Hi 👋

A thread for anyone who wants to discuss their Create Fertility experiences.

I'm 38, have had 3 egg collections with Create (2x natural modified and 1 x mild) and am about to go through my first FET following embryo banking and after having a Hysteroscopy and discovering I have thyroid antibodies...joys of fertility challenges.

Tagging as follows from previous chat, please tag any others I may have forgot.

I know you all don’t know me but please keep your fingers crossed for me if you can 😬

Plantymcplant · 18/03/2024 15:21

@Doxy21 OMG! Congratulations how amazing.

Plantymcplant · 18/03/2024 15:21

All my fingers are crossed

Doxy21 · 18/03/2024 15:22

Thank you @Plantymcplant ❤️

Plantymcplant · 18/03/2024 15:24

I hadn't even thought about levels as I am still at the trying to get a positive test part. What number are they expecting for a beta on test day?

muddlingthrou · 18/03/2024 15:44

@Doxy21 - hoping so much that all turns out well for you!!! I guess if the embryo took a little while to implant that could explain relatively low HCG levels on OTD. All that matters is that they rise, so I will be crossing everything for that outcome xxx

Sunflower360 · 18/03/2024 15:50

@Doxy21 that is so exciting!!!!! You have a positive result and that is definitely worth a shot. Have you done a FRER? It should show on there as that picks up 7iu and above

@Plantymcplant i thought over 25 was pregnant 🤷🏽‍♀️ so i think 16 is grey

thank you @muddlingthrou

@Sunflower360 no but I did a frer yesterday and it didn’t show so maybe that’s hope because it was less than 7 yesterday and more than double 7 today? But I’ve been peeing lots at night so I don’t know if at home tests work as what would be first morning urine?

I think I’m being too hopefully - it’s 11dp5dt and beta is only 16 and yesterday there was nothing on an early test.

Sunflower360 · 18/03/2024 16:02

@Doxy21 that doubling would make sense though and if you transferred an early blastocyst perhaps it developed later? I think you're in with a chance hopefully! Either way gives you hope

I really hope so @Sunflower360

jolly86 · 18/03/2024 17:51

@Doxy21 wow that’s a bit of a shock right x did you do a cheap test early and thought it was negative . And today was your official date and gave blood? Or did you do home test and was positive and then you went in for bloods?

Doxy21 · 18/03/2024 18:41

@jolly86 i had bloods booked for today as my official test day (11dp5dt). I did an early at home test yesterday to prepare myself - that was negative. I thought blood tests were usually 9dp5dt but I assumed they put me down for today because the lab is closed on Saturday 🤷🏽‍♀️ I thought the at home test I took on 10dp5dt would be pretty definitive (though my paperwork said if doing an at home test do it 2 days after blood test but the paperwork is generic and I thought my test date should really have been Saturday for bloods). So I just hope it is a late implant rather than a chemical - one of the blasts transferred was a day 3 they cultured to day 5 and when they transferred it, it wasn’t graded as it was still an early hatching blast. But in reality it could all just be wishful thinking and will be a chemical. From what I can tell, below 5 is not pregnant and above 25 is pregnant so I’m in no man’s land.

Maddie23 · 18/03/2024 20:56

Omg everything crossed for you @Doxy21!

Doxy21 · 18/03/2024 21:18

Thanks @Maddie23

so, checked the early test I took yesterday. It picks up hcg 20 and my hcg is only 16 today.

my husband pointed out we have one number - we don’t know if it was higher before yesterday and is going down or if it’s going up. Such a grey area. Nothing I’ve read seems positive with a figure this low.

jolly86 · 18/03/2024 22:16

@Doxy21 what is your plan then when will you test again? Fingers crossed

Doxy21 · 18/03/2024 22:17

@jolly86 i have another blood test next Monday. I’ll test again on the weekend as I currently have no tests and husband is away with work this week.

jolly86 · 18/03/2024 22:42

@Doxy21 next Monday seems far away. I m surprised you can’t get one in 2 days. And cwill you not crave in to test yourself. It’s all too exciting to wait x

Doxy21 · 19/03/2024 06:40

@jolly86 yeah it’s ages away. I don’t think it’s fair on my husband to test whilst he away (or me to deal with a negative on my own). But the tests are on order for Friday delivery.

Plantymcplant · 19/03/2024 09:03

@Doxy21 it's nice you are doing it together with your husband. How are you feeling?

Doxy21 · 19/03/2024 09:24

@Plantymcplant im going to act like I’m not pregnant (but still no caffeine, alcohol etc) like I know which way it’s going but keep a bit of hope 🤞🏽

At the very least, I can be pregnant it seems and this is the furthest we’ve ever got.

I told one person yesterday and cried with happiness as that might be the only time I can say I’m pregnant out loud. Even if it only lasted 2 minutes. Then I pulled myself together. Husband and I haven’t acted like we are pregnant as it’s so hazy.

It would be perfect if it works though as was our last shot. I just don’t know if it’s likely with a beta so low.

I just went to clinic to get meds and my patient co-ordinator was on reception and she congratulated me on my pregnancy. So I’m still confused. Maybe it’s better for their stats. But she and the nurse don’t seem concerned by my figures. Maybe they are trained to be optimistic! I’d like to think they are the experts but who knows.

I kinda want someone to tell me the true picture. But I guess no one knows!

Doxy21 · 19/03/2024 09:25

@Sunflower360 is your test day tomorrow?

I hope everyone else is doing ok? Didnt mean to monopolise the conversation xx

Sunflower360 · 19/03/2024 09:35

@Doxy21 oh no don't worry about that! Its good to hear a positive story, gives us all hope 😂 I'm definitely a negative as I've started spotting even whilst on Progesterone since yesterday (my period was due yesterday based on my ovulation and I'm usually clockwork so the Progesterone is just holding it off I think). So I'll just do the home test tomorrow that they gave me to tick the box then its done and not bother going into clinic. Was yours a blood test? I only got given a pot to wee in to give that to them....so I'm kind of confused and in all honesty don't see the point in that if the FRERs do the same thing. In any case I'll push for a beta blood test next time, no point this time as its not worked.

I have my follow up with the Dr tomorrow morning as I pre empted it was negative when I did the FRER so hopefully will have a plan in place for the next FET by end of tomorrow.

Sunflower360 · 19/03/2024 09:42

@Doxy21 if you haven't started spotting on the Progesterone then perhaps take that as a positive too as the HCG would hold that off I would think?

Doxy21 · 19/03/2024 09:52

i find this blood test/hpt thing weird. Why isn’t it uniform across the clinics? Mine do blood as standard but I have to go elsewhere for the bloods. And I imagine I have to pay £60 for the follow up blood test at the clinic. It’s good you’ve got the call with the consultant set up. Hopefully they will let you go again straight away.

I think progesterone holds off the period regardless? After my first ever transfer which failed, I was going on hol and my distant my period so the clinic told me to just keep taking pessaries.

Sunflower360 · 19/03/2024 10:19

@Doxy21 yeah it does all feel random. So was your hcg beta blood test in your FET cost? They do bloods at the clinic but not sure if it included hcg beta ones
