Hi ladies,

Just wondered if anyone is due to start their IVF cycle this month and want to keep company?!

I will be starting my first round hopefully in just over a week's time, on a short protocol.
After 2 years ttc, hoping this is finally our year!

@Sherr33 haha love it. I had gonal f for my iui rounds and responded fine to it. For the ivf round I was on pergoveris but this time rekovelle. So weird to suddenly know all these random drug names. 😂

waitingforourmiracle · 10/01/2024 19:20

Anyone else get really overwhelmed when they saw their medication 🙈 I saw it and just burst out crying, it's just so real now!! They have put the progesterone in there x

Blossomofhope · 10/01/2024 19:33

@waitingforourmiracle ya I picked mine up yesterday and was fine but today the reality of it all has hit me again. I feel like I don’t have the energy for all this again. It’s such a tough experience but we are stronger than we think and we’ll get through it ❤️

SocialPR · 10/01/2024 22:03

@Sherr33 that’s really good and I’m the same but such a sucker for coffee! My first cycle diet wasn’t great and I don’t mean eating junk just a very pressured job so snacking and not eating proper Nutrition meals. I’m the same like grains etc so thanks for all your tips. Need to eat more egg yolk which I can’t stand! How are you getting on with your journey

@Natty2 I already eat pretty healthy but shocked how reading online certain food groups can majorly helps such as beetroot and like your doing grains/veg minimal refined sugar so everything natural! It’s a hard road but thanks for your advice on your diet

@waitingforourmiraclethat’s soo good and well done you. I don’t drink but I’m very guilty on eating biscuits now and then which I’m fine cutting out. It’s hard but just thinking eating all the good food and veg will help you on your journey ahead and also make you feel so much better! I hate fatty good foods like fish and eggs but needs must lol

@Lasagne30not old at all so don’t worry you have time!

Natty2 · 11/01/2024 13:23

@Sherr33 hope your appointment has gone well today!

How's everyone feeling, people that have already started treatment and those that are waiting?

Update:

So I was completely wrong in the assumption that I'd be starting my injections.

Im taking Northisterone from the 24/01 and then Gonal F starting 15/01 my potential EC is 26/01 but thats if everything goes to plan - which hardly ever does but I guess I'll be in the Feb group.

I thought this scan was for me to start 💉

waitingforourmiracle · 11/01/2024 14:38

@Blossomofhope hope you are feeling better today ❤

@Natty2 after my little breakdown last night I'm feeling much better today, how are you?

@Sherr33 glad you've been given more of an understanding of what is happening and knowing dates is exciting!

@Drzoem any sign of AF today?

Blossomofhope · 11/01/2024 15:41

@waitingforourmiracle feel so relieved to have first scan out of the way. I’m almost excited to start jabs now. How are you feeling?❤️

waitingforourmiracle · 11/01/2024 15:51

@Blossomofhope when do you start your injections? Mild protocol must be slightly different, I start injections on day 2 then my first scan is day 6. I'm feeling much better today I think it just all hit me at once last night when I saw the medication x

Natty2 · 11/01/2024 18:00

@Sherr33 that's good that they've given you a clearer protocol!

@waitingforourmiracle that's positive that you are feeling better! I felt very emotional seeing my meds too and now excited to get started. Although I'm sure it will hit me all again on the first injection. Mine is very similar to you, start on day 2 and scan on day 6

@Blossomofhope will be on a long protocol, so ready for jabs in a couple of weeks or is it sooner?

OP posts:
Blossomofhope · 11/01/2024 18:35

@waitingforourmiracle oh I know, it’s a lot. What day are you on now? I’m starting jabs tomorrow then back for a scan on Monday.

Blossomofhope · 11/01/2024 18:37

@Natty2 are you waiting to start yours? I’m on a short protocol. Starting jabs tomorrow and scan on Monday again 🙂

Natty2 · 11/01/2024 19:09

@Blossomofhope good luck for your start tomorrow! I think I completely misunderstood on the earlier chats that this was a second cycle (as in frozen transfer) keeping fingers crossed that this whole round again works out for you 🤞🤞

I've actually just started spotting, so depending on when my full bleed starts my injections will start very soon! My nurse explained full bleed post 2pm means day 1 starts the next day so I'll just need to see! Now feeling a mix of emotions after seeing that spotting!

Blossomofhope · 12/01/2024 09:15

@Natty2 I feel like period starting even for ivf is emotional cause for me at least I still had a bit of hope maybe we’d conceived and we didn’t need the ivf but wasn’t meant to be. Once youve got started you’ll feel better I’m sure. It’s such an emotional rollercoaster.

Ya I’ve done a full round before with one transferred and none to freeze so doing it all again. Least I know what to expect but I’ve a diff jab and some additional things like taking a steroid, aspirin and calcium.

waitingforourmiracle · 12/01/2024 09:59

@Blossomofhope according to my flo app I'm due on on the 21st but after doing OPKs I think I'm going to be late, my cycles are so random so I have no idea when I'm going to start! Hope your jabs are okay!

@Natty2 hope your okay! I know I'll be exactly the same when I come on! I hope you don't find the jabs too bad!

Good luck to you both 🌟

Natty2 · 12/01/2024 10:20

@Blossomofhope I know what you mean, I did have to take a test earlier this week as my bbt was consistently very high but it was a bfn as always. But for now my day 1 has well and truly arrived, so have called the clinic and waiting to start the first injection tomorrow

Best of luck with yours!

@waitingforourmiracle thank you! hope you are not having to wait to long for af to arrive!

Copenhagener · 12/01/2024 14:35

Hi all,

I’ve just begun my first round of IVF (short protocol) after 3 failed IUIs. We have unexplained infertility and I’m 32.

I’m on day 3 of stims with gonal-F. My scan to determine egg retrieval date is on Wednesday. Starting to get nervous now!

waitingforourmiracle · 12/01/2024 14:47

@Copenhagener welcome and good luck! How have you found the Gonal-f injections? That's what I'll be starting when AF arrives x

Copenhagener · 12/01/2024 14:55

@waitingforourmiracle it’s my 4th time using it, as my IUIs were also stimmed, though mildly at just 62.5 and 75 of Gonal-F.

It made me very tired and bloated, and last time I had some bad mood swings.

This time, I am on 175, and I feel okay so far, besides the tiredness. Injections are fine. No bruises or anything!

Fingers crossed for you too! Do you know your dosage yet?

waitingforourmiracle · 12/01/2024 15:28

@Copenhagener I see, sorry to hear about your failed IUIs :(
I'll be starting on 125 x

Drzoem · 12/01/2024 17:51

Yes today is CD1!! Starting injections tomorrow and have already booked monitoring scans 🤞🏼

Natty2 · 12/01/2024 17:54

@Copenhagener welcome to the chat! And good luck with your ivf journey 🤞

Natty2 · 12/01/2024 17:54

@Drzoem 🙌 me too! Good luck

Bruceytwo · 12/01/2024 18:02

Hi everyone, hope it is all going ok for everyone. I get so confused by all the different protocols, I don't even know how to empathize properly!

@Copenhagener looks like you're two days behind me. I started gonal f last Monday, my scan will be on Sunday as the clinic couldn't do Monday. Also getting a bit nervous.

Also today I had my 5th 187.5 dose (so 937.5 total injected) from a 900 pen, I expected to have to use a new pen to finish the dose but the pen went to zero. I guess there was overfill? Has worried me slightly that I've got a dose wrong somewhere but I've been so careful....

Pincushion83 · 13/01/2024 05:58

Hello everyone,

I had my three day update yesterday and we’ve two promising-looking eggs which fertilized and each had 6 cells. They had also ICSI’d the late maturing two, but they didn’t take.

Tomorrow, I get the 5 day update, then they get biopsies for chromosome check. The results will take 1 week. I sort of wish I could transfer fresh, and not risk the biopsy, but at 40, it’s recommended by my hospital and I’m learning patience this year.

How is everyone doing? I’m following the thread avidly and sending everyone positivity! Xx
