleeding on Stims

Day 4 of Overleap and have started bleeding.
Before starting stims I had DR scan which said my lining was 2mm. I was told to continue with Buserelin and introduce Overleap. Clinic is closed until Monday and can't find much about this online. Has anyone had this, know if it's normal and why it's happening? X

@cherrytreecottage I had 8 days of fresh bleeding in my first ICSI. My periods are usually 5 days long. I was on Pergoveris though not Overleap. Dr checked it with vaginal ultrasound, couldn't find a reason back.

Is it fresh blood? Do you have a cyst?

BlueSilver23 · 27/11/2021 16:58

Usually clinics have an emergency number to call? Could you try that?

cherrytreecottage · 27/11/2021 17:35

Thanks both for replying @Cayandsimit @BlueSilver23

It's what you'd expect at the arrival of AF, so not heavy or fresh blood as such.

I called the main line but the option for the emergency line says "if you have a serious medical emergency and/or life-threatening problem, please dial XXX and attend your nearest A&E. Felt like mine was a non issue in comparison.

I can wait until they open on Monday but was more curious as to what it could be or if it was a common side effect. At my DR scan on Tuesday there were no cysts!

I read in one forum it could be the lining coming away, which didn't sound good!

This is very reassuring though, thank you!

Hi @cherrytreecottage - just wondered what happened in this cycle for you?

I am in a similar situation and trying to worry….. but finding it tricky!

I am on long protocol and had a bleed on day 11/12 but then started a second period 2 weeks later and a day or 2 before starting stims. Now on day 5 of bleeding and day 4 of stims.

At first I thought it was because my oestrogen had dropped but really hoped it would have stopped by now?!

Hi @Hopeful199 I called the clinic when it was back open and they said it's completely normal to get some light bleeding whilst taking stims due to all of the changes happening. I continued with the protocol, had my EC on 9th Dec. I developed pretty bad OHSS from the trigger shot but meds calmed this down enough to have day 5 ET. It then flared back up, so the clinic saw me again to do HCG test. They confirmed a positive pregnancy - the HCG levels can trigger OHSS again (which I didn't realise)!

I'm now 8+1 and had my first scan yesterday!

It's hard not to worry when going through all of this. The strain on our bodies is crazy but hopefully all worth it in the end.

Keeping my fingers crossed for you x

Thanks so much for replying @cherrytreecottage

Amazing news about your pregnancy…. huge congratulations! And thanks for the good news story!

I think I just need to be patient and wait it out don’t I. Just so hard not to read into everything. My bleed on Buserelin was delayed then felt ok about it. Relieved to start stims but started bleeding and still going!

Just worrying as I guess the lining is supposed to the thickening now rather than shedding?! 😣

I am 39 (nearly 40) and have endo too so wonder if it’s just all the hormones and dodgy lining settling down?! Fingers crossed it is! x

Hi,
sorry I realise this thread is old, just wondering on both outcomes @cherrytreecottage @Hopeful199 .. I am also having a bleed while on stims (day 5 ovaleap) and worrying .. after reading some of the comments I does give me hope that my bleeding should be ok, when I spoke to the nurse she just said it shouldnt be happening but it’s not unheard of .. but if it’s really heavy might need to restart cycle. I won’t know until Monday .. which seems she’s away .. hope you don’t mind sharing any experience? Thanks 🙏

Hi @hopefullsosbry
Sorry to hear you're experiencing some bleeding. My bleeding stopped shortly after my last post. It seemed to align with the DR's prognosis that I had some small pockets of blood that were just coming away and once they'd shed, it all stopped! My DR said they're unsure exactly why pockets of blood form, but scans showed they weren't anywhere near the foetus - they were just floating in the uterus. I went on to have a smooth pregnancy and my daughter is now 20 months old!
Given you're on day 5, and I was on day 4 - I really hope you're just experiencing a similar situation!
It's all such a worrying time anyway, without having something like this. Thinking of you and wishing you all the best!

Also this has completely put my mind at ease, it is light bleeding I have so hopefully it stays this way and I’ll still be ok for EC .. sorry again to bother you.. thanks for the well wishes and take care 🥰
