Hi 👋

A thread for anyone who wants to discuss their Create Fertility experiences.

I'm 38, have had 3 egg collections with Create (2x natural modified and 1 x mild) and am about to go through my first FET following embryo banking and after having a Hysteroscopy and discovering I have thyroid antibodies...joys of fertility challenges.

Tagging as follows from previous chat, please tag any others I may have forgot.

New joiners to the thread welcome to share your experiences - it's a never ending learning curve for all!

Thanks @Sunflower360. Hope everyone is doing well and feeling as positive as is possible with the rollercoaster of fertility treatment 😬

@muddlingthrou how are things with you?

@Sunflower360 - ok, other than slowly going mad waiting for my early pregnancy scan on the 19th March. Time is crawling and I swing from being very pessimistic to the opposite (I don't think the progesterone is helping with that). Seeing some friends tonight who are very well-meaning but I just don't have the energy to talk about fertility treatment.

I'm sorry if I'm being insensitive to those yet to get their BFP! I hope everyone gets to that millstone soon and beyond (without losing their sanity)!

@muddlingthrou it is hard because a positive test is another step on the journey, but I can appreciate the worry. I've just told family we're not talking about it past egg collections now and they'll just hear if there is any news, at or if we get to the 12 week point, others mean well but it can be exhausting and stops you from being able to get on with life I find

Thanks for creating @Sunflower360

Just a recap: I've had one mild cycle with create following 2 years of TTC with one miscarriage

The mild cycle produced 2 embryos. The fresh transfer failed so now onto the frozen transfer with the last embryo

Thanks @Sunflower360 how are you feeling?

Just caught up, @Doxy21 glad all went well

I'm not really feeling anything now, just want the last cycle done so I can move on.

@Plantymcplant when is your FET? Have you had any other tests on the meantime?

@VenusStarr just want to fast forward to OTD tbh! It's the waiting game in IVF that's the hardest part I find

Forgot to do an overview. Age 40, ttc 6 years, 6 pregnancy losses, 2 were ivf. Diagnosed immune / nk cell issues but treatment failed.

Have done 4 cycles so far, no children. My recent 2 rounds resulted in only 1 average day 3 embryo which is frozen. One final cycle left. But I'm classed as a poor responder. So the odds very much are not in my favour.

@Sunflower360 I hope it passes quickly and you get good news.

@Sunflower360 I haven't had any other tests in the meantime. I had a scan this morning and my lining hasn't developed enough so continuing with the oestrogen and having another scan on Monday

Hello everyone in the new thread! I will be 38 this year, have a 2 year old from ivf at NHS in 2021 which produced 7 eggs, 6 fertilized, 1 4bb blastocyst transferred and none to freeze. I had 1 round with CREATE in December 2023 which produced 5 eggs, 3 fertilized and 2 transferred day 3, BFN (very early chemical I think) and nothing to freeze. I am planning to do more rounds but abroad (where I am originally from), and the one round at CREATE cost a lot already and I feel we may need a few rounds still so can't face the financial burden.

Aww thanks @VenusStarr bit nervous now! Was pretty well versed with ECs but with this being my first ET it's all new!

Also, not sure if anyone has had embryoscope /time lapse imaging when they've had ECs? Think it could be worth doing perhaps to learn more about the embryo as the embryologist talked me through that this morning (we added it to our package)- basically we picked the embryo that appeared to be developing the best over the 5 days at each stage. Of course it is a beauty contest and the genetic element could override all of that but in the absence of PGTA testing it is something to help embryo selection when transferring. Bit unsettling to not know if it's euploid or not but I've made that decision

@Sunflower360 yes we paid for the embryo scope both at NHS and this time at create but this time was a waste as none of my embryos stayed for day 5 :( I agree that it is something worth considering

@jolly86 Yeah, we did it in our NHS cycle at another clinic but got our money back as we got no embryos

Well, the transfer was interesting - my bladder was too full, so I emptied some. Thankfully, I could stop as tempting as it was to empty completely! If we end up needing to do another transfer, I'll know how much water to drink next time now.

@Sunflower360 crossing all my fingers and toes for you!

I think everyone drinks too much water for their first transfer. I was much more controlled this time and couldn't believe it when they said it my bladder was plenty full enough. The first time round I thought I was going to burst!

When's your OTD? Are you going to hold off testing early?

Report
Sunflower360 · 09/03/2024 18:16

@muddlingthrou thanks, will see, my OTD is 20th if I can hold off testing I will! I think I would only test earlier if I noticed symptoms, if not then I'll take it as it hasn't worked tbh. When I had the chemical (natural pregnancy) last summer I had symptoms before testing so if that was anything to go by I'll hopefully know either way before OTD

Glad you have an embryo on board @Sunflower360
We've not done embryoscope, I knew it was an option but they never mentioned it to us.

We've decided to delay the third round, I've just emailed my coordinator.

@VenusStarr that sounds like it could be good, just to take a break from it all of anything, it can be so emotionally draining
