Starting IVF January 2024

Hi ladies,

Just wondered if anyone is due to start their IVF cycle this month and want to keep company?!

I will be starting my first round hopefully in just over a week's time, on a short protocol.
After 2 years ttc, hoping this is finally our year!

@Blossomofhope I'm sorry to hear you didn't have any to freeze 😞 keeping everything crossed for your two embryos🤞🤞

@cbear1989 Im booked in on the 8th but I think I’ll test Saturday morning 7 days after transfer. Yes I transferred two. Also they gave me a recording of the embryos developing on a usb this time which I didn’t receive last time. I’m not sure if this is a new thing or if they only hand them out if the chances are better. Last time I had a lower grade and only one blast.

Im similar to you - a bit crampy today. Hoping that’s a good sign. But I know could just be the progesterone.

I'm def crampy on and off but I agree, the progesterone never agrees with me so there's zero point Iver analysing symptoms, even though we all can't help that haha! I'm gonna resist til the 7th so it's gonna be a long week and a bit. My expectation is pretty low so fingers crossed I'll be massively pleasantly surprised. Hope you're feeling okay though! xx

Love reading all your updates and following your stories. This morning was transfer day one embryo highly graded transferred, unfortunately none suitable for freezing. We have to wait 2 weeks to test! Gonna be a long 2 weeks!

we got a photo of our embryo to take away and got to watch the whole process on the ultrasound

Hope you're feeling okay after your transfer today. Great news that you've had a good quality one put back in, fingers crossed for you!! Welcome to the dreaded waiting period!! Least we are all in it together I guess🤣🙈🤞

I've not been posting but have been keeping up with everyone's progress. There's definitely a reason they refer to people as 'IVF Warriors', kind of feels like at every stage there's a new worry to fight. I've got everything crossed for everyone.

We got 11 eggs, 9 of which fertilized, and had 4 blasts by day 5. One transferred last weds and 3 were frozen.

Don't know grades as I don't think they do that in Denmark.

I've been naughty and testing every day! Anybody else done this? I tested out the trigger shot and today they started showing negatives so I know that is out of my system, but seeing the negative still feels sad even though I know it's normal! OTD not until the 4th, think I might stop now and just wait for that.

@Bruceytwo Those are great results, you must be delighted 🙂
I haven’t tested yet but I will on Saturday which will be 1 week after the transfer so I’d imagine it’ll be fairly accurate at that point. I’m so nervous. So far all I feel is bloated since egg retrieval 😂 and a little cramping yesterday. It’s such a nerve wracking process!

@blossomofhope thanks! I was really relieved about the numbers, I had had no side effects and felt like the stims couldn't be working so it was a surprise! A bit of doubt is setting in now as I have some issues with fibroids etc.

Your two blasts sound good too, they wouldn't allow a transfer of two on a first round at my clinic else I would have liked to do that.

It's wise to wait and test, I wish I'd waited, testing early has got me down a bit.

I'm also bloated and a bit weird feeling, don't know if that is the progesterone, trying to manage my expectations without getting negative, it's a balancing act!

TMI but every time I feel a bit of wind I think 'was that implantation!?' hah.

@Bruceytwo I also feel gassy - not pleasant. Ya my clinic advised against transferring two for my first round but approved it this time. I know there’s risk with multiples but I’d secretly love twins (healthy of course). How many days ago did you do the transfer? I’m sure you prob just tested too early.

@Copenhagener I'm in the UK but went for IVF in Denmark, had a really positive experience there :)

@Blossomofhope today I'm 6 days post transfer. I've realized I was counting transfer day as day 1 when it's actually day 0, but I won't test again tomorrow.

@Bruceytwo cool! I live in Copenhagen, but I’m originally from the U.K. Which clinic did you use if you don’t mind me asking?

Glad you have a good experience! As far as countries go, it’s a nice country to be infertile in.

Day 5 after 5-day embryo transfer and I have some light pink spotting. I’m on progesterone, so it shouldn’t be my period yet (normally, I don’t start bleeding until I stop progesterone, and later in my cycle).

I’m still worried it’s my period breaking through, as I have fatigue and cramping too.

My blood test isn’t until next Tuesday.

Has anyone else experienced this?

I have such a feeling that it's not gonna happen for me this time, I'm not even excited or anxious to test as I'm just expecting a negative which sucks. Not having any crazy symptoms here particularly, little bloated but then again I am away for work for a few nights and def not eating that healthily 🤣🤣 just sat on my own in a hotel restaurant and ordered a pizza as I think I'm coming down with a cold as I have a sore throat so I feel like I need some comfort 🤣🤣 might even think sod it and have a pudding too!

@Copenhagener we're with Maigaard Fertilitetsklinik. The staff were all great and after ER there were crackers and herbal tea waiting for me, with little tiny chocolates. I was thrilled.

I think your symptoms sound very positive!

I was woken at about 2am with what felt like bad period cramps and a stitch. Am feeling like I'm out though, I think any symptoms I'm having are from the progesterone.

@cbcbear1989 I say get the pudding!

Sorry you're feeling it's not worked out. You never know until you know though ( I realise I'm being hypocritical as I said the same thing)

Guys I caved this morning and did a one step test which is supposed to detect 10 miu and there’s a faint but visible line. I didn’t tell my partner I was doing a test incase it was negative. I’ll do a clear blue with him tomorrow. So I’m obviously very cautiously excited but I’ve never had a line on one of these tests before.
I read this post this morning about the correlation between late implantation ( https://www.reddit.com/r/IVF/comments/fljrfi/when_should_i_test_an_informative_post/ ) and miscarriage so I’m feeling positive that I’m seeing a line at 5dp5dt.
Anyone else tested or tempted? I clearly have no willpower. 😂

I don’t have any symptoms 3 days post transfer don’t know if I’m suppose to, don’t know much these days other than my brain will not switch off on a night! So many what ifs and should I/shouldn’t I etc etc
We only get one funded attempt at this (which is 5th attempt just not 5th IVF) 😔

Fingers crossed for you all on your tests post transfer.
The week for me has been torture waiting for our updates.
Our day 5 was yesterday and they managed to freeze one good quality egg.
The 2 were early blastocysts so wanted to wait until today to see if they were viable to freeze. Sadly they weren't 💔💔

@Natty2 sorry to hear they didn’t make it. I had the same situation. It’s disappointing.
Had you been hoping to do a fresh transfer for the embryo you did freeze or was the plan always to freeze?

@Blossomofhope we had to move to a freeze cycle Thursday last week as my bloods were too high. It should have been transfer day yesterday so now lots to process
