Hi 👋

A thread for anyone who wants to discuss their Create Fertility experiences.

I'm 38, have had 3 egg collections with Create (2x natural modified and 1 x mild) and am about to go through my first FET following embryo banking and after having a Hysteroscopy and discovering I have thyroid antibodies...joys of fertility challenges.

@Sunflower360 ive had 5 egg collections and 4 transfers with 5 embryos so this is it for me. I don’t think I will have a consultation with the doctor

@Doxy21 completely get that. Have you had a pregnancy before, perhaps you can try naturally? It does only take 1

@Sunflower360 no I’ve never been pregnant. We’ve tried iui before too and that didn’t work. We’ll continue to try naturally but I don’t think it’s likely!

Can I just ask how much water do you think is best to drink before transfer?! I'm scared I'll be bursting for the loo, making it a very uncomfortable procedure 😂

@Maddie23 - I was advised not to go to the loo for an hour beforehand and to drink normally. So I think I just had one decent-sized glass of water about 45 mins before and all was fine. If your bladder isn't full enough you can always drink more to top it up, so I'd we're on the side of drinking too little rather than too much!

@jolly86 thank you. Will see how the follow up goes, doing doing research myself too on questions to ask to plan for the next FET

@Sunflower360 this is your first transfer so not even sure it is necessary to research but I understand you want to be informed.

@jolly86 yes that's true. Will see what the Dr suggests, I wouldn't mind putting in 2 so as to use one of my poorer embryos with an average one as I'd be surprised if my poor 4cc grade embryo would take, albeit it is frozen - I wouldn't want to transfer it on its own as its my lowest grade so at some point that would be a double with something anyway. But will see what the Dr advises

@Sunflower360 i don’t think twins risk is high at our age considering how difficult for one embryo to work already

@jolly86 that's my thoughts too will see if the Dr will consider it

@Sunflower360 I'm sorry it doesn't look like this transfer has worked, I hope you're OK.

We've been away this week, had a really nice time away and felt like we reconnected to us, but having really dark thoughts today. I've booked another Dr consult but it all feels pointless but I'm so far in now I have to see it through, but I don't want to do ivf anymore. I don't believe it will work for me. I'm sick of my body not feeling like my own and being bloated and hormonal. I can't remember if I said, but I wanted to discard the day 3 embryo but my dh talked me out of it. I just regret doing 3 cycles so much 😔

@VenusStarr sorry that you're feeling that way. Could it be worth having a break before restarting or would you prefer to do it then you know and can move forward one way or another? It's such a tough path, with unfortunately no certainty, hope you get some clarity soon. Hopefully the Dr will be able to provide some guidance too, is your review soon?

I don't know @Sunflower360 I don't feel like I want to do ivf again at all right now. I'm feeling very low.

@VenusStarr have you tried the counselling/therapy create offer? I think you get a session free

We've had a couple in the past @Doxy21 one together, one on my own. I don't think I can talk about it at the moment, everytime I try to talk I just cry. I've not had a good night and just feel a sense of fear, not about ivf, just life at the moment. It's really intense. I think I'm going to call the mental health team this week because my head is not in a good place and it's scaring me how sudden its come on.

@VenusStarr hope you feel better soon, here if you did need to talk at any point. Its so much to process.

@VenusStarr definitely seek mental health support, i hope they are able to help you quickly. Otherwise do you have workplace support? We have some mental health resources and private medical via work

I’ve just had a call to congratulate me on being pregnant… but my beta is only 16 and I need to go back in a week. Should they not have told me it’s unclear rather than positive? I don’t know if I have false hope now. But I’m happy that it’s a possibility.
