IVF/ICSI May or late April

Is anyone else gearing up to do IVF/ICSI in May?

My meds have arrived and I start my down regs next week to start a long protocol ICSI cycle, my egg collection will then be mid-May.

Had my first ICSI cycle in Feb which resulted in only 1 embryo which was transferred on day 5, but BFN. I found the support group on here super helpful with my last cycle, so wondering if anyone else is in a similar position?

@Hollielouise @Clairehbear yes hopeful for a fresh transfer as well 🤞🏻 my clinic have said that if they collect 15+ eggs then it will likely to be a freeze, my consultant said this morning that she things I’ll get (ideally!!) between 10-15 so we shall see what happens on the day.

@AnnieStar12 that’s strange you also had varying AMH numbers .. ?! my background story in a nutshell .. 2 miscarriages from natural conception one missed miscarriage (age 36) one chemical (age 37) got 5 blast from ivf (age 39)
1- fresh transfer - bfn
2-FET - postive but then came away two days later
3-FET - postive but beta was only 14 and period came within a week
4-FET - postive and got to 10/11 weeks with heart beat but then fetus heart stopped and came away within two weeks .. sent biopsy of what I passed (was like a small baby I could hold in my hand 😞 very sad ) biopsy came back as triple X syndrome
5-FET postive but then came away again within a week

we seem to get pregnant but then they come away ?! Male factor is slight high DNA fragmention and slightly low on his parameters but not that low to be able to ivf. We didn’t need ICSI. Have had various tests but nothing flagged up ?! We were wanting to PGT testing this round but we’re NHS this time and wouldn’t allow us .. if this round fails then we will defo get it next time and if embryos are all not genetically abnormal but still come away we are thinking a surrogate as might be my body for some reason rejecting .. ?!

SO sorry to hear about all your losses @hopefullsosbry, similar story here with miscarriages, I really hope one day the HFEA and NHS will finally recognise the good of doing PGTA 😔

@hopefullsosbry oh wow, you’ve been through a lot in recent years. I’m so sorry to hear about your multiple losses. I’m really hoping this second round works for you, you really deserve some good luck with this round.

Yes, this is my second round of ICSI. We have been TTC for 15 months, had a natural conception which ended in early miscarriage. We then did 3 rounds of IUI, one of which was positive but MMC at 8 week needed surgical removal. I found IUI so stressful so moved on to ICSI and first round only got one embryo which was a BFN, and now here we are on our second ICSI round with only one egg collected so very slim chances. But all we have to cling to is those tiny odds, hoping we’ll be one of the lucky ones!

@HopefulllHolly thanks , I guess you just roll your sleeves up and have to get on with it ..
@Ginie2024 yes I found it bizzar that one of the criteria for PGT was you had to be under 39 .. so I was too old .. surely the older you are is a reason to be needing testing as more genetic abnormalities will be present ??? But yeh we will pay if we have to for it in next round .. if this doesn’t work .. !
@AnnieStar12 thank you , yes hopefully we will all have good luck this time and be complaing of our pregnancy symptoms together here in a few months time 😂🤞🏽✨ here’s hoping .. so sorry to hear about your losses aswell .. and everyone’s on the thread .. it’s a hell of a thing to have to go through, but we all have and get back up again when we get knocked down .. we’re all amazing ..we can do this 💪🏽

Thank you so much @AnnieStar12 and @HopefulllHolly they will check the quality at 9:30. My ET is scheduled for 11:30 but is dependent upon the quality. Sort of cruel the way they do it. Hardly got any sleep last night. Fingers and toes crossed!

@Clairehbear @Hollielouise how did you guys get on with your trigger? Mine has left an absolutely huge bruise!! I haven’t bruised with any of my other injections so that’s a bit weird!

@Seasidegirll oh no you poor thing. Was it in a similar spot to a previous injection? I haven't bruised but am definitely uncomfortable now - can feel my ovaries and the potential 24 follicles 🫠

Hope you're having a good day and can distract yourself ahead of egg collection tomorrow. Very strange not taking any injections and just waiting now.

@Seasidegirll it was ok though I have 1 small bruise from 1 of the stims and 1 huge bruise from 1 of the stims as well but I bruise really easily lol 😂
